And he'll be going solo.

Presumably it’s for a short story or something.

IP ranking 20 is the strongest of Ayn’s “hybrid soldiers” (forgot her name). Basically the same as Tina. There are also 4 more that are ranked around Tina’s ballpark. They’re going to be future villains along with Ayn because it’s confirmed that Ayn wants to get rid of Tina for her betrayal. The question is when that’ll happen.

Got a bit lazy here since this is just telling us what we know already and evaluating people's strength and motivation.

Kisara and Rentaro are in a dojo.

Rentaro is observing Kisara’s sword training.

Kisara had taken stance and using a Tendo sword attack sliced. Shockingly enough a block of wood 6 meters away from her got sliced apart and sent flying by the force.

Rentaro upon seeing this swallowed in awe and thought to himself how impressive she is.

Normally speaking the sword technique with the greatest reach is Iaido (quick draw) technique which is the user’s arm length plus the sword length plus how far the user can stride when he draws the sword.

However Tendo sword style defied that common sense, being able to slice an object the sword itself cannot reach.

Although Rentaro haven’t seen everything she can do, he knows for sure that she can strike at 3 times the usual maximum length of a regular sword user, and that was 3 years ago.

Rentaro went up and handed her a towel and complimented her on her swordsmanship. Kisara responded to him that if he thinks so, he should practice more to hone his skills.

Rentaro replies that it’s worth considering since although Tendo sword style and Tendo fist style are different styles they both belong under the Tendo School so they have the same concept, therefore it’s possible to steal tricks from her. He comments that at Kisara’s current level she likely has reached the complete understanding of Tendo sword style.

Kisara rejects that praise. She says that it’s impossible to achieve “complete understanding” of the sword since a vain thought such as thinking you achieved “complete understanding” of the sword will cloud the sword instead. She also reveals that when she graduated her old master (he has a name, just don’t know it in English) told her that her sword was still “unprincipled” which is a sad sight so he’ll teach her more esoteric techniques.

Rentaro knows her old master and is shocked that “the monster old man is still alive”. Kisara reveals that he’s more than a hundred years old now.

Rentaro is apparently disappointed that the old man’s still alive (he must have really suffered under him or something).

Kisara comments that it’s thanks to her old master that she’s able to keep on striving for higher realms.

As she lets out a fearless expression Rentaro notices the blade on her hand.

“Killing blade: Snow Shadow”

“That’s right”.

Kisara sheathed her blade and asked Rentaro if he knows the meaning of the blade, Rentaro responds “no”.

Kisara reveals that this blade’s name “killing blade” in shaolin terms means to negate all obsession, in other words it is a blade meant for killing all Tendos.

Rentaro thinks to himself that Kisara doesn’t recognize the nature of her own obsession with revenge.

She never could fight I the frontlines due to her kidney problems, so she took care of desk work but recently something changed. After the stage 5 incident she suddenly became more active. It’s as if she discovered something about her parents’ death or perhaps she’s getting impatient.

As Rentaro was about to say something to Kisara, Enju butted in.

She wanted Rentaro to practice with her since he promised.


Rentaro put Kisara’s case in the back of his mind and got a BB gun.

He shoots at Enju but Enju dodged them all. She commented that Rentaro’s pretty boring to train with.

Seeing that Enju isn’t being challenged Rentaro threw away the BB gun and took out his pistol. Inside weren’t varium bullets or even regular bullets but rubber bullets instead. However they’ll still hurt if Enju gets hit.

As he shot at Enju, Enju suddenly crossed the distance between them before Rentaro can react.

Rentaro tried to widen he distance but in the face of Enju’s superior speed it proved useless. Enju had gotten in close range and was about to hit Rentaro but stopped short of hitting him.

Kisara called the match and Rentaro started to clean up the mess while thinking about Enju’s speed.

He commented to himself that while Kohina who he faced is undoubtedly fast Enju is even faster than her. Her overwhelming speed can be considered the enemy of all gunmen who can only shot linear projectiles, which can easily be predicted and dodged by her.

