JC Staff hasn't always butchered with their adaptations especially with their recent ones. Witchcraft Works was pretty true to the manga and the animation was well done as well. Even Prison School which I was sceptical at first was surprising well done and kept true to its source despite its budget and only 1 cour (12 episodes).
Yup. I think J.C. Staff has done a marvelous job so far with SnS. And I applaud the anime team's ingenuity in including those side stuff from the tanks, and incorporating future chapter content material without really giving away any obvious spoilers.

Not forgetting Prison School and Shimoneta as well, which have been extremely good and enjoyable.

I also like how that poster generalized J.C. Staff, w/o even doing a proper research.

Call me generalized but 90% of the JC staff anime that I watched were pretty bad in my opinion, especially when I do read the source materials.

Their biggest sin was animating Zero no Tsukaima.

Prison school? Immediately dropped at episode 1.

Shokugeki no Soma was decent but not good enough. At this point, I don't really care whether it got S2 or not.

Saw a lot of ppl excited for Rindou, but actually I'm more interested in the 3rd seat guy as he's the only power-chef to not vote for Azami. Really curious to learn about his character and reasoning.

kek, I have a feeling that this arc might turn into something like "Rindou was wrong, the one who heralds a new wave for the academy was not Azami but Soma" or something like that seeing as that seems to be what Isshiki was on about at the start

oh whoa.... so this is the time when future Elite 10 would fight against current Elite 10?
Or probably it is just Souma and Polar Star Dorm that would make a move?

It is obvious that Souma would be the one who stand against Azami since some of his friends are actually not quite talented in cooking and they are in danger of being expelled
I don't know how Erina would take this...

anyway, this is worthed for a hype

That's sound quite right, but frankly, what make me feel weird the most in this chapter is the authority that the Elite 10 have, now, i have no complains whatsoever about using the school money and resources for furthering their ability, but does he seriously let them hold the management of the school and the right to elect financial and representatives decision ??? i mean this clearly is stupid for handing that kind of authority for children that haven't even graduated from high school.

Judging by the flow of the story, the next arc probably involved replacing the current members of the Elite 10 so Senzaemon have at least 6 supporter, counting the 4 that aren't part of Azami faction, we have at least 2 more seats, anyone have a speculation on who is the new part and who is kicked out as well as the new order???
My speculation is well Souma( rather obvious) and Eizan got kicked out, he is only 9th seat and Souma and Eizan history already get pushed back for too long. 2nd member is likely either Hayama or Kurokiba. Megumi is the dark horse.

Of course the author could always goes the Souma get 1 seat, Then both side is equal and Saiba appear for a shokugeki with Azami and kick his ass since as we all know, Saiba's cooking is love oriented which stand opposite for Azami ideal.

Tell us which anime adaptations by JC Staff have you actually watched, hmm? And I mean from start to finish without dropping it.

Isn't that a light novel? You do realize that LNs (and novels) are one of the hardest pieces of literature to adapt into a visual medium since its entirely narrative with only a handful or no images to base it from. Some parts are bound to be cut off or changed for the sake of more fluid storytelling and/or to fit the time and budget provided.

So basically you judged the show after the first episode. Not liking it doesn't mean the adaptation was bad. The pacing was quite fast in the first episode but after that it was smooth sailing. Even the humor was well executed.

You still haven't pointed out scenes you claimed didn't do the manga justice or didn't properly adapt and to why you thought so. Until you do, your word is nothing but your personal bias and opinion. And if you really don't care if it gets a second season or not then why are you pointing that the adaptation was only decent?

Well, technically the director can probably have them kicked out and instill only members to the E10 who are on his side. I think Soma's father is going to have a direct confrontation here and wrap up the big mystery of his past as to why he didn't graduate (since Erina's father was the 3rd seat during that time).

I don't really understand how Eizan and Azami's philosophies can be compatible. Eizan cares about money. He's all about the masses voting with their wallets.

And Azami looks some kind of circle-jerky "only true gourmets count, where true gourmet mean people who agree with me".

He wasn't; they have different family names.

This is shounen where teenagers routinely decide the fate of the whole world. Don't read shounen if you want real world logic.

We don't really know what Azami promised the 6 members of the Elite 10 to get them on their side. I imagine Eizen probably got some juicy promise for future business or something like that.

Have just read ch. 134 a while ago. It was intense! Well, I suppose every hero needs a demon king that he has to defeat, and Erina's dad (whose name I forgot) is as much a demon as he is a king, presently.

The way this gonna play out may have to do with Mr Darkness Incarnate's changes of the school's policies. From his words, it seems his pride in cooking is something like an over-extreme version of Erina's, centering around the noble and pretigious aspect of food (I guess we know what he taught her). This, however, is a direct contradiction with Souma's people-oriented style and possibly Tadokoro's creed of hospitality as well, so they will be involved one way or another. I hope it's not gonna be another story of Tadokoro getting close to being kicked out and Souma saving her lovely rear again. On the other hand, though it's quite predictable, but since old man Something-emon was usurped due to a majority vote from Tootsuki's Elite 10, the natural course of action would be to have Souma and Co. challenging them for the seats of power, in order to overturn that vote. It's already 6-4, so they will need to win a minimal of 2 out of 6 Shokugekis to have a favourable outcome. Might be more, if the score somehow turned to 7-3 or even 8-2, with the 3rd Seat being a wild card and the 10th seat possibly being brainwashed by her evil daddy.

I don't apply real world logic here, i mean i'm basically fine with the whole resources for cooking things but at the very least, shouldn't he give some consideration in the case this happened, i mean, letting the student change the chairman is a big deal.

In Eizan case, it's more simple, we never actually seen Eizan cooking and mostly managed business, i imagined he promises something along the lines of "IF you support me, i'll use Tootsuki's connection to get you some deal"

A big baddie who takes over a school and wants to get rid of all the "non-elites" where the main character is a boy with a scar on his head.

Sounds familiar

Yeah it's Nakamura Azami that was written. However, given in Japan where it is common or out of snideness, he may have called him "father" if he married into the family which I think is still a possibility.

How is it still a possibility he married into the family?

What are you asking? I'm saying he married after graduating and took the Nakari name then had Erina. That's how the name could have changed.

Normal schools in Japan do leave the authority of distributing club funds to the student council, so the Elite 10 being given resources for cooking is pretty much in line with reality within this manga's exaggerated context. It's the fact that they're allowed more power than the school's chairman that's disconnected with real world logic, so just ignore it.

I agree about Eizan's case. He's quite the money-grubber, and Erina's dad already explained that his target demographic exclusively consists of rich and privileged people.
