My take on the Intelligence and Investigation Department is that the Investigation is under the umbrella of the Intelligence, an offshoot department that handles the actual investigation of a particular case, whereas the Intelligence handles all the information and resources part. Hence, the Investigations compose of more fighters than Intelligence, which are mostly covert specialists, like Verossa.

Well, the exception in the Intelligence, among many, is Leona and her comrades, which have something to do with Leona's past.

Converting a criminal mage to her side certainly is a feat, though considering it's Leona, that's no surprise. I'm almost certain her charisma worked its magic on Chrono as well.

The High Council was not in direct command of the Bureau at the time they were killed. They had already stepped aside around MC0000. In the current era, they seemed more like influential advisors with their own agenda. Other than them, we don't even know if TSAB-Administered Worlds have a civilian government (and in what form) or does the Bureau run them directly like a benevolent military junta. On the bright side, I don't think your fic needs official interaction on that level. Anything your characters need can be referred to as "Bureau resources" one way or another.

Does the Main HQ refers to the Navy HQ, or another thing? If it is the former, then I'll make a redo. Thanks.

If by Navy HQ you mean where the TSAB Navy docks its' ships, yes. That's the main HQ of the entire Bureau.

And yes, Aurion and Leona could be having a small talk among themselves later, though much of it would not be revealed, and a larger part of what Aurion already knows of her isn't complete. A serious incident much later will reveal a lot, and Aurion's past experience (namely, on the Perfect Void Incident) could be related very well to her. Does he ever consider a fourth "niece"?

I consider her an 'Ace' already! She'd very well be the latest addition to his 'nieces.' Though Leona should be prepared for a lot of head-patting.

And also, maybe I'll do a side-story piece in Aurion's perspective in GuardianS. It'll be a Aurion/Hayate reunion scenario after four years of not meeting (including a "I'm glad we can finally work together in the same unit, Oji-chan." line). You'll have to tell me the details, though. So far, I'm working on Aurion using Almaria and Reishiki in the battles. H.A.V.A may prove necessary if I pair Aurion against another antagonist yet to be revealed in the final fight.

I'll work on them, then. For that final fight, provided the enemy isn't as durable as Reinforce 1, Aurion should be able to fight normally. If the enemy would be incredibly tough but not very speedy, then using H.A.V.A. would work.

But as for now, I'm planning on him revealing H.A.V.A. during an emergency situation with hordes of enemies. If you want, you can have him reveal it earlier and have some people help him test it out in the training grounds. Agito shouldn't know yet that Aurion can fight at Ace-level, right? Though it might be just clutter your schedule...

No. I just made that crack line since the others were thinking that H.A.V.A.'s explosion would break Reishiki.

The two men, looked beyond the horizons, as they see the sea of red that filled their mother earth, the world of which they were born, torn and in destruction, the dawning scarlet sky of which the sun slowly sets and covers the countless destructive plains of the battlefield, and the ones that need not even the tint.

The countless bodies of soldiers, lying in their sea of crimson red.

To be a hero... is to live for the next generation. Not to die for it. That was what the youngest of the three thought, as stepping out from his jet-flier, removing his helmet and the mask of his face, revealing a youthful figure of a child no older than 15 with short, rough brown hair as he sees the world beyond what his glass dome did.

It was extremely painful. Mid-childa was almost unrecognizable to him, 2/3rd of the glorious city, which stood proud as the capital of all worlds was shambled in ruins.

“Sorry, do you have a light?”

The other man, dark blue of hair, sat on the ground, of which crumbled rocks held its place above what was once... something which seemed to be a flower field. He couldn’t remember... the more he saw the world as it was, the more of original world as it was escaped him. As he received the silent light, he snapped it towards the cigarette in place, but it wouldn’t light...

“Eh? How strange... there’s something wrong with this lighter... it wouldn’t light...”

“Your cigarette... it’s wet.”

He did not even realize it... his single cigarette was already soaked before he even took it out, as he looks on his chest, the red of blood from the slain enemies. It was not all of that, as tears from his eyes fell, unconsciously... an empty sorrow from an empty victory.

His hands felt cold. Pale as death, his red tainted fingers could only feel that much.

[Bugatti, Avant... do you copy?]

A small panel appeared, as activating the micro-terminal system attached to their Barrier Jacket, they responded to the call from the other comrade in arms.

“Volkswagen... are you alright?”

[Yes... but the instigators behind this war had committed suicide before I was able to subdue them. And while I was able to stop a complete deletion, about 90% of their database seems to be irretrievable... There are no survivors... I am the only survivor of my team. I have no excuses.]

“We’re no better here. Losses amount to millions... Cranegan’s a bloody shadow of its grand former self. It’s almost like-“

[Hell...right? I feel the same here.]

Volkswagen wondered how his friends must be feeling as he stood there. The silent lonely corridors of steel, dyed with red of both comrades and enemies... a meaningless victory that came from slaughter and self-destruction... and his friends, looking at a fallen earth of a home. Neither was a place to return to.

Blazing flames ablaze, remnants of the earlier battles withstanding as the figures of the iron forest crumbles before them. Even those which stood, the scars of the war remain.

And it was then that they decided it shall stay for eternity. It matters not to them even if it was the size of districts... It was a necessity. So that the next generation does not repeat the mistakes of the past.

