Just read my digital copy of this week's issue.
This was pretty awful. Hungry Joker was terribad too, but I figured I'll give it a chance since Horikoshi, another artist of the same era, was able to improve significantly as mangaka with Hero Academia. But nope. If anything Tabata feels like he got even worse.

If you want a shounen that has nothing similiar to those seies then dont read since most shounen mangas recemble each other , i mean most of them start with a shounen diving in to adventure world and probably shounen name comes from that. Instead of complaining you should seriously consider if you like shounen genre to begin with.

Dunno why people are hating on it, it's pretty decent manga. I actually like it a lot atm.
And it's not like "[insert-shonen]." Just because certain shonen have overabused certain tropes doesn't mean they have some copyright on them. Also, honestly who cares? The world is interesting and original and the character dynamic is fun so far.

You can think of these types of series as the literature "ponzy schemes", its not how big the levels are, its how much time they can convince you to continuously re-re-re-invest.
When done right they're fairly entertaining time burners, but generally they lack substance comparable to their length. So far the series is doing pretty good though. Let's see what happens when the magic runs out.

ch. 32: seems like the undead-knight-magician is rather strong with a single spell, imagine if he had many of them >_>
am i the only one who wants to get chapters faster? the fights are short and the pacing is rather fast but since the #1 knight is controlled i think that the story will get into a big battle with lots of destruction btw, can healing magic be used on the MC? i think they have something like that right? |
