Now that I noticed these Urahigu clips existed, from KAI DVDs

How come nobody ever released them
Some of them are very funny
Specially the one of the strong wind raising the girls skirts ( Rena: But I'm not using any )

Thankies.

I just hope that either the rest get translated or that Funimation translates them into english in the kai DVDs.

I've been keeping up with Higurashi related media (or at least the english translated stuff) for awhile. After reading the manga arc Yoigoshi-hen I actually ran into a question. Supposing the Onigari no Ryuou does exist, would Mion and Shion be able to wield it? That is, supposing the Furude family does have half demon blood, would any of it at any point spead into the Sonozaki line. The Sonozakis do seem to hold onto their demon history (or so Takano claims), but does it have a real basis or are they just adopting Furude traditions. Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

1. Onigari no Ryuou exists but it's encased in the statue of Oyashiro-sama, so using it is a moot point.

2. Nobody in Hinamizawa has demon blood. It's just a legend.

3. There's no reason anyone couldn't use that sword.

witch is basically used to designate "entities" that has transcended mankind, being involved with the dimensional worlds or Kakera... well, that's a nutshell explanation.
Well, that's pretty much what Beatrice have said in The Banquet of the Witch when Battler have ask her about *what exactly is a witch and how you suppose to become one* or something like that?

Well, even if Higurashi and Umineko are quite different, we still can explain thing in a human point of view, right? If we take Rika as example, I don't really believe that Bern IS Rika by the way, since all the proofs everyone here have tell so far is from a *meta-world* point of view.

What i mean is, yeah, Bern said herself some Rika's punchline and admit that she once WAS Rika or at least a part of her. But are there any proof of what she claiming, she IS a witch after all, in a alternative reality, where anything you show or say (except if write in red) can be denied. In fact, Rika is just like Eva and Bern is just like Eva-Beatrice, 2 different mind-set/personality created by one-self, which SOMEWHAT turn out to become some sort of magical being in a another dimension. Pretty silly to believe such think, since the whole mystery in Higurashi (except for hanyuu and her power, don't ask me to explain this shit LOL! ) have been proved to be human's doing and all.

Until Ryūkishi07 open an Schrodinger's cat box with *Rika=Bern* in it, is pretty much impossible to know the truth. For Miyo, well...except the fact her name mean 34 just like Lambdadelta, there not much proof about her to be a witch, except personality wise that it.

Well that's all what I wanted to say.

I still learning english by the way so...if some sentences or words look somewhat weird and out of place, then I really sorry, i will try better next time.

Re Onikakushi-hen: Was it ever explained:
- what actually happened when Rena was apparently listening to Keiichi's phone call?
- how did Rena know Keiichi's parents had left town?

The second isn't too hard to explain; his parents would have made no effort to conceal their leaving, and Rena could have heard the news.

I don't know the answer to the first one, but most likely Kei-chan was in hinamizawa syndrome mode when he was told that Rena knew about his parent's leaving.

Gomen, I don't remember the episode that well.

For the second question, I would not be suprised if Keiichi'S mom would not have called Rena for asking her to look if he was right.

Presumably she came up to see him, saw he was buy and left. Keiichi interpreted is as her spying on him due to his paranoia.

Your sense of humor could use some refinement.

But Rena was apparently there for quite some time:

From Sonozaki-futagotachi's translation of the SN:
Quote:
"Come now, you don't have to lie to your old man! Rena-chan came to visit just a while ago, right? You were talking for quite some time, so I thought I'd bring some tea. But then she passed me on my way up."
...
"How, ......how long were we talking...?"
"Rena-chan came upstairs about a half-hour... maybe almost an hour ago."
From Yen Press's manga translation:
Quote:
"You seemed to be talking for a long time, so I brought you some tea. But I just missed her."
...
"Wh-when did Rena come here again?"
"Mmm? A little less than an hour ago?"
The dialog is supposed to be correct, so Rena was upstairs for half an hour to an hour, but there's no evidence that she spent any of that time right outside his door.