Not only that but she is seemingly unafraid of guns.

Normally speaking kids her age would panic in front of a gun. Even an adult would panic. However Enju didn’t for as long as Rentaro knew her.

Just what kind of bad life did she have to be like that? It’s unforgivable.

Rentaro thoughts then went to guns. After the Gastrea war the world’s strict gun control laws disappeared. Everyone needed guns in order to survive and as a result weapon companies such as Shibi Corporation came into being. In the name of “Self Defense” everyone could get a gun. However that in itself is a bad joke. In the first place guns are the ultimate offensive weapon. There’s nothing defensive about them. Their strength cannot be adjusted. In other words guns are the type of weapon that is meant to kill not save. Even the bullet shells in his limbs are ultimately offensive weapons that will kill even if used in self-defense. Needless to say Rentaro holds guns with detest but it’s the only way to keep up with Kisara and Enju.

Enju interrupted his thoughts and asked him how was her fighting style. He replied that she needed a higher skirt in which Enju teased that he clearly enjoyed peeking.

Kisara interrupted their comical skit and told them that she and Rentaro need to go to school.

Rentaro told Enju that he’ll found a school for her soon.

Enju replied that there’s no need to rush.

On the way Kisara questioned about Enju’s schooling and Rentaro told her that he still hasn’t found one school willing to accept her. Kisara told him that maybe he should consider a school on the outer areas.

Rentaro is dissatisfied since the level of education on the outer area is low but Kisara points out that he doesn’t have much of a choice.

Rentaro replied that he’ll think about it after considering that what Enju needs now isn’t education but peace of mind.

Kisara signed and pointed out that, Rentaro really is doing everything for Enju, and how he’s suddenly smiling now that he has a viable choice to make Enju happy.

Rentaro quickly covered his face in embarrassment but realized that he’s been duped by Kisara.

He actually wasn’t smiling.

Kisara laughed at her own prank.

However she moved onto an important topic.

As it turns out she finally got lucky and got a good commission.

Rentaro told her that he won’t do any troublesome job.

Kisara told him with proactive eyes:

“The job is protection. The person to guard is Seitenshi. This time Seitenshi actually handpicked you to do this job, Satomi-kun”.

It was indeed a troublesome job……..

Volume 2 part 1 first half.

Splitting it into two parts since this part is long. And it has a good cut off point.

Once again I came into romaji problems with a characters name and Google translator is unreliable for his name.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo the security heads name is now coined Dick by me.

Because Dick is a short name to type and it suits him since he's practically the Shinji Matou of Black Bullet in almost all aspects.

I can write a whole essay on why he's Shinji tier in terms of competency, douchebagness and dick moves.

That's how bad he is.

After school Rentaro took the train to 1st distract to go see Seitenshi.

He’s puzzled by why Seitenshi choose him of all people since he was discourteous to her during the ceremony a month ago.

He arrived at Seitenshi’s home and was greeted by a fancy neo-gothic style building. Two bodyguards accompanied him to see Seitenshi. Once he got where Seitenshi is, he discovered that she was rehearsing a speech in front of a small audience all of them presumably important politicians or advisors. Hearing her talk he remarked to himself that she really has a talent for speaking.

Upon noticing Rentaro she immediately went to greet him. Rentaro apologized about how rude he was last time and she reassured him that she doesn’t mind.

Seitenshi’s secretary came over and asked Seitenshi who Rentaro is.

Seitenshi told her that he’s the great hero that defeated the stage 5 gastrea, Rentaro Satomi causing the secretary to shockingly remark:

“Rentaro Satomi…………… isn’t he the one that once played music in a gay bar, and coddled with other men in that bar, that Rentaro Satomi?” (Take this part with a grain of salt, the only thing I can say for sure is that she’s implying that Rentaro’s gay).

“I never coddled with other men before! Speaking of which, who the hell is spreading these messed up rumors?”

