Well expecting to win a tournament like this is the type of thinking that makes you end up losing. No game is a certain win, but he proved his decision right. Spain was on fire, or you could say Villa was on fire.
Villa is one of my favourite strikers, and he's going to be available soon. I dislike Liverpool, but don't you think it'd be smart if they were to go out and get him? The Villa and Torres partnership has proven to be one of the top partnerships, so why not go all out to try and obtain Villa? Sure they have Kuyt, but he's a different type of striker. |

(I still don't understand how people can dislike a humble and passionate team (most of the time) like Liverpool, while their more arrogant (and dare I say, "soulless") rivals gets away with all the luck and trophies. Not asking people to blindly worship Liverpool and their sometimes "weird" Scouse culture and accents, but there should at least be some respect between the rivals. But anyway, this rant reeks of my bias, and that's another debate all together. ) Sure, Villa would be ideal for coming to Liverpool, but doubts remain as to whether his physique is bulky enough to withstand the tough physicalness of the Premier League. Torres clearly passed that test with flying colours in his 1st year. Benitez probably has Villa on his shortlist, but ultimately, it's up to the two childish American goons who are still officially in charge of this club to release the funds needed to procure Villa's services, whose price has no doubt sky-rocketed after this hat-trick. In the end, it's up to Villa himself as well. Back to today's Euro 2008, not a bad game, congrats to the Portuguese on winning. The Czechs will have to see what happens between Switzerland and Turkey now playing to determine how they'll get through in their next match against the Turks. |

The first swiss goal was kinda lol. A water puddle conveniently stopped the ball right in front of the turkish goalpost, a swiss seized the golden opportunity and PROFIT.

I loved the first Swiss goal. I was laughing so hard, Yakkim had it handed to him on a silver plater! Shame for the Swiss though, they played a great game and to lose it like they did was another unfortunate loss.
As for Liverpool, it all depends on what your shown as a kid. As a kid on TV all I seen was Man Utd games so I started to follow them (this is only EPL though, not a Man Utd fan). My buddy is a Liverpool fan so it's fun to jibe him when everything seemingly goes wrong for Liverpool. |

I feel sorry for the Swiss team, I have liked it a lot since USA'94. On the other hand, I wish the Czech would qualify, but I doubt they'll be able to win Turkey. They have gone downhill since last Euro; I fear this might be the beginning of a Hungarian-like crisis, and that would be pitiful.

Today's main event is Croatia vs Germany. THe last time these 2 teams met on a big tournament was in France '98 where Croatia won 3-0. Predicting an even and interresting match.

I think that has to be the worst display I've seen by the Germans for a very long time. Everything was going wrong, while Croatia got everything right, winning almost 9 out of 10 headers, and it was all over after Lehmann made that ridiculous howler, meaning Podolski's goal afterwards was only consolation.