That was 150 years ago. The old era of chaos, stopped by 3 young men of the generation before the previous...

But they didn’t know then...

That it was just the beginning of a destiny that would last beyond their generation.

I didn’t want to stay here any longer. After ending the transmission with Bugatti and Avant, I really wanted nothing more but to leave here. The nauseous, humid pressure filled with the smell of fresh corpses, blood, gunpowder...

Sealing this facility, letting the other officers handle this place at a later date... that was my original plan.

But as I passed a room... something inside me felt something. Even though I sensed nothing with my seeker spell earlier... something inside me told me...

There is something inside here.

A white reverie, a pure white room, the medical room of the masterminds behind the war of old era... the only place untainted by blood in our...no, my raid.

A solitary capsule stood there in the centre... the silhouette of a unconscious young child, no more than 2 years old was afloat inside...

There was only one name-plate which identified who he is...

‘Unlimited Desire.’

The two men, looked beyond the horizons, as they see the sea of red that filled their mother earth, the world of which they were born, torn and in destruction, the dawning scarlet sky of which the sun slowly sets and covers the countless destructive plains of the battlefield, and the ones that need not even the tint.

The countless bodies of soldiers, lying in their sea of crimson red.

To be a hero... is to live for the next generation. Not to die for it. That was what the youngest of the three thought, as stepping out from his jet-flier, removing his helmet and the mask of his face, revealing a youthful figure of a child no older than 15 with short, rough brown hair as he sees the world beyond what his glass dome did.

It was extremely painful. Mid-childa was almost unrecognizable to him, 2/3rd of the glorious city, which stood proud as the capital of all worlds was shambled in ruins.

“Sorry, do you have a light?”

The other man, dark blue of hair, sat on the ground, of which crumbled rocks held its place above what was once... something which seemed to be a flower field. He couldn’t remember... the more he saw the world as it was, the more of original world as it was escaped him. As he received the silent light, he snapped it towards the cigarette in place, but it wouldn’t light...

“Eh? How strange... there’s something wrong with this lighter... it wouldn’t light...”

“Your cigarette... it’s wet.”

He did not even realize it... his single cigarette was already soaked before he even took it out, as he looks on his chest, the red of blood from the slain enemies. It was not all of that, as tears from his eyes fell, unconsciously... an empty sorrow from an empty victory.

His hands felt cold. Pale as death, his red tainted fingers could only feel that much.

A small panel appeared, as activating the micro-terminal system attached to their Barrier Jacket, they responded to the call from the other comrade in arms.

“Volkswagen... are you alright?”

[Yes... but the instigators behind this war had committed suicide before I was able to subdue them. And while I was able to stop a complete deletion, about 90% of their database seems to be irretrievable... There are no survivors... I am the only survivor of my team. I have no excuses.]

“We’re no better here. Losses amount to millions... Cranegan’s a bloody shadow of its grand former self. It’s almost like-“

Volkswagen wondered how his friends must be feeling as he stood there. The silent lonely corridors of steel, dyed with red of both comrades and enemies... a meaningless victory that came from slaughter and self-destruction... and his friends, looking at a fallen earth of a home. Blazing flames ablaze, remnants of the earlier battles withstanding as the figures of the iron forest crumbles before them. Even those which stood, the scars of the war remain.

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding this whole thing, the hows and the whys, revolved around one thing: The Space Cruiser Ramza. What had happened on board the ship that caused the crew to abandon it? And what happened to the sister ship, the Alma?

After the Subjugation War, many people, Erusian and TSAB alike, made theories as to why the events that had occurred happened in the way they did. Both sides pored over backlogs and checked the logs of ships that hadn't been totally destroyed. The computer records from the time were searched through, but revealed few clues as to why it had happened.

Here is what was known: The Ramza decloaked on the far side of Erusia approximately one-hundred and twenty years ago. It was left to drift in orbit for a few weeks while the Erusians and Sotoans had a pitched battle in space. The Erusians recovered it shortly after the battle, finding the ship as it drifted through some space debris. They used salvage crews to place the ship into a repair yard and went about the method of cracking its hull, or rather, just simply finding a way in. Conventional high-powered cutting lasers did little more than scorch the hull at the time, so the Erusians went about the method of developing a higher-powered cutting laser, similar to the weaponry on board their space destroyers.

It took a few years, and in that time, the Erusians learned very little about the ship proper. The hull was composed of materials beyond their knowledge, and any and all side hatches proved to be unable to be cracked open with security overrides. At first believing that an advanced AI or survivors were on board, they spent time scanning the ship to find that it was totally inert. The ship was dead; there was no crew and no AI.

This led the TSAB to make the first conjecture about the ship's abandonment: The AI went berserk. One-hundred plus years ago, the TSAB had yet to perfect Artificial Intelligence, and sometimes a shipboard AI would go insane. Because of this, there were two security measures: first, that the scout fleets of the TSAB traveled in pairs so one ship could rescue the other's crew, and second, that there was an onboard override only accessible by the ship's captain. This override would erase the AI of the ship and allow for a new one to be installed. Logs made by the Erusians noted that, shortly after providing power to and accessing the computer systems, they noted a lack of AI.

This also led to a theory about the Alma's disappearance: its AI also went berserk. Both ships were exactly the same, after all: both were the same model, built at the same time in the same place, and the Alma's AI was a direct copy of the Ramza's. It's entirely possible that whatever had happened to the Ramza's AI system to make it go berserk happened to the Alma's as well and, without the use of an AI, the crew was stranded in space until they died, or were killed by the AI.

