I just finished it. Overall, its pretty good, though some parts kinda slow(mostly common route and some heroine route) while some parts(Terra route) need to be longer.

Overall route ranking:
Moon > Terra > Lucia > Akane > Chihaya >= Shizuru > Kotori

Overall heroine ranking:
Shizuru > Kagari > Chihaya > Akane > Kotori > Lucia

Anyway, I have 2 questions:

Spoiler for Akane route mostly:

1. Who is the owner of the golden bird? Kotori?
2. Who is the secret voice who told Kotarou to leave Akane and join her instead? I think this happens in Gaia's hall after Akane gone missing.

I'm pretty sure that the bird is supposed to be Kotori and that the voice is supposed to be Kagari somehow.

and I really enjoyed Rewrite, albeit fairly flawed in its execution.

Maeda Jun didn't write Kud's route. He only worked in common route, Rin route and Refrain.

Considering it seems like Terra-Kagari was expecting Kotarou during Terra route, I'm inclined that she somehow able to communicate with Moon-Kagari subconsciously or consciously.

Considering "Key" is born from the planet, I'm thinking of Aurora being something like an existence with "Consciousness" itself and both Kagari can share thoughts through Aurora. Otherwise, you will have to feel pity for Terra-Kagari

So here is my next thought, does Moon-Kagari manage to leave Moon during the end ?

I know they are planning to travel to deep space for exploration, but if the theory that each Kagari is stuck on their own origin planet/star then they need to make Moon as home base somehow (I'd really hate to use the term of "Forever Alone" here)

I wonder if that person who created that "Key Medley" video got it in his/her mind to update it to include Rewrite/Harvest Festa. Unless it already got an update that I'm not aware of...?

For those unaware, it's a nico video showcasing the main themes from every Key game starting from Kanon down to Kud Wafter (barring Planetarian) which also includes the anime versions of Clannad. I felt it was a nice compilation as a fan, and I was kind of hoping it would've been updated for Rewrite when I finished it back in '11.

About Kagari, I believe "it" is exactly how the game wrote it to be.

I see her as just some all-encompassing phenomenon given human form. So one questions if Kotarou was just fooled by the outer appearances or something. Then again, the "love story" of the Moon Kagari and Kotarou has the latter being somewhat of a bizarre phenomenon himself, so it might fit.

I always assume Moon Kagari receives all info gained from the Key. Or at least Earth Kagari merged with Kotarou.
EDIT: In Oppai ending, Kagari said she can travel to other planet. Though I am not sure how much trustworthy Oppai ending is.

At first I can't consider Earth Kagari same as Moon Kagari since they seems have different personality.
But once I reread Moon, they are actually quite similar. Both are extremely focused on their job, have short patience for interferences, and get noticeably depressed if they are stuck.
The only difference is Moon-Kagari never talks.

Alrite, just finished Rewrite and have a ton of questions!

I know some of this information was in the game, but here's my questions.
1. Why does the Key act differently in different routes? In Kotori's route she seems to have the most humanity (and she lets Kotarou get close) but in others she's just a brick.
2. In non-Terra routes, Kotori and Kotarou are "child-hood friends", yet nothing about their interactions in Terra indicated they were friends. Kotarou was quite unfriendly (even if he did save Pero). Are we to assume that Kotori subconsciously overwrote him since he was her familiar? Or did they just quickly make friends after he woke up without memories?
3. What was the whole story with Gil and Pani? Were they just the final results from the Gaia lab with Chihaya's parents (that had a sense of self)?
4. Why can the Earth Dragon talk in Terra but not Akane's route? You'd think if he could talk in Akane's route, he would, if only to laugh at Kotarou desperately trying to attack him. Also, the Terra fight sucked ._.
5. Are we to assume that Kotarou rewrote himself way more in Terra then other routes? In the other routes he hardly had any penalty for rewriting (except for Chihaya's, but that was moreso because he was rewriting his mind, but wasn't dying), but vomited in Terra. Was this because he was part-familiar in other routes?
6. Was Kotarou being controlled at all (non-Terra), since Kotori was able to make him forget about her in both her route and others (Yoshino yells at him in multiple routes about Kotori, but he really doesn't go to any great attempts to find her)
7. What was up with Yoshino? In one route Kotarou sneaks into the club room investigates school files on student, and along with Kotarou, Yoshino was a type "E" or something (what I thought was foreshadowing that he was superhuman). Was that just a red herring? Yoshino hardly did anything in Terra. How did he even end up in the hospital?

I really liked Rewrite, even though the true ending didn't have quite the impact that Refrain did. However, Sakuya makes up for it.

Notice that Kotori herself never once remarks on the actual status of their relationship (outside of denying that they're lovers). Kotarou simply assumed that they were childhood friends, because he only remembered her as an elementary-schooler and because he had been convinced that they were the same age.
If you haven't seen the bad end in Terra I suggest you do, it explains a bit more about that.

Yeah, I never got this either. My thoughts are that it was originally intended to be a familiar far more powerful than the Earth Dragon but they ran out of budgeting for CGs or something.
That's probably also why the fight sucked.

1. I really don't think that the other writers liked Midou very much. 2. Kotori's connection to Moon-Kagari is probably a lot less than to Earth-Kagari, and Akane being able to see Kagari in the first place is probably yet another plot hole created by multiple writers.

One can say that in order to see Moon-Kagari in Moon route, you need to establish a strong connection with her first.

This also lead to another question though. Does the girls able to see Moon-Kagari after the ending ?
