Personally, the explanations of the dishes completely go over my head, so I wouldn't mind if we spent a shorter time on them. I suppose people who actually read this manga for the food enjoy them though.

The reaction was great. I didn't realize the movie was so "old" already. Time sure flies.

Next is Sohma's stir fry soba i guess. i wonder whether it is foie grass fat or peking duck fat. seeing the spring onion, should have peking though.

Yeah the reactions was kind of underwhelming. Other than the judges can't seem to stop eating to the point where the Soba disappears quickly. I suppose to a business owner's perspective that may be good of a reaction as it ensures your restaurant will have a lot of profit but as we've seen in this chapter the impact of the taste was a bit weak and lack that Oomph! we've seen in other Shokugekis.

True. Her soba is great in terms of earning profit for the restaurant and it's a delicious dish as well, but I bet Souma and Jouichirou can beat it easily. Their food always has more impact.

I think it takes someone of Jouichirou's level to put them into a foodgasm.Remember,not even the graduate guy has a three star from these guys.So it would not he surprising that these guys are immune to Soma and co.

I have two theory for that :
1. Jouichirou don't care with the star so he never requested it
2. Yukihira restaurant is small restaurant aimed toward lower middle class society there are no any reason for it to gain the stars

When the topping is so superb you finish all the Soba without realizing and before you can make a fair judgement of its taste, so much you have to ask for a second and a third ration, you know the chef did sonething wrong.

Focusing on tradition will only take you this far if you don't innovate.

I also thought about it maybe being the second option. But that would mean that Diner Yukihira isn't worthy of being in "the book" because it's a restaurant for the masses. It would make Jouichirou and Souma into laughing stocks in the gourmet world. I'd hate that, but maybe that really is it.