Because info on Rentaro hasn’t been completely stopped, his personal info has been distorted beyond recognition. All sorts of messed up, plain wrong rumors have sprung up as a result.

Rentaro being annoyed asked:

“Can I leave if you have nothing for me to do?”

“We do in fact have something for you to do.”

Seitenshi dismissed everyone else before turning her attention back to Rentaro.

“Satomi-san, the president of the Osaka region, Sougen Saitake, will be making an unofficial visit here the day after tomorrow.”

“What?”

Upon hearing a familiar name Rentaro couldn’t help but be surprised.

“That’s right, I think you should know. The current Japan is split into 5 regions, Sapporo, Sendai, Osaka, Hakata, and our Tokyo and all five regions are each governed by 1 ruler. One of the rulers, Sougen Saitake, suddenly sent us a big request; he wanted to negotiate with us and hoped we prepare for his arrival.”

“Why?”

Tokyo and Osaka haven’t opened negotiations in years. Why start now?

“I don’t know but the fact that he chose now to visit is likely because Kikunojyo-san isn’t here.”

“Oh right, the old man’s currently in China and Russia negotiating. The TV was talking about that.”

Before the war Kikunojyo and Sougen were fierce political rivals. Should he coming here while Kikunojyo isn’t here be called cowardly or cunning?

“Che. Then as a bodyguard, what do you want me to do specifically?”

“I hope you can sit beside me on the Lincoln car. Stand behind me to protect me during negotiations.”

“………….In other words you want me to substitute for the old man.”

“If you put it that way, you’re right.”

Rentaro felt confused. What exactly was she planning?

“This………..are you acting based on a personal whim?”

“Yes.”

“If the old man comes back and learns about this, he’ll definitely be furious.”

“Why?”

“Because…………I chose to follow Kisara Tendo instead of him.”

Seitenshi understood immediately what Rentaro was talking about and sighed.

“When arranging this, I didn’t take into consideration the family dispute in the Tendo family.”

“That isn’t as simple as a “family dispute”, you know.”

“Besides don’t you have bodyguards?”

“I wanted to introduce them to you. Come in.”

The instant she said that six body guards came in. They all had pistols and sabers to their side and the same white attire.

“Satomi-san, this is the security captain, Dick.”

A particular handsome man came up to shake hands with Rentaro.

“It’s as her highness says, I am the security captain. My rank is second lieutenant. I already heard the rumors Satomi-san. I hope that while working together you can give me advice.”

“I didn’t accept the task yet. I’m just here to listen to the commission.”

While saying that inwardly Rentaro was impressed that someone around their late 20s-early 30s can receive such a high rank.

Looking into his eyes however Rentaro noticed that it’s cold and unfriendly. Despite the warm tone, Rentaro sensed that the captain actually disliked Rentaro.

Sensing that something was wrong Seitenshi tried to smooth things over.

“Satomi-san, not responding to the handshake is a little rude.”

However Dick intervened on Rentaro’s behalf.

“No, Seitenshi-sama. I’m already used to the coldness of the civil security guards. And also despite being a hero he’s still a high school student. Being nervous is only as expected.”

Dick pulled his hand back. An uneasy start have formed.

Rentaro thought to himself that even ignoring personal feelings, this commission had too many disadvantages. First off, last time because Seitenshi had kept information from Rentaro and co, they had received a lot of trouble. Taking that into consideration Rentaro found that he had trouble trusting that there won’t be some complication here. Second off, civil security guard wasn’t meant to guard. While taking into consideration their fighting power they could do it, but since Seitenshi already has trained guards she was safer under their care. Lastly Seitenshi herself is physically weak, to serve as her escort likely required delicacy that Rentaro lacked.

And if something did happen, Rentaro would be the one to be blamed.

Too much risk for little reward.

Seitenshi no longer had anything to talk to Rentaro about so she told him that if he accepted this commission he would have to fill it in and left along with the guards.

