Sent a small unit to fight against Tokugawa in Sekigahara, but were able to maintain their "independence" after the battle (Kagoshima being the southernmost province had some kind of independence). Some centuries after that, they were one of the two families responsible for bringing down the Shogunate.

They have 4 guys that could be the Shimazu character

Takahisa: brought the clan to prominence

and his 3 most famous sons:

Yoshihisa: eldest son, under his reign the Shimazu had a huge expansion
Yoshihiro: he is the one that appears in the Sengoku games, usually. Fought very well in the invasion of Korea and in Sekigahara
Iehisa: youngest son and best general in the family

All 3 of them won battles when hugely outnumbered.

There is also another brother, but he was not as famous as the other 3.

Episode #... er last episode lol

Whoa, I seem to be a tad late with my comments on the final eppy Anyways, I really liked the way it ended. It really worked on the real event behind all this: Masamune's determination. I just knew Tokunyan's rise and demise wasn't going to be the end of it, as I'm glad they touched on the real reason for this whole mess nice to see Masamune put it all behind her, and the goodbye's between Hide-chan and the gang wasn't so over-dramatically doggy *cough*

I kinda laughed though, back in Hideyoshi's era, no wonder why that world is so uneventful: it's full of those ghost-skinned people like those Gatekeepers guys

I can really bet Shiro's reason for going to Hideyoshi's era is simply to look up some skirts. Because if I was a dog like him, that's what I'd do *runs*

You guys peruse the main site lately? I wanted it, I got it , except the pic is so small lol. Enjoy the greatness that is Nobunaga in a school uniform:

I need all the pics on that page in higher res and lol at the yellowness that is Hideyoshi's disc artwork.

And guys, this wasn't posted before, right? Tell me my absence wasn't too much of an... absence

Did somebody say poll? Yoshimoto-chan is #1 in my book, because OF THE GREEN STOCKINGS AWHOOOOOOOOOOO *howls madder than Murdock*

Yeah, I only saw the beach one on Minitokyo, yet not here surprisingly. In this case #3 is in first! XD

Nobunaga would probably be in the school delinquent-class in Hideyoshi's world, lol.

Now we just need ones like Yoshimoto in a nurse uniform and others, lol. Though, in ways, we got Kenshin in a school uniform in the form of Kozue from Yosuga no Sora with her hair down and all, lol.

A bit weak for an ending, especially since we didn't get any info about Shiro.
But still nice.
Over all I found series enjoyable^^

Was this show censored? I'm asking, because I'm yet to watch it and I believe knowing that much is important before I do.

Yes, but there wasn't much to censor. It isn't really that kind of show, despite initial appearances.

Would you say I'm better off waiting for the BDs?

What do you mean by BD?
Anyway this chow doesn't even need censor because it is not fanservice full despite all the outfits. There were only few fanservice shots and even those were on small scale.

By BD I mean, Blu-rays, since they usually come de-censored.
But well, if there's no fanservice I guess I can watch it now.

I was surprised to see 2 figures come out of WF.

Hide Yoshino

Tokugawa Ieyasu

No clue if they are garage kits, one off figures, or other more esoteric and macabre processes associated with collecting bits of plastic from Japan.

They seem to like Ieyasu's spinning movement for her spells apparently.
