That was sort of my issue. They already established that the ribbon draws energy to power the halberd attacks. Could have had a joint attack drawing strength from both Kazuki and Tokika but went for bankai instead. I am hoping you are right about the rest of the story.

Thankfully Tokika appears more often than Soi Fon does in Bleach, so I at least have my angry eye candy.

oh yea...left off from last time we see kazuki going into SS black kakugane mode ~

tokiko is left shocked at what heppened...so kazuki is the same as victor...well they both begin to absorb energy which catches tokiko out...she is now even more weak and i barely able to remain concious...

kazuki launches the first attacks kicking victor in the face ~ next he slams him into the wall and bounces up tring to activae this busou renkin...but victor goes beserk and grabs his arm...and with his axe...chops it off along with the kakugane (hell this is gona give me nightmares >.<) well kazuki uses his powers to get the kakugane back while injuring victor at the same time...kazuki falls to the roof and catches victors severed limb O.o he then attatches it as it was his limb O.o...victor also regens...

this is where the battle begins states victor...he talks to kazuki casually saying that its been a while since he met someone strong but also its been a while that hes seen the world...leaving it at that he escapes kazuki tries to chase after him but running past tokiko she snaps out of her trance like state and grabs onto kazuki's back ~ this got him back to his senses and he realises that he is still absorbing the energies of his friends...tokiko tells him to return and come back...he holds her as she falls and his kakugane shatters releasing his tough outer layer and returning him back to himself...

and now...papillon flies up enraged screaming "kazuuki!" O.o he cant believe how much power kazuki has obtained and in his fit he coughs blood (ROFL) and falls down ~ a nice bit of comedy...
but seriously papillon is kinda jealous that kazuki is the same type as victor and screams out "how dare you" well tokiko threatens him and he steps down with a grin...well kazuki hugging tokiko tells her to go back (she blushes! )

well everyone is fine but papillon still blames kazuki for some of the damage done...he tries to make his escape screaming his line "papillon!" ~ kazuki grabs onto his foot and tell him to stay and help...lol

back in the base moonface is still fighting bravo...and it looks bad for bravo O.o he returns back to his original form and uses the spare kakugane to wrap the base with is silver skin...moonface tries to spaz out but he is caught in a net ~ LOL serves the bastard right...well bravo punches the net and it cracks all over...

back on the road we see tokiko taking a bike to the base...and kazuki hanging onto papillon's leg haha! he sure knows how to hitch hike ^_^ but suddenly the base blows up near them and we see moon face and his copies flying up withing a white light ~ well bravo emerges with moonface captured...i guess his kakugane blew up he is then treated like garbage...good riddence!

well papillon still carries on saying that kazuki isnt human...and he takes his leave stating that he will be back ~

later than night it seems that the news is hot on what happened earlier...bravo tells that even tho kazuki screwed up a bit...at the end of the day they saved everyone and that deserves a pat on the back ~

the next day it seems that everything is back to normal...a bit too normal the gang is going to the beach but tokiko is unhappy about the idea...haha she is soo cute when blushing :3
still kazuki cant forget about victor and it bothers him greatly...but at least for now everyone is fine...

tokiko and kazuki discuss matter in his room...he tells her not to worry and that they and bravo wil surely find a way...

at the beach...everyone goes ga ga over the girls...and even kazuki cant stop staring at tokiko...but she still has her kakugane attatched to her wrist...how cute!
and just when we thought it couldnt get any stranger bravo comes surfing in

...just then a surfer guy walks out of the sea and past tokiko...from the shock look on tokiko's face its definatly no good...her tells to meet him later...

dam...not as good as ive hoped for it to be but still the added comedy bits was a bonus and as for the new ED...wtf O.o...im getting higurashi vibes!...bring back the old one >.<

For starters I do praise how the battles are conducted in BR. Fast, stylized, and to finish with few turn-kills.

I'm too tired of the Dragonball effects; powering-up to levels of insanity to wipe out enemy off the map with a power of mass destruction, but is blast after blast and punch after punch and the fight leads nowhere for the plot to break through and advance.

Good thing that Victor called for a quit for a next time or else many would have gotten shocked for the stunning chopping off limbs flying anywhere.

But anyways for being a too short battle it was very cool and stylish, not to forget that the score played fitted the atmosphere of epic foreboding, and as I did previously mentioned Tokiko played the pivotal part to contain Kazuki and return him back from his warlike state.
She may not admit it, but her warming for feeling to Kazuki is evident, particularly when Kazuki kepts her embrace on his arms and pulls her face onto his bare chest, and it was a priceless expression to see Tokiko blushing.

The theme discussed for this episode is that Kazuki must rationalize that he's becoming not unlike Victor and has to fear since he's gone this far, chances are dimming that there won't be hopes for him to restore back his humanity now that he's black Kakugane is awakened.

Of course, this doesn't bode well with Papillion because his nemesis (Kazuki) has achieved a greater level of evolutionary existence, beating him (Papillion) once more to it, and what makes Papillion sick is that Kazuki wants to return back to be an ordinary boy once he's done with the mess that Victor intends to wreak upon the world.

Ok. Those were my views for the serious stuff. Now let's move to the funny stuff.
1. Kazuki hitching a ride fly on Papillion's leg.
2. Tokiko pulling all out homicidal faces, because she doesn't want to go the beach in a swimsuit where she's going to attract the looks of perverts.


