I actually like how this whole shounen trope was deconstructed here. Alice thought about the "heart" in the way it is often done in shounen, but Haihachi Mishima Gramps explained her that she simply failed to include the "artistic extras" of the Bento theme, outright denying any "magical unexplainable heart".

If anything this will trigger Alice's assistant to hold a big grudge towards Soma.

I'm also interested in seeing how is Erina going to react at this. On one hand one of her great rivals suffered a crushing defeat; on the other her most loathed one passed to the next round. Hmm...

Not in Weekly Shounen Jump or they'd axe it. TLRD its in a class of its own so that example would be null. Weekly is all about Shounen (now). Your probably thinking about Fujishobo.

If I had to pick one thing I really enjoy about these series, it's that I've never seen so many characters that were soo happy about eating. They looks so fulfilled! So Jubilant! So naked.

Totally impossible, given how her grandfather saw through Soma's dish. Erina's opinion about Souma is already changing, just look at the aftermath of his previous match, how she's reflecting on her own words about the experience of losing.

I completely forgot about Alice's assistant. Yes he will possibly try to get revenge... But I doubt that he even gets as far as reaching a match with Souma. There are far more interesting enemies that Souma can face, it would be a waste for them to "fight".

I think he will just drop out since Alice is out now or just causally go on with his match like "Oh, Alice lost.".

Dunno if we're reading the same series, but this is definitely under the Harem category. Souma has already built himself up quite a following already.
