Sonic Lost World [Wii U + 3DS]
The next main title of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has finally been announced. It is a Wii U and 3DS exclusive as a part of a Nintendo and SEGA partnership, and is titled "Sonic Lost World". What this partnership entails is they the next 3 Sonic titles will be released exclusively on Nintendo consoles, this game being the first of the three.
This is the first screenshot shown of the game: No further information is available at the time other than it will be a main-line 3D platforming game, but more should be on the way soon enough. Source: http://www.siliconera.com/2013/05/17...ic-lost-world/

Yeah, that's true. I do like Jun Senoue's soundtracks. I hope that this game gives a more active role to Shadow instead of a stage cameo like in generations, without the need of riding vehicles and shooting guns.

New Sonic game sweet. I really hope that this game (along with many others) will help put the Wii-u back on the map, since many haven't been paying attention to it due to lack of games not being releases at this time, and also the weird decision making they've been doing as of late.
With E3 just around the corner, I look forward to seeing where this will be going. Generations and Colors were amazing, and I hope this will deliver, as well. Quote:

*Controls were incredibly floaty *levels were bland straight lines with very little room for variation *fishing was a dumb idea *Tails was a dumb 2-player mode without there actually being a second player *they split speed, platforming and exploration respectively among Sonic/Tails, Amy and Knuckles rather than all characters having all 3 like in the classics, diminishing the experience in the game *they put in a 3rd-person shooter/platforming hybrid with Gamma but they poorly executed it |

I won't deny that I enjoyed the Adventure series myself, but looking back they actually have many glitches and design flaws similar to those in Sonic 2006. |

Maybe something like Sonic adventure story wise and character use wise. I feel that the new voice cast hasn't been really broken in yet besides Sonic, Tails, and Eggman (every time I hear these 3 talk, Sonic and Tails, you feel like you're watching something from Viz Media, but then when you hear Mike Pollock you're like, THIS IS LIKE THE BEST SONIC X EPISODE EVER!)

Let me put it another way:
The same physics engine used to create the Sonic Adventure games was also used to create Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 2006. It's clear Sega didn't really know how to approach the transition to 3D gaming, which is why they experimented so much with the different modes in the Adventure games. They thought they struck gold with how well the Adventure games did, which is why they tried more of the same level design in Heroes, Shadow, and 2006, but those didn't do so well. That's why they tried something new with the on-rails style in Secret Rings and Black Knight, but those didn't do so well either. Those failed just the same, so that's when they tried something different again in Unleashed. People liked the 3D Sonic Rush style in the PS360 version of Unleashed, so that's when they finally stuck with something and brought it over to Colors and Generations. |

It wasn't superior. The daytime levels were essentially a rehash of Secret Rings/Black Knight's style.
People even joked that Colors being a Wii exclusive was Sega's apology for giving Wii owners the inferior version of Unleashed. Gamma's was fine, but Tails and Eggman's combat in Adventure 2 was not. The levels were far larger and they were much slower, leaving a mediocre 3d shooter that does not fit into a Sonic game. Of course, Omega's segments in 2006 were even worse. |

New bit of info. We get a picture of silhouettes of 6 new characters.
They are apparently the "guardians" of the Lost World, which is the planet in the background. Also, more game details will be disclosed on May 29th.
