Retailer Rakuten is lisiting the August issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine with the cover revealing that Mountain Pukuichi's Tamayomi manga is getting a television anime. The issue will ship on Monday.

Plot Summary

In her Junior High years, the pitcher Yomi Takeda was not able to get very far in a cross-school baseball tournament. Since the catcher on her team wasn't at her level, she couldn't use her signature move, the "Magic Throw," and eventually regretted not being able to use it. After Junior High, she decided to stop playing baseball and went to Shin Koshigaya High School, a school without a baseball club.

There, she found her long lost childhood friend, Tamaki Yamazaki, who used to play catchball with her when they were kids. Tamaki also played baseball during her Junior High years as a catcher, and could even catch Yomi's "Magic Throw!"

Their promise with each other during their childhood could now be fulfilled! Walking together on the road of baseball once again...

The story of the girls who love baseball will begin!

Good, good. They didn't waste too much of the anime industry's strained budget on a Kirara anime.

BTW, there was another low-quality baseball anime a few seasons back. Something Cinderalla.
Watching this felt literally like watching it over again. Though I think that one managed good quality on at least the first episode.

Not really. It looked cheap. Like the backgrounds looked cheap and animation was pretty limited. But it didn't look inconsistent or too out of model. For a clearly low-budget affair, it was fine.

First episode was alright. It has three things I like: girls, hot pants, and baseball. Production is cheap, but it doesn't outright looked bad.

So, how is anyone going to be able to hit that pitch? She aims straight for the head and then right when it's about to hit it the ball magically drops at like a 80 degrees angle.

Well, it was alright. Definitely cheap and didn't exactly the voice cast, but it was ok.

That pitch is definitely all kinds of ridiculous. If that thing actually counts as a strike then it's downright impossible to do anything. Batter is going to be too busy trying not to get hit in the head. That's the kind of pitch that gets the batter rushing the mound to punch the pitcher in the face .

This is the third girls-playing-baseball anime I've seen, and I believe they've all had roughly the same opening scene. But this looks like a fun show, and I'm missing baseball now that the rest of the college season has been canceled. (The only baseball team I really care about is my alma mater, Vanderbilt, last year's national champion.)

I actually thought the "magic ball" pitch would be easy to hit, once the batters figured out what it was doing. If you know it's going to drop and go through the strike zone, it's just a matter of having the self-control to wait for it instead of ducking. The more typical breaking ball looks like it's going to be a strike on the way in, but drops out of the strike zone just as you've committed to swinging at it.

Was it me, or was the facial animation raggedly off-kilter in a number of shots?
I'll give this one a few more episodes as while not much to write home about so far, there's not much else on the same day so might stay on my watch roster.

Though it's no Taisho Yakyuu Musume, that's for sure.

It would require pretty terrific timing, at least in order to hit in from a non-awkward position. I guess it depends on how fast it does down too.

ok, the art is certainly not top quality but it is watchable.

anyway, so that's the simple explanation. Yomi worked hard and has a great pitch, but her team is trash so they lost easily. Good thing she met her childhood friend again.

What if she mixes actual balls to the face fastballs, to keep the batters guessing? It'd take really impressive self-control to wait then...

This was a much weaker first episode than Taisho Baseball Girls or Princess Nine but maybe it will get better.

Not sure if they're going to further explore what happened to the club before or if they're just going to leave it at that. Probably the latter, I don't think this show is aiming to be too serious.

I think they're only missing two members now. The one with blonde hair and the one with long black hair.

As a side note, I like how even Yoshino's focus is on the girl's thighs
And that one girl scratching her knee. Wow, who would have guessed that would happen playing with shorts?

those two new first years remind me of the 2 cat maid in Nekopara who are good friends, but always arguing. xD

glad someone can hit Yomi's pitch, so it's not really that overpowered. Rei looks like she would be a good team captain.

Last two members joined. I like Nozomi (?), with her fear of being overshadowed by the newbie who has tons of potential.

First match next week, they're most likely going to get wrecked.