A second theory was noted when the TSAB came across documents that explained another important factor: until they ripped out the Magi-tech reactor of the ship (which is no where near as easy as it sounded), it was constantly leaking "an unknown radiation". The method used to power today's TSAB spaceships had changed somewhat in the past century; one of those was the use of safer power sources for their reactors. It was possible, then, that if the AI went berserk, it caused the reactor to overheat and malfunction - such an act was well within the AI's parameters. If the reactor was leaking, then it was entirely feasible for the captain to order a full-scale abandoning of the Ramza.

But there were still questions: why were the escape pods will in their respective bays? Why hadn't the computer database been deleted? Moreover, why did the TSAB security forces on board leave their Devices?

For them to be able to forego the use of escape pods, they would have been docked with the Alma. Teleportation technology had yet to be perfected on this class of ship, so to transfer they would have to have been directly docked with the Alma; not an impossible feat by any means, but if the AI was going berserk, then how could they have done it? The only solution the TSAB saw was that the AI had caused the ship to go inert, or rather, the captain had erased the AI by then, and the docking occured thanks to the Alma's navigators.

The database was a different story. Standard procedure required that the entire database and Operating System be deleted from the computers on board, thus rendering the ship incapable of operation . One would think that the AI and the computers would be connected through the wipe, but this was not the case: in the event that the ship was salvagable, it was much easier for the TSAB to simply install a few AI then to completely reformat the ship's systems thanks to a wiped computer. But for this to have not happened was not only a large breach in protocol, but something would have had to happen that caused the captain to forget about it. The only answer was the AI, perhaps threatening to kill everyone before the captain erased it. This also would have to have occured thanks to the reactor leak, but still did not explain the last thing: the Devices.

A TSAB soldier is required to have their Devices at all times; it's one of the first things they drilled to you in the academy. Another thing they drilled into you was to never leave it. Ever. So how did the soldiers forget about it? The only solution was that the crew of the Alma lied and promised that the Devices were already on board their ship. This led to a second breach of protocol - lying directly to another captain - and a third - soldiers being lax about having their Devices on them.

By the end of it all, the TSAB had some questions that couldn't be answered about why the crew messed up the abandonment so badly, but at the least, they knew why the ship had been abandoned: A berserk AI and a reactor malfunction. Both were understandable; although reactor malfunctions of the disastrous level hardly occur in today's TSAB, the possibility of an AI going berserk has always been on their minds, and even now, for example, Admiral Chrono Harlown has the override for his ship, in case the onboard AI goes loopy.

Right then, I think I only have one part left (the Erusians losing) before I go back, force Tk to help me fix all the hax (of which I think we have little to none left, and now it's all just technicalities and, God forbid, physics), and start working on actual OCs.

Speaking of OCs...the revised charecter concept for Franz Jaeger.

Character's name: Franz Jaeger
Date of Birth: January 5th, MC 40
Callsign/Team Name: "Jack"
Gender: Male
Looks: Short black hair, either combed neatly to the side, or cut into a crewcut when it gets too long. He also favors wearing black-tinted sunglasses to cut down sunlight glare and also "so that I look cool" (in his own words). Skintone is caucasian, with some hints of an Asian background, strongly tanned due to long hours under the hot sun. For PT/training, Franz wears olive drab combat pants, black boots, and a gray t-shirt; for official functions, OMF Class As, and prefers gray shirts and black pants when off-duty.

Alignment: Neutral Good. Franz is principled, mostly honest, though his morality is sufficiently elastic to allow him to abide by the letter of the law while violating the spirit. He's not a big fan of cowards either...

Personality: In two words: HOT. BLOOD. Franz is very much of the school of thought that more spirit and fire in your actions = greater power; he admits to not being as powerful as the more famous aces, but believes that with his fighting spirit, pure heart (well... as pure as possible, under the circumstances), and the infinite power gained from his resolute heart, he can accomplish anything, making the impossible possible. "This is the golden path of battle that all great men travel! The Magma of my heart! My young blood on FIRE! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?" Franz also has a great liking for speechifying and complex, highly-intricate plans that involve the cooperation of a great many elements and people, violtating the KISS principle with obvious consequences. When said plans fall to pieces, he usually gets quite upset.

Curiously, when being shot at, he can actually remain quite calm for a while, though his calm decreases in direct porportion to the amount of firepower coming his way. On the flip side, as his calm decreases, his Hot Blood level rises, so it sorta balances...

Powers (Device/Spells/Specialization/Combat Style/etc...):
Primary Device: A cartridge system Sword Device, shaped like a Japanese katana, (unnamed so far), with a secondary "Rifle Form" for ranged combat. Franz is capable of engaging mages in both styles, though he prefers close combat with his sword due to his sour remark that "Mages have antisniper hax enabled." (Spoken after failing to land a hit on Agressor Captain Takamachi Nanoha.) His magical style is a mix of Mid-Childa & Belka styles, with a strong affinity for Lightning-based attacks, which has caused him no end of trouble, as people constantly accuse him of having ripped off his skills from the famous Enforcer Fate T. Harlaown. (In all fairness, he did copy the latter's Plasma Lancer.)

