Chouji and Neji [manga]

to just kill 2 semi characters in the manga in 1 draw is abit too overboard... though they really look "dead", they still can be healed i guess.. somemore its only the 4 sound. if its itachi, the whole of konoha will be gone i suppose..

I picked both of them will be alive, because remember at the beginning of the arc when they began to search for sasuke...
There were four Jounins and two of them fought the sound ninjas and the other 2 didnt...
They said something like how can both of them be defeated or something? But I forgot her name, I think it was Shizune . She did some kind of jutsu and I think it was suppose to heal the injured jounin. So I think she might be a medic.
If she is that means she can save all of the genins, like Chouji and Neji. I think it is in chapter 185 or somewhere around there. So this is why I think both of them will be save.

hm. I don't think its right for them to make a big deal. saying that chouji will deffitetly die if he takes that pill. and I think the butterfly was symbolic. I'm hopping that the death will make Ino feel bad for always making fun of him, and will make Shikamaru work harder as a result.

I haven't seen read the manga but i seriously don't think that they're dead because Naruto is a kids manga and maincharacters never dies in them almost never. And you can say that the genins in naruto are all main characters

Naruto isn't a kid's manga. I don't think you would have people saying "Go into the forest to jack off, fatass" in a kids manga, do you? Plus, I'm pretty sure shonen jump is seen as for young adult boys. like 13 - 15 area. but there are always exceptions. and main characters die. Hokage-sama died. Haku. I'm sure there will be more as well. (god forbid).

If you haven't noticed a kids manga doesn't usually have this much blood and violence in it...
Nor a complicated storyline and character development.
Neji and Chouji could both die, but thats 2 interesting characters gone...
I doubt killing off characters is the best way for a mang to go...

Which is why I think they both live...

Chouji popped a pill to get strong enough to defeat his opponent. Neji defeated his opponent with skill.

If Chouji doesnt die*, then noones gonna be taking Naruto very seriously anymore.

* Unless someone intervenes, i.e a medical ninja.

It would seriously come as a surprise to me if either of them died. It just doesn't seem like something that would happen even though it looks that way. There's too much story built behind these 2 characters to just kill them off all of a sudden. They are both facing their demons... Neji faced his by going against his fate and chouji faced his by realizing shikas acceptance/friendship. Not to mention it's the worse time for more ninjas to die, Konoha is in short supply of them as it is. Furthermore killing them off would only give Tsunade more grief having sent 2 genins to their deaths after coming home to Konoha to run the village, that would be a pretty shitty start as being a leader no?

Japan has differet standards, which is obvious.I was saying KIDS in terms of 6-17, some Shonens like Naruto and Yu Yu Hakusho are more for teenagers.That isn't important though and we should stay on topic.

Becuase they didnt show them dead yet, thats why. They pass out, but don't die..yet anyways...hehe but for realy they are both making it threw this arc. The warning on the red pill doesnt really mean he'll die, it is a family clan secret technigue. It's just a super mega soldier pill. the warning for the pill was probably exagerated when told to Chouji because his parents didn't want him using it unless total nessecary and make him understand that if he uses it he really could die. Neij, well Neij is just too smart to die. He did avoid a critical hit with that last blow, If it was going to kill him no matter how it hit him neij would have just taken the hit and then done his move and not worried about a critical hit.

Also, Shikamaru would never get in trouble for getting his team beat up in this situation, so far taking on 5 seal lvl 2 monsters and not losing sasuke yet not getting killed instantly and forcing them into one on one battles(or one vs twins sharing a body). The mear fact any of them survives this makes shiku a good leader he did all the strat, picking the right people, the formation, who was where, who looks at what, keeping anruto from stepping on the traps, that planed fake capture then shadow bind though not a total succes worked very well in the long run. making it to turn out to 1 vs 1 and not a 4 vs 5 battle royal which they would have lost right off, (genjutsu flute and and the rest go for the kill)

Not to mention that when they did kill a major charactor the 3rd, it took 5 episodes of cut toos and that if those 2 die to 2 of Oro's guards then there is no way naruto or sasuke are ever going to beat oro or itachi or any of the other akatsuki people. It's going to be boring if there are only naruto and sasuke strong enough to fight those guys from all those very talented genin.

Finaly, if those 4 didnt even kill off those 2 hunin they beat in a flash why would 2 main characters die in 1 on 1 fights. Also we don't know for sure that the sand people dont have any healing jutsu, they dont say either way and temari was caring that healing medicine before the big garaa vs sasuke fight.

AND IT NEVER SAYS THE SAND ONLY SENT Garaa, Kankuro, and Temari
maybe they brought a few new people, who might not be anything more then extra characters that are bringing those 2 back to konoha already.

side note: the 3 man teams are really for man teams 3 genin one junin to look after them and in battle its four man team, with the recently talked about new rule of a medical specialist that konoha added.

chouji should die, if not bullocks, lol. Here is the reasons why:

He says hes gonna die: You dont say your definetly gonna die, make a big deal out of it, and then not die. Thats like Lee opening 8gates and then not dying, thats bullocks.

Theres all those flashbacks likes its trying to show him go out in a blaze of glory: Yes, usually when they make a big of a deal about someone like that, its the writers way of trying to make the people really feel for him so his death will mean something.

Hes not a semi-main character. Neji is a semi-main character, shikimaru is semi main character, chouji is not. Think about it, what has been shown of him so far? Nothing, just jokes here and there. If you look at favourite characters poll, Im not even sure if he manage to pull off top 30 whilst neji pulled 6th. On the first poll chouji didnt make top 30 whilst neji came 12th, 3polls after that I only have top 15 and chouji is not there, neji's highest pos was 6th.

The butterfly symbol: The butterfly symbolises the death.

A sacrifice need to be made: yes, if no one dies, no one can take naruto seriously anymore. Everyone just gonna see it as one of those lame manga where everything is fine and dandy in fairyland. There needs to be sacrifices to show there are consequences. DBZ turned into that when sensu beans came in.

Now, why is neji alive?

He has a dream: He needs to break his fate..he needs to prove that a caged bird can fly again one day. naruto is one of those animes that seems to try to teach morals, what kind of morals would it be teaching if it proves you cannot go against fate..it'll show neji was right as he never achieved his goal. To break that seal.

A genius: His the most genius of all hyugaa, killing off such a character will mess up the story. The hyugaa are a very interesting clan and to wipe off its main guy will bite off a chunk from the story.

His well developed: The creator spent alot of time giving neji a personality, a history, an "identity". His not gonna wipe it all out b4 he has a chance to show him off.

His a fav character: Top 6 is a pretty darn good rank, that means out of all characters tehre he is the 6th favourite. Thats alot of angry fans or perhaps even lost fans if hes killed off.

And I agree naruto is a kids show, but its no more a kid show than dbz. If DBZ was a kids show, then DB was a childs show. Still I think naruto age ranges from 10+, it has violence and perhaps vulgar stuff that would be unsuitable for ages below that. Maybe when it enters cartoon network it'll be a childs show

I agree with you. I think that he shouldn't have made such a big deal over taking the red pill if he wasn't going to die. I think they'll end up putting his name on the memorial. He became a hero. He died doing what was right, which is honorable. On a related note, Shikamaru recently became like the 4th most popular, or something ridiculous. He was higher than Sakura, ect. I find that amusing, because at one point, he was really low. like in 54th place. heehee. I think Kishimoto did a good job at developing his character. He's almost main now.
