Been planning on catching that movie ever since I read about it. In one interview with an actor in the film (can't remember his name the guy from princess bride and robin hood men in tights) he said that at the early screenings they actually had to escort people out of the theatre. Sounds just messed up enough to be fun.

Yeah, i saw the movie last night and i was also very happy with it

I think the movie was pretty well done with a couple surprises every now and again...

and the end...that was just too good to be true...it's not everyday that i see a movie with an end that i couldn't fully figure out before it's time (even though if you pay VERY CLOSE attention someone "might" figure it out)

The movie even gave me a good little scare during one of the scenes...now all i need to see is "Grudge" cause i hear that was a good movie also

I saw it yesterday and am still thinking how good that film was because it brings up a lot of moral questions for me. Like what would you do to survive, and do you value your own life over somone elses. I was so impressed, a must see, in my opinion.

I really liked how the evil guy (can't recall his name) didn't actually kill the victims... he just put them in situations where, depending on their actions, they would either live or die.

That should make reading a bit ...easier.

I hear that the acting was horrible. I still really want to see it, because I like horror films. But, I'll most likely rent it when it comes out on VHS. If a Scary Movie 4 comes out, I'd love to see a parody of Saw on it.

The acting wasn't horrible, but it wasnt good either. The dailogue of the killer made him sound very fake, just the voice. Otherwise, it was a pretty good horror flick. One of the better ones I've seen recently.

I saw the movie yestereday and yes it was a good movie with bad acting. Some

underage kids snuck in and sat in front of me and my friends. They wouldn't shut-

up so we threw popcorn at them.

I'm not generally interested in horror movies, but if Cary Elwes is in it, it might be worth seeing. On the other hand, everyone is saying 'bad acting'. Hmm... Shaun of the Dead was probably better.

"Shaun of the Dead" is in another stratosphere of quality when compared to "Saw." I'm not going to waste much time with a review of "Saw" and will just copy and paste something I posted on another message board awhile back:

I saw "Saw" at the San Diego Comic-Con at a free screening and I should've asked for a refund. This is a terrible thriller and a terrible movie in general. I can admit that "Saw" can be a fun movie, IF, you go into it ready to laugh at it and pull some Mystery Science Theater 3000 action. Cary Elwes and Danny Glover give two of the WORST performances I've seen in years. We're talking Jeremy Irons in "Dungeons and Dragons" bad. Those guys must've been picking scenery out from between their teeth for months after shooting "Saw."

And the direction is terrible as well. There will be sequences with bland, static shots and then industrial metal will blare and suddenly you're watching a bad Marilyn Manson video with sped up effects and spinning camera angles. The car chase scene at the end was HILARIOUSLY bad. At that point I had given up on the flick and I just laughed out loud at how ridiculous that sequence was.

The big reveal at the end is just downright stupid. Cary Elwes' character is supposed to be a medical doctor, the other dude is a professional photographer. One should have a keen eye for anatomy, physical symptoms, etc... and the other should just have a keen eye period. But neither notices shit.

I will say that the flashback to the photographer having to navigate his crummy little apartment in the dark was well done. The very brief sequence with the "lock-jaw" girl was almost well done (except for the aforementioned Marilyn Manson camera trickery and music.) When Cary Elwes goes to work with the hacksaw I also laughed out loud and had some fun with the flick. And, as I said, I enjoyed laughing at the goofiest car chase I've ever seen.

But bottom-line: I don't think anyone should go into "Saw" expecting "Se7en" or "Silence of the Lambs." I'm dumbfounded by some of the advance critical reaction to this movie because I think it's laughably bad and far from tense, or thrilling, or suspenseful. This is a bad movie and should not be encouraged with any kind of monetary input. However, if you sneak into it, you can have a fun time like I did with a buddy of mine watching "Wing Commander" because they're comparable movies: Laughably terrible.

PS. DON'T pay to see this movie. Do something constructive with your 9 bucks and your much more valuable time.

lol, first....8 bucks?! o.o
How expensive ARE tickets down there XD
I pay 5 for mine down here (and thats Canadian! ) and the adults pay only two dollars more.

Secondly, there will be good reviews and bad reviews on *every* movie...don't judge it just by one It does bad acting, but not bad enough that you shouldnt go see it.

I thought it was great! Very gruesome indeed but also left a lot to the imagination.

There were a couple of flaws in the movie but if the littlest things bother you when watching a movie then you should never go the cinema to watch anything IMO just wait for the DVD release, it's a lot cheaper and you will be less pissed off.

Buy yeah very good movie with a few surprises.

And I can't understand why some people still think "alot" is a word, and make such basic errors as "more easier".

--.-- It's easy to critize others, isn't it?

Anyway, I thought Saw was an amazing movie. It was extremely creepy and laughable at the same, but laughable due to the terrible acting (I also sensed that many people that laughed did it out of nervous anxiety, for being scared).
The plot was original, and the end was unpredictable. There were some truly intelligent and horrific scenes, and others that were just silly. By no means is it a brilliant story, but in comparison to the horror movies that have been out, this one is somewhat worthy of praise.

Oh geez... poor, poor movie. SAW had everything going for it, great concept, great plot, great setup, great ending, good flow, all the good stuff. But that movie got destroyed by the horrible, horrible.... horrible acting and dialogue. It wasn't just bad natural acting, it was bad overacting. It had the guy from Princess Bride, and I loved that movie! Now I know why I don't see him in anything, anymore. And they lied about Danny Glover, he wasn't even in a good 60-70% of the film, and whenever he did have scenes, he was just as bad.

The movie was also plagued by the lack of common sense, for instance....
