I think you may be confusing 'normal' with 'common'. I mean the former, not the latter. It's also something that I, personally, consider to be normal.

And you're misconstruing my meaning, as well. I meant that exactly like I asked: "is that normal in mainstream anime?" - as in, is it normal for that kind of representation to be portrayed, or even alluded to. Obliquely, sure, but plainly? I think it's probably the first time I've actually seen it, myself. That I can remember, anyway.

And I love the series even more for for it.

I, personally, see such a thing as normal anywhere. Again, you sound like when you say "normal", you mean "common". Which is something entirely different from what I mean when I say "normal". When I say "normal" I just mean something that's neither bad nor absolutely amazing. It's just a choice someone decided to make, and a choice anyone can make. I don't think people deserve special praise for doing something that's completely ordinary.

This is just me though, you can praise them all you want.

Again, you're misconstruing my meaning. I'm not praising the person/character, I'm praising the anime's depiction of said character. There's a very slight (or big, I'm not gonna differentiate, here) difference. The very fact that they not make a big deal out of it is kinda remarkable, in my eyes. But, hey, it's no biggie.

I'm of the same mind as Beto here, you hardly see anime that covers the topic of transexual/gender characters as something normal. The last anime I saw like that was Rakudai (Chivalry of a Failed Knight) and Alice has always been treated decently both in the adaptation and source.

The fact that My Hero does the same is indeed praiseworthy considering how the topic of what's considered an okama character is typically handled. For example One Punch Man and Puri Puri Prisoner and Okamaitachi. For example One Piece and Mr. 2 as well as Emporio Ivankov and his okama island. And that's just the popular mainstream shows.

I'm not saying Dengar is wrong either. However, your personal views on the subject does not equal how the subject is typically handled in an anime. That should be the point that is always remembered.

Pardon my ignorance, I didn't really know about either and just assumed their gender by their body type. That was an interesting piece of information, albeit trivial to the plot.

No I didn't misunderstand at all. I knew that was what you meant. I just don't think I should be praising people for doing something I find ordinary (IE writing a character to be a normal person just like everybody else). But if you find it amazing, that's fine. It's just in my brain, I'd be congratulating somebody for breathing.

You're still misinterpreting what I said. I never, ever said that it was a common occurrence. I just think such a thing is normal. Ergo the fact that usually anime goes like "HEY LOOK AT THE CROSSDRESSER", is something I find abnormal, although it is quite common. I do not feel like I would do the issue justice by praising people for doing what I expect of any writer.

Well, things aren't going well. They've really got a crazy bunch of villains together, though at least some of them are down.

Its nice to see Bakugo be clever every now and then, using a rampaging Tokoyami against the other villain. If Tokoyami ever gets that quirk fully under control, he might just be the physically strongest in the class (in the dark at least). And Midoriya's always good at combination attacks, even if he's running on fumes by now.

They've caught up, but going up against those villains is not going to be easy. When the musclehead killer seems almost normal by comparison, they've got some serious psychopaths there. Todoroki is powerful but Shouji and Deku are both injured already.

They want to dye Bakugo in their color huh? Give him some of the ol' Orochimaru treatment?

You know I don't really think Bakugo is the type. He has a lot of anger and passion, but I don't think he's villain material.

Well, I actually get to be here early for once.

I'm really getting excited now. Mr. Compress suddenly shot to my favorites of the villains. He reminds me of another one of my favorite villains, Kagetane, from Black Bullet.
He was able to get the job done with little fuss and great awareness. And I have the feeling that he's flare for being an entertainer is what helped him get the job done. (i.e. the best entertainers in magic use distraction as their ultimate ally in order to preform their true feat)

Now that we've finally seen Toga in action, I'm honestly not that impressed. Everyone keeps hyping her up as "best girl", but nothing about her interests me. She's okay but she just acts like one of a hundred other crazy anime school girls. I'd like to see her powers in action, and I find it funny that she has this sudden crush on Deku, but I'm not rushing to see her again.

I like that we see Deku's planning and tactics in action here. He's doing very well however, I fell like he will fail in some way here.

Twice is interesting in that he's like a manic Two-Face. That new Nomu was the stuff of nightmares! Poor Momo, but she did a great job putting on that tracer. However, with her having a tracer, it makes me think all the more that things are not going to go like Deku wants them to.

I really want to see what happens next especially now that Kurogiri is on the field, and he's the ultimate "get out of jail free" card.

Lol classic Bakugo telling them that he doesn't need help.

Latest episode was pretty intense. I especially liked Himiko Toga's brief moment with Uraraka and Tsuyu. What a cute psycho!

Dark Shadow really is an impressive quirk. If Tokoyami ever manages to fully control it, he'll be almost invincible in the dark. He took out that villain that was giving Todoroki and Bakugou so much trouble in 2 seconds.

I love Toga, but Yaomomo is best girl.

I need a spinoff series where Dark Shadow tries to lure Tokoyami to the dark in order to take over his mind forever and be free in the world.

Good episode, lots of suspense and the hero side is still in dire straits. That ending, though...when's next Saturday?

I don't know, I found Toga to be a bit generic. Like, not necessarily in a bad way, she is not unamusing to watch, but she doesn't really do anything that stands out.

Dark shadow is a simple, but effective quirk. If Tokoyami masters it, you'd be hard pressed to defeat him in the dark without the right quirk.

Bakugou is as prideful as always, so even in this situation he wouldn't easily accept the fact that he's being saved and protected.

Toga made friends and even found a guy she likes, I'd say this mission has been productive for her

Yes, but how is she going to react to the fact one of her new friends (at least) is her love rival?

Who cares, right now she's as useful as Mustard Kid, really cornered against a team of hero wannabes. To be fair, they are both very young compared to the rest of the villains, but they didn't go there to fight in the first place, so their contribution has been...acceptable? Iunno, the only thing I'm sure about is that she's two bricks short of a load. Crazy characters are fun though, I mean, look at Twice!
