Although there's nothing wrong with these designs, and it would make sense to use the art of the original medium (novel); I think I'm just too used to the Comp Ace version. It had a more stylized and sharp feel to it. I also like the Hero's look infinitely more.
Oh well, I'll enjoy this anyways (obviously to what degree lies in the studios' hands). I'm hoping to get a Spice and Wolf experience from it (with the occasional action episode), based on the content of the manga readings.

Today (the 29th) is apparently Useless Meat Day, so head over to the official site and mouse over the Demon Queen's (Archenemy looks to be the official name now?) useless meat for some useless meat action. Clicking them will also let you download a bonus wallpaper of useless meat. It only lasts today so enjoy your useless meat while it lasts. There should be more presents like this every month on Useless Meat Day (the 29th), so take note if you like your meat useless.

Also, I wasn't joking about the Useless Meat Day thing. They're really calling it Useless Meat Day on the official site/twitter. |

The palette remind me of Hyouka for some reason, except more saturated.
The artstyle also feels extremely familiar, but I can't quite pin it down to any single character designer I know. It does however feel like Bones's or A1's designers at work here. |

Meh, I'm pretty not feeling the character designs in the anime. Kinda of amazing how it ended up being inferior to all 4 of the official source material.
However... I do love the art direction that being shown here. If the anime really does maintain that palette I won't complain much. |

ARMS!? Well, the animation looks a little clunky but I love what they've done with the art style. Last edited by Kakkou; 2012-08-09 at 11:43. Reason: name typo |

This would be a "Shut up and take my money".gif moment but I'm too gobsmacked to go look for it
Looks absolutely amazing, this will be one time where I truly hope the quality stays high, the USELESS MEAT deserves it! Love the music, very fitting and think it is a good idea that they revealed some characters already. The wait for what they would look like I think would hamper the series instead of doing it any good tbh. It's not like a Master Chief hidden face thing.

Yeah, pretty much. ARMS rarely animates stuff that isn't ecchi (such as Naisho no Tsubomi) and I found Elfen Lied (despite its extreme content) to be above average. Besides, I liked the atmosphere.
