Episode 10 doesn't show all the loops. There were many more.

On what basis do you write this?

The Oriko manga and The Different Story manga show loops we didn't see in the anime. All in all, there were many more loops than what's shown in the series.

Leave it to spinoffs, psp game and fan works. Gen won't write more stories about timeloops again and again to fill with it a new movie. It would be just terrible.
No matter how much loops there were, Moemura still dissapeared after 3rd one.
Kyouko's family was killed by her father every time(he was mad about his daughter is witch), so she became homeless. Her fate obviously changed after witches dissapeared, so she is in school uniform now.

And how do we know that these aren't just AU narratives (like Elseworlds comics in DC comics)? Heck, "The Different Story" sounds like an AU title if ever there was one.

Did Gen or Shinbo or somebody in a position of creative authority explicitly state "Yes, these Madoka Magica mangas are part of the same canon as the original TV anime is"? Short of that, I wouldn't be making assumptions here.

If it is too much of an assumption for you, that's fine. I'm just answering your question, but you don't have to agree with me.

I was just curious if you were aware of something said by Gen or Shinbo or somebody else on the production side of the Madoka franchise.

You could be right, and the 3rd movie may in fact establish that you are right. In fact, the combination of Mitakihara Middle School student Kyouko Sakura and Moemura does suggest a time loop we never saw before (I doubt Homura would go back to that look after what she's gone through, but I could be wrong). Maybe one where Kyouko's father never found out about what happened, and hence Kyouko ends up going to school. That could be a fun timeloop to watch.

I know that the Oriko manga was written by Gen himself, but I don't know if he intended it to be canon or AU. However, the fact that he wrote it proves the idea of Homura looping many more time than the tv series shows is not alien to him.

It's not a timeloop ;_;, I can give my head for that. It's just new Madoka's world. Milking timeloops so much will be so ridiculous.

Interesting. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!

Gen's a very good manga writer then.

You sure you want to say that about a show with Mami Tomoe in it?

Sorry, Clarami, I couldn't resist.

Actually, I'd love to see them milk timeloops. There's great possibilities there.

Admittedly, I'm speaking here as a big Sayaka fan who realizes this is likely my only way of seeing more of her in action as a Puella Magi.

Oriko WASN'T written by Gen Urobochi. Google about it and forget about that terrible mistake. He only wrote scenarios for PSP game.

It was milked by those psp game already, by thousands of doujins and fanfics. There are no reason to do more flashbacks about that.

Oriko was illustrated by Kuroe Mura and writen by Gen. It's the Kazumi Magica manga the one that was written by someone else (Masaki Hiramatsu)

New footage starts 2:22 into the video.

Cue more speculation.

I have the tankobon. The writting's credited to Magica Quartet, which means Gen wrote it. If it was written by someone else, it would be credited to the specific person who did it, like in Kasumi Magica (Masaki Hiramatsu) or The Different Story (Hanokage).

Homura appears with her shield and gun, but she doesn't have the red ribbon, and that suggests these are indeed scenes from Homura's time loops.

EDIT: I can even see Madoka alive in one shot. So yeah, this is definitely a flashback. Those trolls from Shaft are filling the trailers with footage from flashbacks.

Here's ANN's translation of trailer:

Quote:
"No one understands this sadness I feel."

A solitary girl has arrived.

A beacon of light towards hope

The new "rules"

They will overturn everything

The shape of love

"Who are you?"

I want to meet you just one more time.
