Haha yes, guess Komui can't play hookey as often now that a dashing beauty secretary is keeping him in check all the time He does seem more or less more susceptible to her warnings as compared to Reever & co's many fruitless attempts to get him working XD

Tapp's sister's entry was also a surprise, good to see a familiar face back reminding us of Tapp though, maybe it's Hoshino's way of commemorating him Although I didn't realise at all that she was a girl at first XD" until they included "sister" in the dialogue..
And it might just be me but anyone else sense a possibility of a Johnny/Tapp's sister romance in future? Just from the way he instantly became attached to her due to Tapp's resemblence..heh heh

Many great comedy moments in this week's issue, esp with the good old Kanda/Allen quarrels (anyone notice that their golems too were sending off glare sparks at each other when their masters were fighting? ahhh EPICALLY ADORABLE) The group's alarm at Kanda showing the slightest signs of consideration for someone else was also a classic moment

Not so merry with the subject of the 14th Noah though, the scene with Allen cutting in for Komui and announcing the possible decision for the order to kill him was honestly, heart wrenching. I'd say Hoshino planned out this scene really well, with the moment of revelation hitting the readers so perfectly (and painfully too).The shadowing of Allen's back and the concealing of his face as he made the announcement just further accentuated the despair and sadness of the situation as well, I mean to just blatantly say something like that about ur own life, how awful(total understatement) Allen must have felt at that moment, I really can't imagine.

Miranda’s really cute. She shake hand with the father not knowing to give him the password was so cute and funny. As usual, Allen and Kanda quarrel. Don’t even remember how many times they’ve quarrel on that day, commented by Link. Allen still look a bit down but a lot better than chapter 169 because Miranda cheer him up by giving him candies. The Asia branch guy knows Kanda and talk about someone related to Kanda, interesting. The order been informed about Allen been the 14th noah. Everyone’s quite shock (including Lenalee of course). Poor Allen for saying those word out to everyone.Still, Allen got friends on his side. Two new characters been introduced- Tapp’s sister and an attractive female secretary. Quite shock when Tapp’s sister been introduced. I’m also one of them that thought she was a he. Komui can’t skip his work now. The last 2 pages really interesting. Allen (searching for Tim) and Leverrier (sitting on the chair) meet each other at Cross’s murder room.

Overall, an interesting,funny,sad,surprising and suspicious chapter for this week. Really enjoy reading it. Btw, I’m glad that this week chapter quite long too. Hope there's/there're new noah/s introduce soon.

They might have off-screen, but I don't think they could do anything about it.

What could they possibly say that could convince them to change their minds?

The fact is Allen is indeed the container for the 14th, in addition to being an unknown Noah if Cross is correct, he would have to kill someone he loves.

Somewhere in Lavi and Bookman's conversation it just hit me with the possibility that the 14th could really be responsible for cross' suspected death, esp when Lavi goes" could it be..?" with that shocked look on his face. I mean he did witness Allen and Cross' meeting earlier so it wouldnt be completely unlogical for him to think it might be Allen (or the 14th inside him) that Cross is escaping from?

Allen's flashback to that night also heightened the scepticism towards the 14th.There was no dialogue or thoughts shown but something about Allen's expression just bugged me, particularly when he stood there staring at Cross' mask the conversation between them earlier just sprang to mind when Cross said that he might have to end up kiling someone he loves. Could this be hint that it really was the 14th that attacked Cross through Allen?(in the sense that Allen killed one of the people he loved=Cross)

One more thing to note was Tim, the scene with it missing Cross on his window sill, awweee>"<

Another depressing issue full of unsolved mystery and suspense I must say..
But what is UP with the new section chiefs?? LOL. One is a total pervert (god bless Lenalee) and the other makes a debut complaining about Science dept's hygiene when he's wafting stink auras himself..feels like we have two new slightly unlikeable characters to add to the series lmao

Lavi's new hammer is shown on the colour cover, but mehh-_ - Have to admit not that big on the new design..still prefer the original b&w better..

And lol at Rouvellier's cake. But OMG!Could this be the first time ever Allen actually turned down a chance to snack??XDD Was a bit surprised when he ignored the offer, thinking that he'd go jumping after it like usual haha (but suppose it was only natural, given the atmosphere and situation of the scene)

Personally, I am enjoying this change of pace for the manga. We have gone from overwhelming odds in battle against a deadly, sinister foe to a homecoming filled with suspicion, lies, and double meanings. A very radical turn in the series, and in my mind, it makes it even deeper.

Now as for chp.171

Did anyone notice the hate-filled glance Allen shot Leverrier at the top of pg.16, after the secretary suggested that it was the 14th who attacked/killed Cross?

It seemed to me that those were not Allen's eyes at all but the eyes of something else (yes I am suggesting that it might be a manifestation of the 14th). Those eyes seemed to promise destruction and death.

On the other hand, I could just be seeing an extremely angry, despair-filled allen.

How in the world would Judgment not be synced with Cross? Did he somehow cause it to desync himself, so as to leave a false trail for anyone investigating him. Or do Central or the Noahs/Earl have the ability to desync innocence?

The colour page seems ok; Hoshino became better drawing with colours. Can’t say that I am impressed with Lavi's new hammer, but I guess it will just need some getting used to.

Lvellie comment to Allen seemed more or less like a tease, as he already confirmed that he knows that central were the ones who killed Cross (even though his disappearance was announced as a trip to central, the bookman seemed to know of the truth and tried to act cautiously) though it raises the question of what will happen to Judgment and what is the 3rd side of the war (and also what exactly will happen to Grave of Maria).

As for the Akuma egg, I was surprised to learn that he had Renee rebuilt it. She seemed to be the type to refuse such an offer back when she was first introduced.

The introduction of the new characters seems to be going on, with Peck (who seems to be an enhanced version of Bak) and Mark. But I can’t say I like any of the two. When will they start to hunt for new Exorcist? I mean there are only 20 of them right now. You'd think that we'd have some by now.

From the looks of though, the next time Cross appears, he mabey contorled in the same way he contorls Maria.

Poor Tim, miss Cross so much. So Link with Leverrier in the room afterall, I thought only Leverrier alone in that room. Another 2 new character been introduced, but they are not like Tapp’s sister and the sexy assistant, 1 of them is a pervert while the other seems not an easy person to work with. Lenalee became even cuter just after 10 days. Reever and Lenalee also thought that Tapp’s sister is Tapp, they expression were cute. The conversation between Lavi and Bookman was interesting and dark. So, Cross no longer a compatible of judgment, quite sad. The Generals in new uniform were awesome too. So the order suspect that Cross incident was related to Central. Allen’s quite dark in this chapter which is quite scary. Not only the order but Leverrier also suspect the Central involved in Cross’s incident. It not related to Leverrier this time. The North American branch head renee had received the piece of the akuma egg and she shall fulfill Leverreir expectation without fail.

Allen’s back to top 1 on the popularity chart. Kanda’s 2nd. While Lavi and Lenalee remain at 3rd and 4th place from the 1st and 2nd popularity contest. The 5th is Krory. Miranda’s the next after Krory. Tyki been beaten by Krory and Miranda.

I just found out that in the manga, Lenalee, Lavi and Krory didn’t saw Lulubell at all since Lulubell reappear at the end of noah ark arc and HQ under siege arc. In the anime, the 3 of them did encounter Lulubell. Quite a surprise.

Another awesome chapter of D.Gray Man. Looking forward for next week’s chapter.
