I watched it on Netflix earlier and I really enjoyed it. Yes, I can see how they shuffled stuff around from the manga and added more characterisation for side characters, but in a way which made for a cohesive narrative which made sense for a stand-alone movie.
It worked for me. |

On Netfix, well, this era is internet tivi after all : )).
BTW, I remember that in manga, Sanakan was found and was going with Cibo, Killy a while, but in this movie, she can take someone's memory and disgust as them. Also the way Killy meet Cibo is changed too. |

Pretty awesome movie. Regardless of how the original source is I'm glad they found a middle ground between atmosphere and action, tragedy and happy 'ending'.
Between this and Sidonia, that's 2 for 2 from this author.

Never read this manga but I really enjoyed this. Could not help but think how awful the life of an electro fisher is so I sympathized with their plights. The super(humans)? Were really interesting and cool as well. Would love to see more of Killy's adventures in this form.

BTW, I hope Blame! will be remade as a TV series or at least high quality OVA. |

I think everything they done here is right. It's a movie not tv series. I went back to read the manga and part of the Electro-Fishers they simply are forgettable. Plus the art is so ugly for the humans.

I'm surprised people enjoyed this movie, I thought it was pretty disappointing. I did not like how they portrayed Killy, how he basically just says the same thing over and over again, and how he just seems tired all the time. Yeah he barely says anything in the manga but he was lively at times. In the movie he always seemed like he was a few seconds from falling asleep every time he did something.
Cibo was okay. I did like her design, but I didn't like how they changed almost everything else about her, her back story, how she was found, ect, but I guess it had to be done for a movie. I think my biggest gripe is that it was, well, a movie. Blame deserves a full fledged series, a movie inst nearly enough time to show off this awesome world and its characters. It felt like Killy and Cibo were just side characters and they barely did anything the entire movie. I'm sure this all seems nitpicky, but Blame is one of my favorite manga and it pains me to see peoples first exposure to this amazing series be this very mediocre movie.