3. Tokiko going all sweaty embarrassed because Kazuki pointed out that is his first time to see her wearing a swimsuit.


Well, well! The first part's finished and so the L.X.E. too, however, Victor still stands alive and also the other players who are shown in the opening have yet to appear.

And judging from Tokiko's erratic reaction to the surfer dude, then there's more trouble cooking up.

For anyone who might be curious about the new ending song's title it is Itoshiki Sekai, and I do also feel the Higurashi vibes on the score and tempo but also Avenger vibes as well.

And my God! How comes there's only Papillion in that ending? Ewww!

With Papillion exclusively there in the new ending, the staff is trying to tell us that the song is an only Papillion theme song?

and yea this is something else that i have to praise on ~ to be able to fit comedy in such a serious mood is quite difficult...and what more this series make it work

What I'm kinda curious about is what happened to Moonface, because from what I saw from the RAW, him being killed was explicitly shown even though he was kinda... a head in a trash bag or something I'm guessing he got killed offscreen. I'm kinda hoping he might get a little backstory somehow though, that "I used to be called the Lunar Nicholai" line really piqued my interest.

In any case, with the evil surfer dude who looks (to me) suspsciously like the blond guy from the OP that appears right before that bit with Tokiko touching her chest/heart, I'm thinking we might be getting some Tokiko-centric time in the cominc episodes, whoo! \o/

My thoughts exactly! Although strictly speaking, I've read the manga and knew this was coming, and know what will happen, but it was awesome to watch, and they really ended the episode at the right moment. ^^

ep16 ~

a quick recap of the pervious events ending where that guy tells tokiko to meet him afterwards...

still on the beach everyone is having fun...and tokiko being embarrassed about her bare stomach is really cute kazuki looses his swimming pants and Okakura fails at attracting any girls bravo turns up and cheers him up...showing how its really done...melting girls hearts but causing tokiko to freak...kazuki tries the trick on tokiko...bad idea

later that day our guys start to walk home...bravo asks kazuki what he thought about the LXE now...he thinks about papllon and concludes that its nothing to worry about...kazuki says that victor is a threat so he will become stronger...before leaving bravo tells kazuki to meet up with him later...

at the dinner table tokiko is still thinking about the guy that she saw...mahiro tries to cheer her up with food which ended up looking like something less appitising ~

time passes by and we see peaceful events...this is a bad sign if you ask me...it hints at a grim future in which out heros have to face...

kazuki goes to meet bravo while tokiko goes to meet the mysetrious guy (whose name is gota as revealed by her) ~ tokiko gets nasty and activates her busou renkin...she asks why he is here and he tells him that he wants to see her...but seriously he says that tokiko has a mission with him...

bravo tells kazuki about the origins or alchemy and kakugane...so it looks like they were all made long long ago from a pillar of mystical properties...then bravo tells kazuki that there are 3 black kakuganes...(shocking) ~ he says that victor has one in order for his life to be saved and how he became crazy because of that ~
it so happens that kazuki being saved the same way a victor suggests that his body has changed...as victor is a human / homunculus cross evolution...so is kazuki...bravo telling him that he is no longer human is shocking...he even calls him a monster and with that bravo says that he needs to protect everyone by taking out kazuki {oh my god!!!)

tokiko fights with gota asking why he is here...he gets stabbed and he tells her that she needsto get away from kazuki...this makes tokiko click into the situation...crap kazuki is in danger O.o she asks him where he is but he wont tell...tokiko the goes off to find him herself...unable to see tokiko depressed gota tells her...and she says thanks pulling gota's heart strings and he agrees to help ~

USSODDAA! claims kazuki...but well the truth is here as bravo says...his mission is to protect everyone by taking out all others non human...kazuki says that he isnt a monster and will never give up...*cue emotional BGM and tears *
kazuki says that he wont just sit down and let bravo terminate him and so they fight...
kazuki's lance is acting wierd and he is pushed back...it starts to glow and sparks fly out...bravo says that it isnt any longer the weapon that it once was...the lance transforms into another version...more slimmer and agile...bravo encourages kazuki to use it against him and the fight continues...

the lance goes flaming into bravos chest but he is able to break the energy line...bravo comments on its power but it is not able to defeat him with just that...kazuki goes into super mode ~ he attacks bravo and he activated his second busou renkin...he uses the silver skin particals to lock in kazuki's movements making him unable to attack properly...kinda like a restraint...also it drains kazuki's energy...hes not giving up even when bravo says goodbye...kazuki tries to get rid on the bond but is unable to do so as bravo puts both kakuganes onto him...he punches kazuki and it seems to be game over...

bravo tosses kazuki's body into the sea...tokiko turns up and ignores orders to leave kazuki...she jumps in but bravo kicks her out...gota then jumps after her ~ lol this is sounding like a game ~

bravo gets a call asking if he has taken care of kazuki...

tokiko goes beserk at trying to find kazuki but gota stops her...no the pain!!!!!

omg shocking ep O.o who would have thought that things would turn out this way...goddam cliff hanger >.<

Ah, so one of the major twists has been revealed.
Hopefully it'll keep those who were worried about the "BANKAI" power ups interested in the show. :3