Rentaro left to but quickly discovered that he was lost due to how big the area is.

As he was looking for a staff his arm was suddenly twisted behind his back and he was forced into a men’s bathroom.

Pushed upon the male’s bathroom, Rentaro cursed and then used his leg to sweep at behind. It worked and once his arm was free he tugged at the opponents head and smashed it against the bathroom wall.

Sensing that there’s someone behind him Rentaro blocked the attack without turning back, and sled by the attacker, then using aikido threw the attacker against the wall. The throw knocked the air out of the attacker’s lungs.

“Stop right there.”

Turning around Rentaro discovered guns pointed at him.

The attackers are Seitenshi’s security guards. 1 of them was standing look out outside the bathroom, 2 of them had their guns pointed at Rentaro, 2 of them was just taken out by Rentaro just now (lol, even without releasing Rentaro easily took out 2 guards who got the drop on him, competency issues everywhere), and the captain, Dick had his hands behind his back and was looking at Rentaro with eyes of scorn.

“Oi, what the hell are you guys doing?”

Dick walked over, and using his Saber pierced the wall by Rentaro. Threatening he said:

“Rentaro Satomi, decline the commission, guarding Seitenshi-sama is our duty.”

“Huh?”

“I don’t found you pleasing to the eye. What kind of accomplishment is defeating the stage 5 gastrea anyway? You just happened to be standing near the railgun. If I was there I could’ve been the hero that defeated the Zodiac.”

“…….” (Really wished that Rentaro pointed out the fucking chances of actually hitting the stage 5 gastrea and how he had to fight Kagetone + Kohina beforehand to this douchebag instead of just “…….”)

“Why you? The person that Tendo-sama entrusted Seitenshi to was me. The substitute for Tendo-sama’s position was originally supposed to be me.”

“Aren’t you always guarding her?”

“Dumbass, this and sitting in a car with her are two different things.”

Dick’s expression has taken on a leer.

“Seitenshi-sama has grown into a real beauty, she's already 16 years old. Don’t you think Tokyo area needs an heir already?”

“Oh so it’s like that, so that’s your purpose.”

Dick pulled out his gun and pointed it at Rentaro.

“Shut up and tell me your answer already”.

“Stop screwing around with me”.

Dick indicated to his comrades.

“Break his arms and legs.”

The two tried to restrain Rentaro but Rentaro struggled free pulled out his pistol and shot (which also alerted nearby people), his shot missed. The guards reacted with shock and panic however (In case you didn’t notice these guards have some mental deficits they need to work out, you try to break the arms and legs of a civil security guard who’s obviously armed and you didn’t expect them to shot you? These guys are just lucky that Rentaro didn’t take them seriously enough to use his limbs) and Dick threatened to destroy Rentaro (hahahahahahaha) before they ran away.

The gunshot had alerted nearby staff that came to check out the incident. Upon Rentaro explaining the situation, the staff understood and escorted him out the building.

Apparently Rentaro wasn’t the only one that figured out what dicks the security guards are.

Rentaro mused to himself that Seitenshi’s bodyguards are far from honest and diligent.

He worried for her safety with these guards and decided to take the commission.

The two tried to restrain Rentaro but Rentaro struggled free pulled out his pistol and shot (which also alerted nearby people), his shot missed. The guards reacted with shock and panic however (In case you didn’t notice these guards have some mental deficits they need to work out, you try to break the arms and legs of a civil security guard who’s obviously armed and you didn’t expect them to shot you? These guys are just lucky that Rentaro didn’t take them seriously enough to use his limbs) and Dick threatened to destroy Rentaro (hahahahahahaha) before they ran away.

The gunshot had alerted nearby staff that came to check out the incident. Upon Rentaro explaining the situation, the staff understood and escorted him out the building.

Apparently Rentaro wasn’t the only one that figured out what dicks the security guards are.

Rentaro mused to himself that Seitenshi’s bodyguards are far from honest and diligent.

