Yes that pendant came for Windermere and I believe that colony of bacteria are the reason for windermereans "feel" others. They are a very basic hive with a very sensitive connectivity with other windermereans and in less grade with others colonies of bacteria.

I do have to wonder. This is two factions in two consecutive series that didn't get peace nor defeated utterly.

Is it possible that in a future Macross sequel they are setting up an Anti-NUN alliance with Macross Galaxy and Windermere?

Out there theory. The Protoculture faction that created the ruins, Sigur Valens, and Star Shrine became the Marduk. The lines appearing on Mikumo are sort of like those that appear on Emulators such as Ishtar.

That's not too out there considering that Delta's art design went to the effort of echoing the Marduk Emulator chair-stage-thing.

Since every Macross sequel has taken place far from Earth (with the exception of the visit in Plus and, by necessity, Zero), it doesn't even damage the continuity that much for such a thing to happen.

It would also mean that those Federal NUNS forces with their super-tech VFs that they don't give out might also be not too good at actually fighting.

Editorializing now, but I've only ever viewed II with indifference. However off-the-wall the "official" Kawamori sequels are, they did try to break new ground. II felt like the leftovers of the original series, particularly because they never left the Terran system.

Why would Windermere ever share the rule of the universe with Galaxy? They are the Masterrace who could do no wrong and didn't even lose the war. They will try to conquer the world but not with pathetic non-Windermerians.
