As I think about it, this ring does not really mean that "ring". First: We don't know where she got it. Second: Are we really sure it is ring? third: We don't know why she does not wear it (as I look at that picture first what hits my eyes is difference in measures between Fate's fingers and "ring"/I know I'm perfectionist in some ways/).

For all we know, the ring can be from anyone. Erio and Caro do come to mind just as quickly, and it's not as if they don't have the money to pay for it. Heck, it could even be something Fate brought for herself.

I look at it that, assuming its a 'ring-ring' (Which I doubt. It looks too big), we could assume if Nanoha gave it to her that she may be uncomfortable wearing it on her finger but she didn't get rid of it - so she likes the gift but doesn't want others to question whom gave it to her if she wore it properly.

Of course that assumes that:
A. Nanoha gave it to her
B. It's an actual ring

I was just bored. Don't mind me over-analyzing a picture...

I wouldn't be surprised actually. But actually I would love to see someone do a take on that, build up the friendship they had when Fate was younger, to something deeper. Maybe a lover on the side or something, but I'd probably actually read something like that :3
