I as a big fan of genshiken thing that, part two of manga [if it can be divided into two parts] is better than the first one.
Spoiler for manga:
That's why I should say genshiken2 is going to be better anime than first season for me. I have to say just one thing, if they are going to folow the manga's plot it will be seriously a great successor

Ep3

I went to Comike only once in the summer in my entire life.
My experience? Well, I looked like what Kuchiki looked like in this episode.
Hot, sweaty, stinky, standing in the line with 500 thousand (yes, you read that correctly... over FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND Otaku gather for this massive event over the course of 3 days) geeks for hours under the sun with no AC. I thought I was gonna die. No, literally.
I will never go to a summer Comike again.

Genshiken's "Comifes" didnt' look nearly as packed as the real Comike, but that may just be because drawing hundreds of thousands of mobs in packed space is asking way too much from a TV anime show.

Oh, and last but not least......
Spoiler:

*cries*

Liked ep 3 more than the previous episodes because I felt the pace for those eps were a bit slow. Looking at the preview looks like another good episode to look forward to.

How's showing the time a parody? I think you're looking to much into it.

I see no problem at all with the first three episodes --- so i'm guessing what you're not finding 'energetic' is this actually part of the story, maybe?

Nah, the time thing was defenitly a 24 parody. The way it inserts it between the key points, the way it changes by the minute, heck it even uses the exact same sound font! Majority of Japanese reviewers caught that too. (Yes, 24 is aired in Japan, dubbed in Japanese. The Japanese VA for Jack is none other than Rikiya Koyama who played Hakuoro-san in Utawarerumono )
But then again, parodies are perfectly fitting for this show's theme. Along with the Eva font, Lucky Star doujin, OP, etc.

As for pulling the director... I disagree.
This second season has been going excellent, both in pacing and direction.
It's most definitly in the top five most enjoyable anime this season, at least for me.

I dunno...I'm just not getting the same vibe that I did from the OVA and the manga. Feels like the humor isn't quite as sharp this time around. It might also be the fact that Sasahara just isn't that strong a lead character...he's way too humble to deliver any sort of impact, be it dramatic or comical.

I'm probably jumping the gun here, so I'll give it a few more episodes before writing it off. Next ep seems Ohno/Tanaka-centric, so that might pick things up.

I went this August and I'll second that. Tokyo in the summer, never again (but flights already booked for December, though I can probably only make it to Comiket on Sunday).

The second season has felt more like a reality show than an anime so far. But I like it, I think both this and the former style suit the series. But I'll agree that more showing of assets would have been warranted.

I think that's the idea.

The change made some of the comments of Madarame and Sasahara seem 'flat'. Especially the 'nose bleed' comment. While Kousaka looked cute, he didn't look 'nose bleed'-worthy without the bare midriff. Now if they did the cosplay like the manga, THAT would be a trap.

Spoiler for episode 3:
Pause it and look at the doujin closely and you'll see "イクでがんす?" [ikudegansu?] as the title. That is what Miyuki says in the beginning of each Lucky☆Star episode until number 15 when it's changed to the "3-年、B-組" [3-nen, B-gumi] intro.

Thus far Genshiken's done its job in making me yearn for a freaking Chairman doji pretty damn badly.

And Saki shower scene.

Lot more fanservice then I remember.

Humm, fanservice... yeah I agree with you, I was thinking the exact same thing while watching the scene. I just hope they don't ruin the show just thinking in the fanservice fanbase

But this season's looking pretty good to me, especially this third episode, so far it was the best, I hope it continues cool like this.

BTW, how many episodes will be? 12?

Yes, how dare they have fan service in a show about perverted youngsters drawing adult porno doujinshi to sell in a comic festival event.
[/sarcasm]

Was a pretty good episode, but like a few others said it was alittle said the humor of the manga didn't quite translate aswell as i'd have liked....Oh well.

Did make me feel all over again that they should of kept the original unbalance character designs and not replace some of them with rather blah looking ones...

You mean how the anime managed to change the doujin into something else? That's why some companies shouldn't be allowed to make an anime version of a manga and it's not the only thing they censored obviously (see trap cosplay).
