And today announcement is clear for me. There will be no new FMP series, never. Atleast not until Chidori is changed to some brainless girl that trip herself every few steps.

I think you're mistaken- Even then there would still be no new FMP series, ever.

The Gundam and Gonzo announcements are separate, just mentioned in the same article. Gonzo animated the first season of FMP, and since we're hoping for more, it very much IS on topic for this thread.

Doesn't Kyoto Animation hold the intellectual rights for the anime?

And the Sigma manga is now complete and readable online to anyone else who didn't know until five minutes ago like me!

I believe technically Kadokawa does. I guess it depends on just what exactly the contract with KyoAni was in regards to it, but Gonzo did the first season of the anime, so no idea.

99.9999% chance that this is is no way related to FMP. I want more FMP as much as anyone else in this thread but it's been so long that it's very likely never to happen. Can we move on please?

Feel free to move on, but like a famous sitcom opening once said: "you're not the boss of me now." And really, it hasn't been that long. The Second Raid was 2005, so we're not even at a decade yet. Mushishi also aired in 2005 it's getting an S2 this spring.

There is nothing wrong with hoping. Gatoh didn't flat out reject a new season. If he did then you should give up on it.

OMG! My hopes are raised once over again. I can't remember how many times I was hoping that the announcement is about FMP! next season xD

Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up with that. I don't even know what Gonzo announced, but March 22 has come and gone, along with one of the largest anime cons in Japan.
