the number 1 design i simply adore would have to be:

Zeta.
>never knew suits could be powered up by dead spirits..LOL, but it was really thanks to the bio~sensor, four and the others were just kinda along for the ride.

probably followed by Scirocco's The~O

then there's Gato's GP-02 Physallis; that dreaded nuclear weapon wielding gundam, and to top it all of, that bulky design, huge boosters on the shoulder as well as large feet~~

and let's not forget one of the most advance suits in 0083, probably more advance than any grunt suits from aeug, the federation or axis, i am, ofcourse, talking about the Neue Ziel

number 5 would be Harry Ord's Sumo.. the supposedly main mecha of turn A.

1. Unicorn - so full of surprises, sexy in either model. If all those decals don't kill me, of course. A masterpiece of design.
2. Zeta - Loved it ever since I was 4. Redefined Gundam design, enough said. Well, the Zeta Pluses are fun too.
3. Exia - compact, detailed and original.
4. 00 Gundam - close with Exia, but its just not as detailed. Still, the articulation is amazing and its a sleek design.
5. Hi-nu. The fin funnel wings are a lot of fun, and the design predates the Freedom, Destiny and their ilk.
6. S-Gundam. Just sexy as hell with its yellow side things on the head.

As far as I go, I think I like the Turn A design simply because it's so different. It seems to be the end result of thousands of GUndam designs. Think about it, the original RX-78 is basically a bunch of blocks. Going through Zeta, ZZ, CC, F91, V and all the other series that followed, the Gundams eventually began to become more sleek and in some cases, practically streamlined. To me, Turn A seems to be the end result of the growing sleekness of Gundam design. Yeah, the moustache is just plain goofy, but it's a trait that helps it stand out from the other Gundams, which to the untrained eye, all look alike. There's a reason Mead was called to design the Turn A. Tomino wanted something truly different from the Gundam norm, and it's what we got.

Also, you forgot to put the rest of the paragraph in...

"... however, it is designed to be a figure like the fire of Prometheus. With the moonrace using a lot of old age technology uncovered from mountain cycle that hides superior machines from the old world, the suit was also designed to be outstanding but looking like the ones moonrace possess, acting like a Deus ex Machina where the inferior earthnoids obtained by luck."

Also,
"Industrial designer Syd Mead designed these mecha with the view of simple and realistic, instead of following Japanese trend of mecha like designs, he introduced more industrial design methods into the mechas. "

I'd say he did his job quite well in designing Turn A. Seems to me he's the only guy in US who designs a Gundam that managed to make it's way into the Japanese anime industry.

And may I add that the Turn A was made the 100th MG model, which is also an accomplishment.

Now, on topic:

My favourite MS designs;
- Gundam Exia (Sunrise should come up with more true, melee-combat Gundams)
- Gundam Dynames (Snipers... with a third eye. What's not to love?)
- Gundam Ez-8 (Love the way it's design stands out from the Ground Gundams ala soldiers and a commander)
- Kampfer (Blue Power!)
- Union OverFlag (You know what they say, slap black on any machine and the cool factor rises by 200%)
- Gundam Heavyarms (To me, this Gundam is like a brother to the Kampfer)

Alright I've come to a conclusion. Immediately after seeing the appearance of this thread a week or so ago, I knew which mecha were my favourite. But I tried to think of other designs that I favour as much and found that I couldn't.

Turn A and Turn X are my favourite designs. They aesthetically beautiful and looks as futuristic as it works. Despite the amount of hax they carry, they are extremely practical.

And yes Syd Mead is really talented at such futuristic designs.

My top 5 picks:
- RX-78-2 Evolve 15 Version (Oh My God. That Evolve α boxart. My God.)
- SUMO (HA! I remembered! UNIVERRRRSE! Though I liked Harry vs Mahiroo Squad way more.)
- Infinite Justice (I'm a melee nut. As impractical as that sounds.)
- God Gundam (It grew on me, and it wasn't a bad design in the first place.)
And my favourite, the Hyaku Shiki. It was cool as all hell the first time I saw it, in the AEUG vs Titans game, not to mention really awesome moves that were all showy and didn't do much damage(the Red Comet kick is my personal favourite). And that time I didn't even know who the heck was Char!

Advanced GN-X : I like the edgy look and its got pointy things sticking out of its body, it also has claws instead of hands

Blue Destiny Unit 2/3 : I like the Rx-79's design but I've always felt like it was missing something. The BD counter parts gave it some extra "muscles" and a better look.

FA Hyaku Shiki Kai : I like bulky and loaded looking MS ^^

ZII : Zeta and Methuss's love child XD

The reason why the colour blue was choosen had been repeated times and before throughout the multiple games the series had appeared in.

If you must know, the creator of EXAM,Chlust Morses, has a penchant for the colour Blue. So he demand that every Suit that carried the EXAM be painted in deep Azure, except for unit 3 which was rushed into combat.

I mean, it's stated as part of the profile for Blue Destiny 1-3 in all the games I've played featuring the suit.

This is one long list to choose from.

-RX-78: I don't get how you can't like this. Every other Gundam is somehow based on it. It's like G1 Optimus Prime.
-Zeta: Really sharp and edgy.
-Nu: My favorite Gundam. Has an all around good design.
-V2: The real wings of light are with this.
-Shining Gundam: Really like the futuristic samurai look, especially in Super mode.
-Deathscythe Hell: Its name and beam scissors.
-Wing Gundam Zero: Asthetic wise would be Ver. Ka., but Tv ver. since Ver. Ka kinda doesn't make sense.
-Turn X: Really well done and realistic design. Love the Shining Finger and body bits.
-Freedom: Really well balanced.
-Destiny: Even though everything about it is taken from something else I still like it.
-Gadessa: Tekkaman
-Gaplant TR-5: Lots of stuff. The thin and bulk contrast is cool.

Even though EXAM Radiates Red Light....weird...The only game I played that have Blue Destiny is GUndam Encounters in Space...But I didn't notice it got that kind of explanation of the suits like that...

ah, anyway, thanks for your explanation...