Seconday Device: Pistol Device, (unnamed). Black, chambered for the rare 11.53mm Voycheck (which is similar to Earth's .454 Casull), this is essentially a 10-round semiauto pistol strengthened and modified to support magical cartridges chambered for 11.53mm. As it's built from an existing handgun, it's a somewhat more robust design than Teana's original jury-rigged pistol, though it can only fire an average of 30 to 32 cartridges before it has to be sent back to the unit armorer for a complete rebuild (which, compared to its original incarnation as a pistol firing solid slugs, is a nightmare). It can handle most shooting spells, such as Stinger Snipe, Variable Barrel, Barrett Shot, but accuraccy and control suffer from the fact that Franz keeps this as a backup weapon, and doesn't really practice much with it. While the magical cartridges put a heavy strain on the pistol, it can still fire standard slugs, and with slight modifications, the OFM armorer found that .454 Casull rounds can work in Franz's pistol, so he carries several clips of .454 as backup... which means that his Pistol Device is walking a fine line between a dumb Cartridge Device and a banned conventional weapon.

Knives: Franz keeps several knives with him; his primary combat knife has a diamond edge and is uber-sharp, while the rest of his knives (folding knife, camping knife, Swiss Army Knife, throwing knife) are merely "very" sharp. His fondness for knives has been criticised by his mentor and immediate CO, Captain Glen Schattenmann, while his Assault Platoon Sergeant, Sergeant Ivanovich, approves of his knives.

Spells: Franz knows a fair number of self-taught Lightning-based spells, mostly self-taught (finalise spell list coming soon), and has suceeded in replicating Chrono's Eternal Coffin. The attempt left him lying face-first in a field of rapidly spreading ice, and he ended up in the infirmary for three days, recovering from mana depletion and a frostbitten face. He possesses a Noble Phantasm known as "Unlimited Paper Works" ~ Infinite Filling of Multiple Forms, which allows him to concentrate his energies and ignore hunger and tiredness while he fills out paperwork twice as fast as a normal person, for 14 hours nonstop.

Rank/Power: 2nd Lieutenant/A+. Franz's role in the OFM is as leader of the Heavy Assault Section, as as primary paperwork person for the Ground Combat Element, due to his Noble Phantasm "Unlimited Paper Works".

Background: Franz is a city boy who grew up in Farbanti, and he was 15 during the Subjugation War; he was among the many who watched and wept as the Erusian Fleet was decimated by the TSAB, and as the military might of Erusia was rendered impotent. In that moment, he recalled an old Erusian saying: "Better to die free than to live enslaved."

In the next several years, however, his viewpoint changed, especially as the TSAB occupation force attempted to maintain order, not like slavers seeking fresh slaves for market. As the years went by, Franz became more and more disgusted with the guerilla tactics that were being employed by the Erusian Resistence, and at 17, he joined the Gardai, the Erusian Civil Guard that functioned as a police force, patrolling and maintaining order under the supervision of the TSAB occupation force. He served for five years as a Gardai member, eventually leaving when recruited by Erick von Long into the OFM.

In MC58, Franze adopted a 1-year old girl named Naomi; he found her crawling by a river, crying for her dead parents... parents whom he killed in a case of mistaken identity, believing them to be suicide bombers; Franz only escaped disciplinary action because he was the only survivor of his patrol, who'd been ambushed, and their TSAB supervisor killed. Franz would spend the next 14 years of his life taking care of his adopted sister, trying to be a dutiful older brother while wrestling with the sense of guilt that he feels. He loves her very much, and dotes on her, but is terrified that she'll learn the truth at hate him for it.

Combat Skills: Tactically speaking, Franz is very fond of intricate plans, thus violating the KISS principle. On the other hand, when the shit hits the fan, he's likely to head for the totally unsubtle "pump as much firepower into it" approach, which has lead to criticism from his superiors; on the other hand, it's acknowledged that he's a good leader, and that the Heavy Assault Section shouldn't really be trying to do intricate plans.

Franz has the near-total trust of the members of his Section (If not for Sergeant Major Ivanovich, whom his men trust more, he would have the total trust of his Section; as it is, he trusts Sergeant Major Ivanovich as much as his men trust the veteran SNCO). He pays attention to their welfare, and unlike most TSAB mages, is very serious about the buddy system that the OFM uses, where each man has a buddy who watches his back. (Except for Franz, because he's a beam magnet. His men will follow him into battle, but if they can help it, they won't be standing next to him.)

Other things: Is a fan of Earth anime; a devoted follower of the Earth God known as Guiness, and drinks Mountain Tiger Beer. He also listens to various sorts of music, including DragonForce, and is friends with his next door neighbours, who own a bakery and babysat Naomi when she was younger; he learned how to be hot blooded from the husband, while Naomi has picked up the wife's skill of making strange and unsual bread.

That's something that really bugged me as well; I also remember reading somewhere needing to be A-rank in order to fly? Can't remember where I read it, so it's probably not an official source.

That's pretty slow, isn't it? *frowns* StrikerS episode 5 rather implied that Fate broke the sound barrier on takeoff, given that sonic boom... unless it was an afterburner shockwave... maybe I'd better rewatch that.

