I was (for one) seriously hoping to see his reunion with Maou-chan. While I might not necessarily be so much into the revenge stuff, I still pretty much enjoyed all of the other stuff in there considering that it was quite well written.
So if there is any news about the series and the reason for it being taken down, I am interested. |

The LN is continuing. Volume 7 is set to launch June 25th. So Yes, the LN does seem to be moving forward despite the WN's deletion. |

I would of ended the princess right as I saw her again. No matter what, I would not of let her have a chance of bringing suffering to others innocent peoples.
The Kingdom would be after me anyways, so may as well ended it before she con do something to other innocent peoples. I would of gave the princess a second chance, as long as I knew she was able to change but the series right out tell us she will never change. So I will end it from the beginning. |

^ Leaving aside my preferences (fast killing enemies before they have chance to bounce back), it made sense for the MC's current mental state. He couldn't care less about other people (or rather was full of his own problems so didn't even think about other people) and felt that just killing her is not enough, yet did not have enough time/resources to do serious revenge.

Someone makes an argument for me to speak against this:
That's only a bandaid for what bugs me about this series -- the lack of connectivity to justify what the MC does to foster his revenge. Case in point: Kaifuku Jutsushi No Yarinaoshi shows us just how god awful the treatment he had received at the hands of the princess [prior to the reversal of fortune. We learn of his daily life, the punishment and ridicule he's made to endure because he's not a desired class of hero, the callous deceit in forcefully making him addicted to a drug that reduces him to a slobbering junkie. When the MC finally overcomes the additive nature of the medicine, he wants revenge. And we are with him all the way; what the princess put him through was inhumane (and yet, somehow much kinder than what the other two heroes did to him, so...). Nidome no Yuusha, on the other hand, doesn't establish what happened to bring the MC to want revenge. He's been stabbed and left to die, but we don't have an understanding why it happened, or even if he was actually betrayed by people he knew personally and cared for. What we do discover is that the MC is.... a little unhinged. We don't get impressions of shock at the betrayal, no sense of disbelief, or even a reason why he was turned upon -- however, we know exactly how violent he wants to treat his betrayers. Already, I'm not entirely down with this brand of protag, particularly one whom we have no idea how he is normally (if he's ALWAYS been bloodthirsty before now, that's going to significantly, neagtively impact sympathetic responses). Because there is no reason/justification given for his actions, when things lever the MC back to the beginning and he brutalizes the princess literally on sight, it gets uncomfortable FAST. Kaifuku showed up the horrors that MC had to deal with, thus when he does take revenge, you understand why, even if you don't agree with some of his methods. Here, though, you don't have that understanding; you don't even have the princess doing the actual stabbing to somehow okay his actions. Add in Nidome's MC's rantings from earlier, and you're looking at a grade A psychopath that makes you look at the story and think, "...maybe they had a point in trying to get rid of him." While it's possible we get everything and more somewhere down the line, I won't be here to see it. The longer the story goes without establishing connectivity the less likely people will keep reading it. Even if there was an amazing twist, it won't matter because my initial impression has not been changed by and of the following five chapters -- the MC just likes attacking people, reasons be damned, and he seeks to spread more suffering across the country. |

The start
Here is the start of the discussion:
The person: I have to ask myself, what is the point of this style of book. Wish-fulfillment? "Boring immortal ex-hero is betrayed by those he saved, so now he'll kill 'em all" gets boring after the first few iterations; there's no real twists involved, no morality pet to question the course of action being taken. It simply doesn't have any force of personality to make for compelling reading. Hence, this thing isn't worth reading after six chapters. It's just a diatribe of revenging on possibly stand-ins in the real world someone's spitting onto the page, and I refuse to be someone else's rage-mastubatory sock. Me: there is a character called Leone who question the actions taken by MC and company and she sees revenge in general is a mistake, and she wants them to recognize it and stop trying to get revenge she appears in vol 4 and the manga is in the vol 1 of LN and in JP there is 7 vol |