He worried for her safety with these guards and decided to take the commission.

Splitting it into two parts since this part is long. And it has a good cut off point.

Once again I came into romaji problems with a characters name and Google translator is unreliable for his name.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo the security heads name is now coined Dick by me.

Because Dick is a short name to type and it suits him since he's practically the Shinji Matou of Black Bullet in almost all aspects.

I can write a whole essay on why he's Shinji tier in terms of competency, douchebagness and dick moves.

That's how bad he is.

After school Rentaro took the train to 1st distract to go see Seitenshi.

He’s puzzled by why Seitenshi choose him of all people since he was discourteous to her during the ceremony a month ago.

He arrived at Seitenshi’s home and was greeted by a fancy neo-gothic style building. Two bodyguards accompanied him to see Seitenshi. Once he got where Seitenshi is, he discovered that she was rehearsing a speech in front of a small audience all of them presumably important politicians or advisors. Hearing her talk he remarked to himself that she really has a talent for speaking.

Upon noticing Rentaro she immediately went to greet him. Rentaro apologized about how rude he was last time and she reassured him that she doesn’t mind.

Seitenshi’s secretary came over and asked Seitenshi who Rentaro is.

Seitenshi told her that he’s the great hero that defeated the stage 5 gastrea, Rentaro Satomi causing the secretary to shockingly remark:

“Rentaro Satomi…………… isn’t he the one that once played music in a gay bar, and coddled with other men in that bar, that Rentaro Satomi?” (Take this part with a grain of salt, the only thing I can say for sure is that she’s implying that Rentaro’s gay).

“I never coddled with other men before! Speaking of which, who the hell is spreading these messed up rumors?”

Because info on Rentaro hasn’t been completely stopped, his personal info has been distorted beyond recognition. All sorts of messed up, plain wrong rumors have sprung up as a result.

Rentaro being annoyed asked:

“Can I leave if you have nothing for me to do?”

“We do in fact have something for you to do.”

Seitenshi dismissed everyone else before turning her attention back to Rentaro.

“Satomi-san, the president of the Osaka region, Sougen Saitake, will be making an unofficial visit here the day after tomorrow.”

“What?”

Upon hearing a familiar name Rentaro couldn’t help but be surprised.

“That’s right, I think you should know. The current Japan is split into 5 regions, Sapporo, Sendai, Osaka, Hakata, and our Tokyo and all five regions are each governed by 1 ruler. One of the rulers, Sougen Saitake, suddenly sent us a big request; he wanted to negotiate with us and hoped we prepare for his arrival.”

“Why?”

Tokyo and Osaka haven’t opened negotiations in years. Why start now?

“I don’t know but the fact that he chose now to visit is likely because Kikunojyo-san isn’t here.”

“Oh right, the old man’s currently in China and Russia negotiating. The TV was talking about that.”

Before the war Kikunojyo and Sougen were fierce political rivals. Should he coming here while Kikunojyo isn’t here be called cowardly or cunning?

“Che. Then as a bodyguard, what do you want me to do specifically?”

“I hope you can sit beside me on the Lincoln car. Stand behind me to protect me during negotiations.”

“………….In other words you want me to substitute for the old man.”

“If you put it that way, you’re right.”

Rentaro felt confused. What exactly was she planning?

“This………..are you acting based on a personal whim?”

“Yes.”

“If the old man comes back and learns about this, he’ll definitely be furious.”

“Why?”

“Because…………I chose to follow Kisara Tendo instead of him.”

Seitenshi understood immediately what Rentaro was talking about and sighed.

“When arranging this, I didn’t take into consideration the family dispute in the Tendo family.”

“That isn’t as simple as a “family dispute”, you know.”

“Besides don’t you have bodyguards?”

“I wanted to introduce them to you. Come in.”

The instant she said that six body guards came in. They all had pistols and sabers to their side and the same white attire.

“Satomi-san, this is the security captain, Dick.”

A particular handsome man came up to shake hands with Rentaro.