Still, if they're flying at that speed... it WOULD make in-city dogfights more challenging, because then the Erusians would have to be wary of the buildings and such, and the TSAB mages could fly about and turn with impunity. Plus, if you need to evade and set an ambush, all you need to do is to fly into a window and setup, unless the enemy VTOL fighters/helos have IR sensors tracking you, like what USMC Harrier II Pluses do in Iraq now...

Slight tangent; in Fate/Zero, it's noted that mages have higher internal body temperatures than normal people, due to the magic flowing in their blood; Kiritsugo uses that to his advantage by using an AN/PVS-04 night vision scope; it's an early IR scope, which means that it looks at the world in green-tinted vision, and people show up as white-ish against the green, because of the heat they radiate; mages radiate more heat than normal people. If such a thing applied here, this might be a way for insurgent Erusians to track the mages...

The Sergeant Major was tall, grim, sunburnt almost black, and deadly. He was one of the most-experienced soldiers in the unit. From cannon fodder wielding a knockoff staff, he had emerged as a leader and moulder of men, wielding an intelligent device as suited to his personality as his chevrons were suited to him. He was gruff, professional, stalking past the arrayed troops like a predator looking for its prey.

Fortunately for the men, all were in full combat gear, properly secured weapons, water, and other assorted equipment, which was good. If the Colonel was God, the Sergeant Major was his Prophet.

"Men," he began, in his deep gravelly voice, his mustache moving with each word, "Once again it is up to us to finish what the flygirls have started. When we find the enemy, we will rip their spines from their skulls, and toss them over our backs, laughing! Men, here is where we show those robotic AI sons of bitches that they could not have picked a worse enemy than the human race. We are going to blow the hell out of those dumb Drones until we don't have anything left to shoot them with. Then we will strangle them with their own computer guts! Am I right, Freelancers?"

"Sir, yes Sir!" chorused the troopes.

"Sound like you gotta pair!"

The countless bodies of soldiers, lying in their sea of crimson red.

To be a hero... is to live for the next generation. Not to die for it. That was what the youngest of the three thought, as stepping out from his jet-flier, removing his helmet and the mask of his face, revealing a youthful figure of a child no older than 15 with short, rough brown hair as he sees the world beyond what his glass dome did.

It was extremely painful. Mid-childa was almost unrecognizable to him, 2/3rd of the glorious city, which stood proud as the capital of all worlds was shambled in ruins.

“Sorry, do you have a light?”

The other man, dark blue of hair, sat on the ground, of which crumbled rocks held its place above what was once... something which seemed to be a flower field. He couldn’t remember... the more he saw the world as it was, the more of original world as it was escaped him. As he received the silent light, he snapped it towards the cigarette in place, but it wouldn’t light...

“Eh? How strange... there’s something wrong with this lighter... it wouldn’t light...”

He did not even realize it... his single cigarette was already soaked before he even took it out, as he looks on his chest, the red of blood from the slain enemies. It was not all of that, as tears from his eyes fell, unconsciously... an empty sorrow from an empty victory.

Volkswagen wondered how his friends must be feeling as he stood there. The silent lonely corridors of steel, dyed with red of both comrades and enemies... a meaningless victory that came from slaughter and self-destruction... and his friends, looking at a fallen earth of a home. Blazing flames ablaze, remnants of the earlier battles withstanding as the figures of the iron forest crumbles before them. Even those which stood, the scars of the war remain.

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL, PART IX

He opened his eyes. Slowly.

And he found himself lying inside the medical room, accompanied by his Wind Talker fellows. Some of them were worried to see his condition, but most of them were relieved to see him relatively alright.

“Are you feeling well, Major?” Sitting Dragon asked.

“Somehow.” Armstrong groaned when he tried getting up, and was helped by Elisa as he sat down on the bed. “My head feel so light today…”

“That’s because you were pushing yourself too much,” Shamal said as she approached the bedridden Ace. “Fortunately, apart from extreme fatigue, you suffered no serious external and internal injuries.”

“I can see that,” Armstrong replied and later batted an eyebrow as he was staring at Shamal. “Pardon me, but why are you looking at me like I’m a walking dead?”

Shamal forced herself to laugh and ended in miserable way. “Well, you see, while we were performing thorough diagnosis on your body…”

“The potion you drank had altered your physiology and external appearance,” along came Faye’s voice as she and a panicked Liana entered the room. “As a result, Mr. Armstrong is technically 55 years but possesses the strength and look of a 29-year-old man.” Everyone, including Armstrong, stared at Faye strangely due to the explanation, but she continued. “We also discovered Mr. Armstrong had been exposed to Belkanite radiation during the fight with Baron Daban, which caused his body to stop aging.”

“Whoa, whoa, hold on there, Faye,” Snow Wolf said. “We don’t get that gibberish talk of yours. Can you give us simpler explanation instead?”

Faye shot the Wind Talker an annoyed glare. “Then how would you explain to him that he’s now eternally 29 without disregarding scientific proofs?” she insisted.

Ignoring Snow Wolf and Faye who would start arguing, Liana approached Armstrong and apologized for all the troubles her health drink had caused. “I don’t know why Hikki’s so obsessed with the formula, but I’ll guarantee this incident won’t happen again,” she uttered.

Armstrong could only smile. “I should thank you and Hikki, instead,” he said. “Otherwise I would have been running away from my past for the rest of my life. So don’t worry. I’ll be alright.”

“Like I said, the nullification of aging process requires extensive medical diagnosis to be performed if you want this phenomenon to be plausible,” Faye spoke as the debate became heated.

