All i read was Intelligent . I didn't read through all the pages . Sorry if you've seen these already -- Actually, no. You guys should hear these again.
Lupe fiasco . Best lyricalist ever. Check him out if you dont know him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Z4K_WWeBA His raps/ideas/statement on blood diamonds. If you plan to listen to any song , this would be it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otEjSZZ0uKA Fighters . Name speaks for itself its about people fighting . I guess you could say for what they believe in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35qXlrcgBUM Intruder alert . About a girl who put up walls to protect herself from the outside world . She let someone in and he was a complete fake . Sad song , amazing story. Yes -- His first album was all stories amazing guy. Dumb it down , Superstar , Little weapon. All great songs with extreme lyrical talent. Like them all , but those three above are the best from him imo. B.o.B -- Amazing person. Love him. Sure you guys know his single 'Nothin on you' Its good -- Not up to par with his other songs . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2sAjkk4864 Dont let me fall . Name explains himself , he doesnt want to fall like everyone else whose made it so high up in 'the game'(Lost it btw). My favorite song personally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5EP3KHu-VI&feature=fvw I'll be in the sky. Makes me speechless. I love it, he kinda sounds like andre 3000 . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ueLq...eature=related You can't see past my shades ft Lupe fiasco. Great effin' song. Song is basically about you can't see through his shades, you cant see the REAL him and you probably wont ever. I'm sure you guys also heard "Airplanes" . Great song also, but overplayed already. |

I'm more of an Old School East Coast guy but I listen to pretty much all late 80s- 90s rap. Current rap today tends to disappoint me since it lost the feel and I don't like most of this new "pop rap" influence with Soulja Boy and crazy ass Young Money crap.
Mainly listen to: Biggie Nas Big L Joe Budden (and Slaughterhoue) Common Jay Z Eminem SNoop Dog (old school...seems he selling out now lol) Ice Cube 2pac Wu Tang Clan Mobb Deep Rakim 50 Cent The Game Kanye West OutKast Sometimes: Drake Kid Cudi Lil Wayne T-Pain B.o.B Last edited by xl_Legit_lx; 2010-07-30 at 17:11. |

I am pretty sure most of you have already heard these two tunes but I just recently found one of my old cd's and recently brought a new one and thought I would share two songs This one is pretty old 3 years or such.Even though I dislike Kayne west in this hes decent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDCDrcZK4NE And then this quiet recently just got there cd and was blown away by there lyrics and there special guest B real. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3qU821mlqM This group La coka nostra started by ill bill, pretty well known for being a fellow mc with vinnie paz from Jedi Mind Tricks. Also for dissing Immortal technique.

The way i see it intelligent and rap is the words that come together when i hear Canibus. rapping from the syllables not the words |

Agreed. Canibus is one of my favorite. He's never been able to make the crossover to mainstream but his vocabulary, wordplay and delivery are amazing.

There's not much hip-hop I've managed to find that I really like, I enjoy OutKast, Kanye West and Kid Cudi. Seems that I'm only into the soul/house/funk influenced hip-hop, but there's not much of it that I can find. If anyone knows any artists similar to the ones I listed it really would be appreciated if they let me know.
I'll listen to some Immortal Technique sometimes aswell, but only when I feel like listening to some angry lyrics, so not often. |

well rap and hip hop is one of the genres that i less know about, but for intelligent hip hop i listen to cLOUDDEAD and Why?
though Why? has become more of an indie rock band now also, for some good ol' skool shit, i like Nas, also stuff like 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, etc etc if they count as "intelligent" |

Grieves writes philosophical lyrics. I think you'd like him if you like Sage Francis, OP. |