“It’s as her highness says, I am the security captain. My rank is second lieutenant. I already heard the rumors Satomi-san. I hope that while working together you can give me advice.”

“I didn’t accept the task yet. I’m just here to listen to the commission.”

While saying that inwardly Rentaro was impressed that someone around their late 20s-early 30s can receive such a high rank.

Looking into his eyes however Rentaro noticed that it’s cold and unfriendly. Despite the warm tone, Rentaro sensed that the captain actually disliked Rentaro.

Sensing that something was wrong Seitenshi tried to smooth things over.

“Satomi-san, not responding to the handshake is a little rude.”

However Dick intervened on Rentaro’s behalf.

“No, Seitenshi-sama. I’m already used to the coldness of the civil security guards. And also despite being a hero he’s still a high school student. Being nervous is only as expected.”

Dick pulled his hand back. An uneasy start have formed.

Rentaro thought to himself that even ignoring personal feelings, this commission had too many disadvantages. First off, last time because Seitenshi had kept information from Rentaro and co, they had received a lot of trouble. Taking that into consideration Rentaro found that he had trouble trusting that there won’t be some complication here. Second off, civil security guard wasn’t meant to guard. While taking into consideration their fighting power they could do it, but since Seitenshi already has trained guards she was safer under their care. Lastly Seitenshi herself is physically weak, to serve as her escort likely required delicacy that Rentaro lacked.

And if something did happen, Rentaro would be the one to be blamed.

Too much risk for little reward.

Seitenshi no longer had anything to talk to Rentaro about so she told him that if he accepted this commission he would have to fill it in and left along with the guards.

Rentaro left to but quickly discovered that he was lost due to how big the area is.

As he was looking for a staff his arm was suddenly twisted behind his back and he was forced into a men’s bathroom.

Pushed upon the male’s bathroom, Rentaro cursed and then used his leg to sweep at behind. It worked and once his arm was free he tugged at the opponents head and smashed it against the bathroom wall.

Sensing that there’s someone behind him Rentaro blocked the attack without turning back, and sled by the attacker, then using aikido threw the attacker against the wall. The throw knocked the air out of the attacker’s lungs.

“Stop right there.”

Turning around Rentaro discovered guns pointed at him.

The attackers are Seitenshi’s security guards. 1 of them was standing look out outside the bathroom, 2 of them had their guns pointed at Rentaro, 2 of them was just taken out by Rentaro just now (lol, even without releasing Rentaro easily took out 2 guards who got the drop on him, competency issues everywhere), and the captain, Dick had his hands behind his back and was looking at Rentaro with eyes of scorn.

“Oi, what the hell are you guys doing?”

Dick walked over, and using his Saber pierced the wall by Rentaro. Threatening he said:

“Rentaro Satomi, decline the commission, guarding Seitenshi-sama is our duty.”

Because there’s a girl with silver blond hair approximately the same age as Enju riding a bicycle around the newly designed fountain; over and over and over again.

To add to her out of place weirdness she had oversized pajamas on, extremely messy bad hair and a drowsy look that wouldn’t look out of place for someone doing drugs.

Needless to say……… another weirdo to avoid which was what the pedestrians walking by her are doing.

Rentaro followed suit and was about to leave without turning back but…….

“Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiit that hurt ahahahahahah! Where the fuck are your eyes?

Only a face filled with threatening violence but not the will to carry out that violence when faced with equal or greater opposition.

Rentaro gestured at his pistol. Upon seeing that they all backed down and retreated.

Seeing that Rentaro breathed a sigh of relief at avoiding trouble and swore to himself to never play hero again.

Rentaro bitterly turned back to see the girl gaping at him with surprise.

“A hero of justice…………this is the first time I’ve seen one.”

“No need to thank me. Hurry home! Bye!”

Rentaro hurriedly left only to discover a hand that grabbed the helm of his cloths.

“Where is this?”

Rentaro facepalmed, he can just feel trouble brewing.