“But can you explain why ageless people like Ms. Johansen are so impossibly beautiful?” Snow Wolf asked.

(At dressing room, Frieda and Gwendolyn were discussing their “secret worlds” while Iris, Mai and Ginga exchanged glares when Frieda suddenly sneezed. “Bless you,” the other four people said.

Frieda blushed. “Thank you.”)

“That’s because beauty and being ageless aren’t related to each other,” Faye insisted.

“Obviously, Faye, you need to go out and smell the fresh air more often,” Snow Wolf sneered. “Hey, you can even ask Azali for a date. Shopping with Elisa is a good idea, too.”

“Do I have anything to do with that argument, Snow Wolf?” Elisa asked.

“Why, yes, Miss Hartmann,” Snow Wolf replied. “You should take this friend of yours for a walk at the park. I pity her who doesn’t understand the benefit of enjoying life.”

The three Wind Talkers proceeded to argue in Navajo language, speaking words so highly advanced even their fellows were dumbfounded by the complexity of their ‘conversation’.

“Young generations today…” Armstrong sighed and jumped off the bed. “Faye, Elisa, Snow Wolf. That’s enough. We’re going to the hall.”

The trio turned to him. “Grandpa?”

Armstrong grinned. “I don’t want to miss the party. Who’s coming with me?”

Spoiler for part 2:

“Anyway the wind blows, doesn’t really matter to me… to me…”

The moment he pressed the piano keys, the hall was echoing with handclaps and whistles. He, the pianist, was none other than Frederick Khan, Mister Badguy the Old Belkan Knight. And he was leading a special presentation brought to the audience by the collaboration of the Street Performers, the TSAB and the Belkan Knighthood.

“Mama! Just killed a man; put a gun against his head; pull my trigger, now he’s dead…
Mama! Life had just begun. But now I’ve got to throw it all away…
Mama, uuuu…! Didn’t mean to make you cry!
If I’m not back again this time tomorrow, carry on! Carry on!
As if nothing really matters…”

The special presentation continued, even as the Wind Talkers arrived and were greeted by the Aces. “We thought you wouldn’t come,” Nanoha said.

“Like Snow Wolf said,” Armstrong replied and glanced to Hikki who was now playing the Rhythmic Edge together with Frederick’s piano play. “Life needs to be enjoyed while we still have the opportunity.”

The four women smiled and looked at the Gale Whistler. “You and Hikki-kun are really close to each other, aren’t you?” Keroko asked.

“Almost like father and son,” Hayate added.

“Even when he became a drag queen,” Fate continued. “But then it was because his wife had made him do so.”

“Fate-chan, you’re so cruel,” Nanoha retorted. “Mai-chan only did what a married woman should do.”

The rest of the Aces, instead, gave her a very sharp foxy glare. “Oh, really? Then how come you said nothing when Mai-chan gave Hikki… that kiss?” they asked.

Nanoha blushed. “That’s… MOU! You guys are evil!” she squealed. “Are you trying to catch me red-handed?”

As the quartet began to quarrel, Armstrong approached Mai and sat next to her. “Your presence surely brought sudden changes to Hikki and everyone,” he said.

“It’s nothing. Besides,” Mai said with a low-sounding chuckle. “Besides, someone needs to take Hikari-chan home.”

“Now way!”

“How could she leave without saying us goodbye?”

All male and female TSAB staffs cried in disappointment. Their heart was broken because Hikari Kokurabuji, the priestess of Magnolia Valley, left them in a sudden without proper notes. They started demanding Hikki for explanation on the impromptu departure.

“Guys, I don’t think you’ll be pleased when you know the actual truth,” Hikki said.

“We don’t care of that!” female staffs protested. “If she has to leave, then at least she must let us take pictures with her!” Their counterparts nodded in agreement and continued sobbing.

“Ah, I think there’s a serious misunderstanding here,” Hikki pondered.

“Shame on you for asking to be put under that spell,” dryly Mai commented and shot her husband a cynical glare. “It’s a good think you didn’t have the memory of the occasion.”

“I only asked for a deep meditation, not a transformation,” Hikki replied.

“Then your wish had been granted, thank you,” Mai mocked.

“Well, forget about Hikari. Let’s talk about Hikki’s WAIFU instead!” the male staffs suggested and immediately took candid pictures of the Wanderer. “If Hikari is a beauty queen, then Hikki’s WAIFU is a LOVE GODDESS!”

“Hikki-kun is so lucky to have gorgeous sister and wife by his side,” female staffs added.

“But then he bags all the Riot Force 6 ladies,” male staffs complained. “And he always targets the Takamachi Sisters for reasons only he knows. What a lucky guy he is.”

“Hey, hey, watch it,” Hikki growled.

“Well, he isn’t as lucky as Yutaro, though,” one of them continued. “He practically swept all the women during the summer vacation.” (Hikki twitched in both horror and discomfort, as rains of Raising Heart, Bardiche, Artherion and Schwertkreuz impaled him from all directions.) “He’s the player, I tell you.”

“That title should go to Takeru, instead,” his friend suggested. “He’s the one who caught Frieda’s heart and stalked the Gemini Sisters. Truly, a patient hunter.”

“Just… what are you guys talking of?” the crippled Hikki asked.

