I think it says there "second PV01" or "Part 2 PV01" or something. So it's likely the second section of PV01?

I think there are new stuff in here from memory, but mostly things we've seen IIRC.

The video itself is newly uploaded by Bandai though the footage is apparently mostly re-used.

Uploaded to Bandai's channel, yes. The original "2nd Season PV" we saw was uploaded to the Gundaminfo channel. It's the same preview. There's nothing new.

Let's not forget that before IBO, the fairly recent anime Free! (from Kyoani) is a popular show where a group of male MCs didn't only show their macho abs but also show the rest of their bodies by wearing speedos . So, macho men (or boys) have always been on demand in Japan as long as they did it right .

I haven't watched Free! yet but I am well aware of their awesome abs.

And I guess Dragon Ball Z too, back in the day. Hell, a lot of anime had it back in those times.

Thing is tho there is huge difference between Free and IBO, Free top the female ranks before it aired, IBO has top the male ranks, which is not shocking since the show has themes that guys would like.

Still, depends on the execution.

Free! by the end of its two season anime, managed to cater both of its male and female audience in Japan to look for its source material which turned out to be really good (even my friend who thought its just a story about swimming, with fanservice for girls, surprised). Its good enough to the point both old and new readers (who knew it from anime) asking publisher help to convince the writer to tell their story a bit further as the anime take place years after source material.

So, its okay as long as they did it right, not limited to female or male only audiences.

Well can't argue that, as a guy I too liked Free, so I had no issue on why some guys made a big deal about the anime
