First episode is out on CR.
LOL. Oh God, this episode. I knew what I was expecting already because of the ecchi content. The "cat playing" scene is about as lewd as they can get on TV. Elf girl is annoying so far while the cat girl wants someone to trust in. Diablo is super OP at level 150! Also, the ED theme song is not safe for work lul Guilty pleasure of the season.

OK. Nothing special but OK. Would've been better with somewhat better animation (aside from the salamander fight, which while quick did show effort). And could've used a little bit more effort in how the fanservice is presented. Yeah, there's plenty of boob shots and a nice butt shot as well, but overall they seem to be just shoved at you way too hard and random. Not to mention that the pacing of the "torture" felt really off. So yeah, it was fairly weak. But it was fun enough and I'll certainly give it a few episodes. Doubt it'll be as entertaining as Smartphone (yes, I truly liked that series) but might be worth a watch each week.
The OP was pretty darn cool though. |

Must say though, Sierra's VA was kind of jarring. |

Even though I dislike harem series and rarely watch or read them, I do find this series commendable due to the MC having somewhat of a distinctive personality at least, unlike the MCs in Smartphone and Death March that doesn't have any distinctive personality.
An MC needs to have any kind of personality to make us like him, like for example, a recluse that hates interacting with people like in this one, or an MC that lacks common sense. If an OverPowered MC is not only just perfect in abilities and powers, but also perfect even in personality, psychology and all-round knowledge, then it gets too boring and unrelatable. So an OP MC needs to have some defects or weaknesses to make him more relatable and interesting to watch. Heck, even Superman had a physical weakness---the Kryptonite. So, I like the fact that this Dorei Majutsu MC has a weak point in his imperfect personality, who is actually a shut-in that rathers not interacting with anyone but just playing games in his small dank room. Oh by the way, both Smartphone and Death March are 2 of the most boring anime that I can't even finish watching the first episode to the end and dropped it. Dorei Majutsu's MC, Issei from High School DXD, Izayoi from Mondaijitachi ga Isekai kara, and Akatsuki Ousawa from Hagure Yuusha were better MCs than Smartphone and DM's MCs. This is cheese. Saying that, sometimes I like pizza and this is one of those times. Three-episode rule applies.
Going further, the animation is decent for this sort of story although they may be blowing half the production budget on the first episode to hook viewers. Fanservice, I was aware of its existence from the manga but there's enough actual plot thickening being added to the recipe that I can work around it. The MC has his moments, the elf is annoying and needs to be left behind somewhere (but she won't), the Pantherian is, well, nekomimi, heavy on the "mimi". The MC did the right thing getting the Terrible Dark Secret She Can't tell Anyone Until It's Too Late To Do Something About It out of her in episode one, it shows he's trope-aware and brutally ruthless. Diablo!

Exxxxxxplosion!!!!!!!!
It maybe a cheese anime, but it know it is and as long it plays without pretending to be another thing all will be ok, in the downside the VAs for Shera and Rem (but mostly Shera) feel really off character at least for me.