“Today’s boys are surely lucky,” the male staffs said and cried. “To have all the girls and women surrendering their body and soul… we so missed our past…”

Mai’s response? She simply knelt down and took Hikki into her arms, cradling him as closely as she could. “But, then, he still has me,” she spoke in soft voice. “After all, I’m his wife. Yosh… yosh…”

“Mai’s loveliness is beyond words…” the people murmured in awe.

“…my cute anteater…”

Everybody gaped in shock. “Anteater?”

Mai buried her flushed face into the anteater plush. “Even after giving birth to Alice and Liana, I’m still not a good wife to him…” she muttered in melancholic tone. “I should have been more responsible towards him…”

Fan boys were awed. The very sight of Mai cuddling the plush doll was one thing, but the fact that it was filled with sparkles and bubbles made their heart race wildly. In a sudden, they cried and told May they would keep on supporting her no matter what happened to her.

“Am I not a good housewife?” Mai murmured.

“NO, YOU’RE NOT!” fan boys objected.

“Am I not a good lover?” Mai spoke.

“NO, YOU’RE NOT!” fan boys protested. “Hikki’s WAIFU! You must believe in yourself! Not in him who believes in you! Not in you who believes in him! You must believe in yourself! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!”

“Have they lost their sanity?” Armstrong commented and ignored the fan boys as the special presentation reached the best part.

“I see a little silhouette of a man,” Frederick said.

“Scaramouch! Scaramouch! Will you do the Fandango?” the choir group (that consisted of Annabelle, Caro, Lutecia, Vivio, Subaru and Teana) asked.

“Thunderbolt and lightning! Very, very frightening me!” the audience answered.

“Galileo! (Galileo!) Galileo! (Galileo!)!” the choir hollered. “Galileo Figaro!” (“Magnifico! Oh, oh! Oh, oh…”)

“I’m just a poor boy, nobody loves me…” Frederick sighed.

“He’s just a poor boy from a poor family!” everybody continued. “Spare him his life from this monstrosity!”

“Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?” Frederick asked.

“Bismillah! NO! We will not let you go!” the choir answered.

“Let him go!” the crowd pleaded.

“Bismillah! We will not let you go!” the choir continued.

“Let him go!” the crowd pleaded.

“Bismillah! We will not let you go! (Let me go!) We’ll not let you go! (Let me go!) Will not let you go! (Never, never, never let me go!) Oh, oh, oh, oh…”

“No! No! No! No! No! NO! NO!” the crowd shouted.

“Mama Mia, Mama Mia!” Frederick said.

“Mama Mia, let me go!” the choir added.

“Beelzebub! Has a devil born inside for me,” everybody yelled. “For me… FOR ME!!!”

Frederick was thrown a Gibson electric guitar and started a frantic guitar battle with Hikki and Yutaro, banging head with the audience as they played the rock portion of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

“So you think you can scold me and spit me in my eyes?” Hikki asked.

“So you think you can love me and live me to die?!” Yutaro added.

“Oh, baby! Can’t do this to me, baby!” Frederick replied.

“Just gotta get out!” the guitarists continued. “Just gotta get right out of here!”

The guitar battle continued, with each performer showing off their prowess in full spirit. Everybody else in the hall (including the Aces) joined in as they were banging their head and stomping the floor in unison.

Frederick left the trio and approached the piano for the final ballad piece. The Rhythmic Edge wailed in loudness as the piece started rolling, and the choir hooted “oh yeah… Oh yeah!” with Frederick as he played the piano.

Then the music slowed down.

“Nothing really matters, anyone can see…” Frederick sang.

“Nothing really matters…” Hikki and Yutaro added.

Suddenly the music stopped. The performers were idle, and it lasted until the crowd finally replied: “nothing really matters to me…”

“Nothing really matters…! To me…” Frederick played the final score, and everybody cheered and whistled for Mister Badguy. Hikki, too, played the final guitar piece in slow voice.

“Anyway, the wind… BLOWS!!”

The life performance ended. As the drummer was doing the drum-roll, Frederick left the piano and joined Hikki and Yutaro as they were bowing to the audience, who gave them a standing ovation and congratulating them for the energetic rock performance.

“Phew, that was quite a song, Yutaro spoke to the microphone after Frederick and Hikki left the stage. “Ladies and gentlemen, please give another loud applause to my fellows.” Everybody clapped hands with the young guitarist. (Backstage, everybody was praising Hikki and Frederick for the powerful spirit they had displayed in bringing the soul of the legendary song to its highest.) “So do you want more?” he asked the audience.

“Yes we are!” they replied.

“Well, then, please welcome once more… the Gemini Sisters.” Yutaro gestured to the twin sisters and retreated to give them space.

“Hello, everyone!” Aura and Freya said aloud, and the audience responded with a deafening roar of approval. “We hope you’ve been enjoying this special concert, and we’re so happy to be with everyone today. We love all of you!”

“WE LOVE YOU TOO!” the Linebackers and the fans replied.

“We’ll present you this song just for you,” Aura said.

“And we want you to dance with both of us,” Freya added.

“Is that alright with everyone here?” they asked.

“WE DON’T MIND!!” the Linebackers howled. “WE’LL DO WHATEVER YOU WISH!!”

The Gemini Sisters giggled. “Dewa!”

Yutaro started the song with the familiar tune of a romantic summer.

“Natsu no kaze ga…” Freya sang.

