Episode LVII: Eternal Rest

Six more episodes to go...

Spoiler for Fu vs. Wrath:

It was comforting to watch Oliver Armstrong and Izumi engaging in conversation very freely. They quite got a lot in touch about the meaning of those becoming human sacrifices after opening up the 'Gate'. Exactly, why "Father" desperately needs the five sacrifices for its nationwide transmutation circle likely would be answered by next week or the week after.

Spoiler:

Who is exactly the Mysterious man who had a Gold tooth? Where did Izumi & the Elric Brothers disappeared too?! Can Wrath be stopped?! I can't believe what we just witness that Fu had just killed so easily by Bradley. Will we ever see Pride once again in the later episode?

Hope this show will be end this fall. Or maybe early 2011 <?>.

Only one of those questions can be answered without revealing spoilers. You should already remember Goldtooth is the alchemist who helped to create Bradley from the flashback in the episode. He was also the guy who showed up at Briggs with a Philosopher Stone to fix up Kimblee after Scar aerated him on the train.

And the show will be ending with episode 63 next month on the 27th.

He's not done yet: He's just been wounded (for the first time). Of course, he has no regeneration ability (because all the excess souls in his philosopher's stone were used up during the injection proccess as the stone repeatedly destroyed and regenerated his body.), so he's now heavily weakened.

Goldtooth is a scientist probably in his mid-late 80s that has been heavily involved for a very, very long time in Father and Central's plans, He was in charge of the program to raise and develop the Fuhrer candidates from nearly sixty years earlier, and he is also the man who Raven brought with him to Briggs to heal Kimblee's wounds from the fight with Scar on the train.

We don't really know much more about Goldtooth than that, but one could guess from the fact that he was in charge of the project which raised king bradley from childhood to adulthood, and his current location deep underneath Central near father's lair, that he has been in a position of power for a very very long time, and possibly has the highest authority among the individuals in father's inner circle, save for the homunculi themselves. One could infer that he is in a way the chief scientist/alchemist of amestris, in charge of all the scientific and alchemical research performed by the military, although this is never really stated outright. He's certainly in charge of the secret research that occurs directly under the orders of the central high command and father, at least

God, I should've known these all along! Better rewind back to the previous episodes.

Imagine what Wrath could do if he was able to regenerate.
He is the most scary and powerl homuncul there, he definetly tops my list among them

I'm surprised he doesn't have some sort of wicked nickname from his earlier days on the battlefield like "The One-eyed Devil" or something as he must have just demolished everybody. Can you imagine him being twice as fast?

Isn't being the Fuhrer enough of a title to hold?

Brig's soldier wouldn't go down without a fight!

It seems Lin's fight with Wrath continues in the next episode. Wonder whether Lafan will join in. I hope Lin wins!

Wow this episode was nuts, between the two fights, and the cliffhangers at the end.

No new thread for episode 58? It looks like animators decided to add some extra parts like the one with Olivier.

For those you've read the manga compared to this ep, I'll tell you what:-

- we’re ain't see Yoki fell down on the ground while running.
- ‘Central Building is Burning!’ Line had removed instead of just ‘Nii-san’ & brand new dialogue for Heinkel & Dr.marco.
