You know the urban legend that married men are targeted for seduction more often; according to the rationale that "if someone was willing to marry this guy, surely he is exciting in some way".
Since Kyon was chosen by god, any girl who knows about Haruhi must surely wonder about Kyon's... mojo.

I never said that, I was just correcting the age thing. As for the Melancholy ending, Kyon has a tendency to, y'know, pretend that never happened. Besides, Haruhi presumably remembers the whole thing. Would be a bad idea if he acknowledged it really happened.

Haruhi wouldn't have believed that.

This has implications beyond Haruhi knowing Kyon kissed her. This has to do with Haruhi suspecting that what she "dreamed" about might have actually happened.