“Natsu no kaze ga!” the audience sang along.

“Kami wo naderu…” Aura continued.

“Kami no naderu!” everyone followed.

“Kinose kana, koi no yoka~n…”

Yutaro revved the guitar. The backup singers said “Sha-la-la-la-la!” and everybody cheered as the music started.

Freya: “kira-kira atsui no hamabe…”
Aura: “kira-kira atsui no hamabe…”
Both: “mugi wara boushi no, LALALA nugezuni ita no; okute na… Ah! Lonely maiden…”

The Linebackers were overwhelmed by the special Gemini Service they danced with the twin sisters ONSTAGE. Everybody else approved of the act, as they danced to the beachside music in equal delight.

(“Holy crap!” Kay gasped. “They’ve been poisoned by the song!”

Mai, who had arrived with the likes of Frieda, Gwendolyn, Iris and Ginga, was glaring at the intoxicated duo in absolute jealousy. “Baaka,” she murmured and looked around for a dancing partner before she spotted the lonesome Takeru. “You.”

The gunslinger boy pointed to his face. “Who? Me?”

Mai nodded. “Would you like to dance with me?”

Takeru looked up at Aura. “Since my partner is up there, I guess I’m free for use,” he said in blatant informality.

Gwendolyn and Iris stared at their precious little sister. “I think Mai-chan wants to enjoy the party,” Gwen commented.)

Freya: “fushigi na michimiki…”
Aura: “Shio no michihiki…”
Both: “yumemi ru mitai ni; de ai tara… Ah!”

“Gemini Sisters SAIKKO DA!” male audience shouted.

Freya/Aura: “manatsu wa ROMANTIKKU! Nagisa mo ROMANTIKKU! Hizashi mo ROMANTIKKU! Takanami wo kakeagatte!”

“This is the best day we’ve ever had!” fan boys screamed and bled their nose when the Gemini Sisters deliberately flashed themselves. “HELL YEAH! THAT’S WHAT WE CALL FAN SERVICE!”

Freya/Aura: “watashi wa ROMANTIKKU! Anata mo ROMATIKKU! Sekai ju ROMANTIKKU! Hiyake datte! Ki ni shinai de!”

“Summer! SUMMER LOVE!” everyone replied.

(The special presentation was broadcasted across Mid-Childa and neighbouring countries. On the radio, on television, and on the World Wide Web; people from all level of professions and lifestyles were captivated by the song and danced regardless of they were belonged to.

Crews onboard the helicopter heading to the maximum-security Point Silver Correctional Facility were listening to the life concert as well. Even the detainees were enjoying it.

“Romantic summer, huh?” the heavily shackled noble warrior uttered. “I’ll never forget…”)

The Gemini Sisters danced and danced on the stage, each step and body movement executed in perfect harmony with the accompanying music. They were exhilarated, as so did the audience and cameramen broadcasting the live performance.

Even Armstrong, who did not usually enjoy party and social gathering, found himself dancing with Keroko, and created quite a stir among his colleagues.

“Armstrong actually dances with Keroko? DOES NOT COMPUTE!” both Snow Wolf and Elisa exclaimed.

“The Sword That Cleaves Evil and The Red Devil… dancing together… USO DA!!!” Keroko’s team-mates added.

“You have never seen Grandpa enjoying himself, have you?” Azali asked in cynical manners.

“Real men dance with the wind!” Zafira cried out with manly tears.

“Ah, Zafira-san…” the people sighed.

“I never thought you can actually dance, Ojiichan,” Keroko commented as the unlikely couple danced across the floor.

“Well, Maxim and I used to dance with the wind under the sunset,” Armstrong said.

Keroko had to laugh at the innuendo-sounding answer. “Ah-hahahahah, okay then…”

“Keroko.”

The red-haired Ace looked up at him. “Yes?”

“You look beautiful in the frills.”

Keroko blushed at the compliment. “A-arigatou, Ojiichan. You look… handsome, too,” she replied.

“Thank you, Keroko,” he said with a smile.

“Come on, everyone!” Hikki shouted as he joined up with his friends. “Let us dance and rock this world!”

“OU!” everyone replied.

Freya/Aura: “manatsu wa ROMANTIKKU! Nagisa mo ROMANTIKKU! Hizashi mo ROMANTIKKU! Takanami wo kakeagatte!”

Yutaro played the final riff of the song. The Gemini Sisters danced for the last time before the music stopped. The hall erupted in massive handclaps and deafening whistles, as everybody applauded the dynamic duo.

“Well, that ends our cosplay party,” Chrono said. “All good things must eventually end, right?”

“True, true,” Accous continued. “I’ll miss this event a lot after this.”

“But there’s always next year and beyond!” Hayate reminded. “Only this time, no drag queen and no objection. Everything must go according to my plan. MINE!” She laughed in maniacal manners, knowing how the Halloween party for years to come would have to go HER WAY.

“So, I bet you don’t have to cross-dress as a drag queen again next year, right?” Fate teased.

“Huh? I don’t know what you’re talking of,” Hikki replied.

“What? You didn’t remember yourself cosplaying as a hot priestess with beauty I should have envied upon?” Fate retorted. “Hikki, you’re the worst!”

Hikki became even more confused. “I don’t get you, Fate-chan.”

“And stop calling me Fate-chan!” Fate mumbled.
