Holy cow, earlier this season I was contemplating eventually dropping anime and sticking solely with manga. Suddenly there are all these titles to check out...
Sequels (will definitely watch or backlog): Gintama Sangatsu no Lion Hozuki no Reitetsu Osomatsu-san To check out (in no particular order): Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau Dies Irae Juuni Taisen Code: Realize Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou Mahoutsukai no Yome TsukiPro Vanishing Line Dia Horizon Of course, we'll see how much of this list gets axed after Strike has its way with the season. I feel like i get hyped by seasons and then when its like 8 weeks in, the amount of shows that i get excited for decrease a lot .
Also lol 4 LNs, 1 Vn, and 0 Novels. All the superior mediums are getting shafted. Also all these originals being focused on mainly slice of life stories, idol/music stories. lul maxmium hype Dies Irae - It's prob gonna be pretty bad. But i just want to see it animated Mahoutsukai no Yome - ez Shokugeki no souma s3 - ez Kino no Tabi - ez YuYuYu s2 - kind of bummed the first 6 episodes will be the movie , which basically just means 6-7 episodes for a sequel. I would have preferred a whole cour for the new original content. Watch 3gatsu s2 Himouto s2 Imouto Sae Ireba ii Just Because 3eps Kekkai Sensen s2 - waiting to see if they have some cool overarching plot Vanishing Line UQ Holder Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru Inuyashiki Hoozuki no Reitetsu Dia Horizon girlfriend is a bitch Juuni Taisen backlog LL |

Considering that I ended up missing 99% of the summer season (the 1% behing Bahamut and Altair) and however Bahamut ends I'll be probably still reeling from it in October, I probably shouldn't plan. It helps, though, that this time there's a lot more shows I'm actually interested in.
Will watch, aka All Those Sequels: Osomatsu-san S2 - like this was even a question. I have my worries, though. ClassicaLoid S2 - I loved season 1 so I hope season 2 will be more of the same... hopefully with better music, though. Kekkai sensen S2 - sure, keep it coming. Hoozuki no reitetsu S2 - but of course. Also will watch: Sengoku Night Blood - look, I know this is going to suck, okay? But the game is silly and cute, and it kind of ate my life (it's partly responsible for me missing the summer shows), so I'm totally there. Inuyashiki - I'm fairly hyped for this. Hoping for good acting from the lead seiyuu. Will give it a fair chance: Vanishing Line - I'm not expecting much, but I guess it deserves a chance. Houseki no kuni - I'm mostly liking the trailers and previews so far, but something is not quite clicking yet. Mahoutsukai no yome - this doesn't seem like my cup of tea but I guess I might as well watch an episode. Kujira no kora blah blah blah - may be worth it, may be not, I'll give it a try Last edited by kuromitsu; 2017-08-29 at 15:32. |

Ancient Magus' Bride (Mahoutsukai no Yome) will blow all the competition away. With that phenomenal story, and being animated by Wit studio, its sure to strike the gold.

Ok, I think we're reaching the point where I can start considering what shows to pick up. So let's do this!
Must Watch Sangatsu no Lion Season 2 - I really enjoyed the first season and am really looking forward to see what else is coming up. I believe we might be in for a arc around Hina which is fantastic news since the sisters are the best characters in the show for me Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara - I missed the original hype for the show but then I marathoned them and now am really looking forward to seeing more foodgasms Love Live! Sunshine!! (Season 2) - Despite all its flaws I liked the first season and now that the show seems to be done with paying reverence to its highly popular predecessor it might be able to tell its story and blossom on its own. I'm genuinely hopeful for the new season. Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Yuusha no Shou - It's taken a while to get a sequel but one is finally here. I have no idea where they're going with the sequel after everything felt so unfixable at the end of the first one but that just makes me even more curious to see where it goes. Will check out Dies Irae - This seems to be a moderately hyped VN so I'll check it out. Don't really have much of an idea what I'm in for aside from knowing its a VN with Nazis in it apparently. Two Car - I'm not a fan of motorcycles but shows related to automotive sports aren't particularly common so I just have to give it a try. Garo: Vanishing Line - I added this to the list because it looked cool. Since I never had any contact with the Garo franchise I don't know what that means but I'll at least give a couple of episodes to see where the show goes. Movies (aka: waiting forever for them) Fate/Stay Night: Heaven`s Feel - Finally we're getting Heaven's Fell animated! Girls und Panzer das Finale - The final "season" in movie format to one of the best shows of the last couple of years. I've been waiting for this one for far too long. Panzer vor! And that's about it. Lots of sequels again on my list since lots of stuff I'm interested in seems to be getting this year and I haven't really taken a good hard look at the rest of the stuff. I'll probably drop something along the season (as I usually do) and pick up something else if I see lots of people recommend it as usual.

What? No proper original Mecha anime this year apart from the leftover of Gundam from fall 2016? I'm personally am glad that romance anime is at an all time high for the duration of the year, but not having even one original mecha show makes me sad.
Anyways, my biggest anticipated anime was Children of the Whales, because the PV was breathtaking both in looks and in audio. Then I heard its streamed on Netflix; if only Netflix did weekly subs... T_T So with that, I would have to go with Imouto sae ga ireba ii. The last of this decade's big three High School romance LN-turned-anime (them being Oregairu, Oreimo, and Haganai) authors latest work, which coincidentally all revolving imoutos (Girlish Number, Eromanga, and this). I've heard Haganai pretty much crash and burned in the end due to editor meddling or what not, but overall I liked the premise and the character interactions. Reading half of volume 1 of this one, he retains the same things I liked about Haganai, at a much more believable age for these authors to turn pros (looking at you eromanga-sensei). So definitely my highlite of the cour so far. For sequels, I have been wanting the sequel for March Comes in Like a Lion since it ended its run, being my favourite anime of 2016 and all. I don't have the same zeal for it as I did in the beginning since my favourite character's story (Kyouda Kyouko) is pretty much done, but still, I'm looking forward to more stories about my second favourite character, Hina. Other anime I'm looking forward to include: Just Because - another mundane high school het romance anime? I said before they're all the rage this year (Kimi no na wa's influnce?), but this one stand out over the likes of Honeywork's latest anime that's also airing this cour Blend S - sounds awfully like Working, and it's done by A-1. Hopefully they do the same magic Mahoutsukai no Yome - I honestly got burned with the previously released anime of this, but hearing this is the real beginning, I'd give it another chance Robomasters - real life robot building? Will probably won't finish this, but I'm just intrigued exactly what these competitions judge robots at Shokugeki no Soma 3rd season - sure Mayumi is like totally phased out, but I still like Soma's cocky attitude. It's nearing it's 50th episode, and I rarely get past this mark for ANY anime, so it might be my last for this series Umaru-chan 2nd season - people hate on how bratty Umaru can get, but I personally like it since it shows she isn't the perfect imouto most shows portray them as. Other mentions: Inuyashiki - this cour's Noitamina project. I'm really not into these kind of stories, especialyl when it looks like romance is totally out of the picture. Will be interesting to others though, as it sounds a lot like Parasyte Ousama Game - I saw the really mediocre movie years ago, and I'm just wondering why now? For anyone who likes Battle Royale stories, this ones for you My Girlfirend is a Virgin Bitch - I'm glad they hooked up so early, so I will probably just only see 1 episode before dropping this XD

The only one I'm looking forward to this year is Gintama.
Every harem Anime for the past few years has been action mixed with dark plots. What happened to slice of life harems mixed with lighthearted humor and romance? Who started this trend? Awe well.
