Like I said before.... the studio marketeers are probably firmly holding the nearest pillar and bashing their heads on it for not being better prepared. It is somehow comforting to know that executives are often the same in any culture - unable to tell compost from gold before it hits them.

Well... they can look at it in several ways.

In the short-term, they will probably want to bang their heads against a pillar for not being able to FULLY exploit the current craze. In the long-term however, they are pretty much sitting on a pot of gold when it comes to the second season. It is pretty much guaranteed that they will milk the market for the second season.

Also, now that KyoAni is aware of the popularity of SHaruhi, they can afford to negotiate for more sponsorship for the second season, which means more money, which means better production values. Heck, since KyoAni has pretty much the Midas touch at the moment, this is good news for fans of their other shows, like 'Full Metal Panic!' since they will be able to command a higher budget than usual. Chidori and Tessa in HD? Say yes!

The thing is, most non-novel readers never even registered SHaruhi on their minds when it first appeared in the Spring season. It was a phenomenon in a manner of speaking.

Whether they will be able to pull it off again for the second season, only time will tell... and it will be some time too, since KyoAni is not in the habit of making more than one show at a time. This is not necessarily a bad thing however, since if you flood the market with too much of the same thing, saturation will occur, and interest will widdle down. Not to mention that the merchandise will end up competing with each other.

Cheers.

It's going to me, of course ; ) I hardly see where the confusion could've come from.

In terms of figurines it'll take time, of course. But it's not as if the milking hasn't occured with the exclusive DVDs, etc etc etc. It's also not clear that "official" merchandise will have top notch quality that can compare with that of Bubba's.. And I don't think the supply and demand thing really works the way it conventionally does here.. It's more complicated but I'm going to shy away from that.

edit: to save my blundering english..

And Kaioshin, I'm the sort who does studying while reading stuff online.. If you're slipping that "pay attention to me" into there as some sort of hint that I'm treating you specially then I vomit... I monitor the SuzuHaru thread as often as I can, not you. I hope you don't need me to say more. It is funny though, you remind me of an encounter I had in OCremix.org, where I criticized this remix amongst the flood of praises and apparently I nailed it onto this female more than once. She PM-ed me accusing me of stalking her.. your best mate, I'm guessing? ; )

I wouldn't be suprised!! This sort of skill is attained after countless of hours of practice.. And detailed moulding is a skill of the young. After 40, your hands go to hell and you're much better off making larger scale works. I have no doubt in saying he deserves it

Sigh.

You're so funny with the comments I'm in hysterics. Thanks! You know what anyone who's this funny can't be all that bad. I kind of feel we'd be good friends offline.

Kinda wish Mikuru had a different pose for each color, but nonetheless, those statues look awesome.

Edit: looks like there will be a black suit, and a white suit version...

Yeah we know about the Mikuru one already. Notice they're charging 7,140 yen for it which is roughly $60 U.S dollars. That would be worth buying if I were interested. In fact, this site seems to have decent prices for all assortments of figurines including robots. Hmmm...... I know this is unrelated but now that you posted the link to this hobby page http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/60584 *drool* wrong pilots though. There you have it Vexx, awesome weapons sweet designs, hot blooded pilots, thats what makes mecha so much fun. Keroro Gunsou seems popular on this site too it even has its own section.

Haruhi for $3000, that's nothing.

check these out to piss your pants:

$100 burger: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51816

$25000 gameboy: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52150

Phone number for 2 milllion dollars: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50753

I'm fine with the burger, but gameboy and phone number is outrageous lol. As long as people can pay for them and is paying for them is alright though.

I had a dream that me and the guys I work with were enlisted into the Canadian Army to go fight for great justice. I told my friend about this and he said it would most likely go something like this.

Mike (Guy I work with): Let's go smoke some Marijuana.

Kalan (Biggest Stoner at work): Yeah man and then we'll kick the enemies ass, wait I'm already stoned.

Graham (me): When do we get to pilot the Robots, wait there are no robots, alright then give me an assault rifle, what no weapons, damn Canadian Army.

Kalan: **** man this is good stuff!

Well anyway that would leave me to get the job done as master strategist.

Its just too bad that war is so different from SRW.

And to stay on topic:

My bro just recieved all the music singles today, 6 cds including the drama cd I think. Too bad I myself don't have much cash, but my bro is different, he is young enough to ask for credit cards from my mum lol

Hmmm I didn't notice that there was no star shaped mole, must be because of her arm. I guess this is a minus point for the figure as well, the mole is important, its part of the plot lol

A Very Fine Tipped sharpie pen should solve that problem

Seriously... I'm a little leery of First-To-Market quality .... and a little leery of AtSai's quality (sometimes great, sometimes meh). Actually what I'd rather have is a small 4 or 6 inch set of the whole SOS gang ... kind of like that Utawarerumono set that is coming out this month.
