Fully supportive of that effort. I hate the updates. The BluRay updates to the OT were just atrocious.

I, fortunately, have the original originals on the mid-2000s DVD release (when the original originals were on the bonus discs). They are the only versions of the OT I will watch, even though I have the BluRays.

What is so wrong about the new versions? Can someone tell me some examples? From what I remember from the 2004 edit, I did not see that much wrong. Some things were actually even improved over time, IMO, like the fact that the in-universe texts were made more "sci-fiy" instead of just plain English. Since I really like some of the Star Wars games, I also had no problems with the remodeling of alien creatures.

The only bad edits I noticed myself are "Han not shooting first" and "Anakin's Ghost at the end of EP-VI". So can anyone tell me what, aside from this and the nostalgia factor, is causing all those commotions about the edits?

And if anyone actually complains about the "new version" of the EP-V modell of the Emperor, then I can really just chalk it down to nostalgia, so I really hope there are some actual reasons for this commotion.

"One of the most amusing aspects of the book is when it reveals what a huge
role serendipity played in “Star Wars.” Lucas initially ruled out Harrison Ford
because he thought the audience would be distracted if any cast member from
“American Graffiti” (in which Ford had a tiny part) turned up in his next one. Ford,
unemployed, had returned to his trade, which was carpentry.

One of his gigs was at the American Zoetrope offices where Lucas was having
casting meetings.

Casting director Fred Roos wasn’t being passive-aggressive when he hired Ford
for the carpentry job: The office, he said, simply needed a new door. Spotted by
Lucas, Ford not only installed one, but stepped through another: into a galaxy
far, far away. Imagine what a different set of films would have resulted if Lucas

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII TITLE REVEALED AS THE FORCE AWAKENS

Lucasfilm has revealed the title of Star Wars: Episode VII and it is ... Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The title reveal was announced today via StarWars.com.

Principal Photography recently wrapped on the J.J. Abrams-directed film, with the rumor mill saying we'll get our first teaser trailer for The Force Awakens soon.
