So, anyone wants to organize a team of fansubbers to tackle it?

There's probably no need, if it gets enough attention, someone will sub it.

Well I know it's going to get attention eventually. I just want to get a well established group together that really would enjoy the show, so that you don't have like 3 groups with people in each group who like it and people in each group who are just doing it because their group leader told them to do so.

Hmm, then perhaps you should ask about it in the fansubs forum?

Will it live up to the hype? - It'll be difficult I can tell you that. It's been three years since "AIR," and TYPE-MOON's "Fate/stay night" broke the sales record for "AIR" in the January. Will fans accept a game that has no ero-scenes? Will fans still honor Key for their heart-warming stories? Will fans be willing to play a game that is rumored to be twice as long as "AIR" ?
I do not think fans had problems accepting that there were no ero-scenes, considering the “all-age version” of Kanon was released first, and with nearly a years delay between that and the “adult version”(later followed by Kanon’s non-H Dreamcast release). It’s almost as if the H version of Kanon was an afterthought, so to say that there will be an H version of Clannad eventually may not be far fetched.

I haven’t played any of the Key games newer then Kanon, so I do not know if they are based on the same engine. Fate/Stay Night has been in development for about 3 years, but it is also Type-Moon’s first professional game release; actual numbers on Tsukihime’s release in 2000 are impossible to calculate (if you look on Type-Moon’s website, the media listed for Tsukihime is actually CD-R lol).

hmm...either Key is building this game off the same engine as "AIR" and "Kanon," their minimum machine spec is rather lame compared to TYPE-MOON's "Fate/stay night."
This would not surprise me; however, I can not find the link to the website that host the scripting program (AVG32) that was used in Kanon and Air. I’m not sure what engine Type-Moon is using for Fate/Stay Night, although I’d be pretty sure it’s not NScripter, which is what Tsukihime and its immediate sequels were programmed on.

"18 and above" Kanon: 1999.6.4
"all age" Kanon: 2000.1.7
"18 and above" AIR: 2000.9.8
"all age" AIR: 2001.7.27

Let's go to the question:

Do ero-games relatively sell better than non-ero bishoujo games? Someone told me that, for example, Memories Off (a non-ero dating sim) is wildly popular... and can beat any record of ero-games in the sales department.

If this is true, then Clannad would have a very wide target market...

nanpa2: about 700000(?) (pc&console)

YU-NO : 70000(pc) + 300000(console)

FATE /stay night : 110000(pc)
Air : about 100000(pc) 70000(console)

MO : about 70000

So?

I think console's GAL game is impossible better than PC's Bishojo game

Sometime in the fall last I heard.

It's going to be Misuzu's story. How they're going to cram everything into 2 hrs remains to be seen.

*prays they don't butcher AIR*

And I can't wait for Clannad. I already got it pre-ordered

I reckon games these days are sold way too much by name.

I don't even notice or hear of games made by companies other than

Leaf, AliceSoft, TYPE MOON, Key, etc etc

Ya, there is a promotional cd.

On the cd are wallpapers(very well done), the intro song, the remix of the intro, as well as all (or at least some) of the BGMs.

Also included is the intro video, as well as the remix version of the intro.

The cd is out on bittorrent if you know where to look

If you're a Clannad fan, you should get the Clannad Opening that No Name Losers just released. They released both the original and remixed version.

I liked the countdown. It's very useful for singing along to a song and is like the anti-thesis of the 'fade in just as you sing the syllable' karaoke effects.

Umm, although I think "you should buy the pre-Clannad artbook which is where the promotion CD comes from" would be a better "if you're a Clannad fan" suggestion...

Anyway, if you don't know what I'm talking about, you can see it here: http://store.sbpnet.jp/bm_detail.asp?sku=4797327235

Other than Amazon Japan, is there anywhere else to buy this internationally? (Amazon would cost me about 300% in Shipping costs for a total of ~$40)

There are a few more online book shops like Sasugabooks (which only works if you live in US since they ship to US then to you), Fuji (who only ship to US) and a few more. You can also try your local kinokuniya (if there is one), but they're known to mark prices up to 250%.

Thing is I've never had to really worry about shipping since I live in Hong Kong which has tons of Japanese import shops, not to mention being pretty close to Japan so shipping doesn't cost that much.
