...Did you even watch these last two episodes? You know, the ones in which Asuka has failed miserably several times, and where in fact the entire climactic point of this second episode was that she got the stuffing beaten out of her (figuratively) without being able to accomplish anything?

Your argument has no ground in reality. Asuka is as far from a Mary Sue as one could get. Every other girl in the show is better at this sport than her. Her story is designed to be one of someone working her way up from the bottom, which is the complete opposite of what you're accusing her of being.

I'm not talking about the VN now, am I? This is the thread for the anime. More importantly, it is of no significance. You stated that you hated her because she never failed and made the other characters look like idiots. This is demonstrably not true, as she has failed repeatedly in these two episodes, and all of the other girls have made her look like an idiot. No matter what is going to happen, you cannot justifiably say that she "never" fails. Because she did.

Also, if you're talking about the future of the character based on your knowledge of the source material, you should probably stop. People do not approve of spoilers around here. Besides, there is no guarantee that the adapted story will turn out the way the VN's story turned out.

You do know that the use of desu is fairly common in Japanese, right? That excessive use of desu is hardly something exclusive to Ayumi in Charlotte so it's hard to comprehend what you want to express with that. There are a good lot of characters who share that same verbal tic.

What Kakurin said.
Take Shomin sample for example where all the girls add 'desu wa' to each sentence to sound more polite. - Which they probably even do in contrast to Izuna from NGNL.

I'm sorry all I seen so far was a repeat of Walkure Romanze without excessive-fanservice. Asuka is the clone of MIO, in addition of the same characteristics and personality, were challenged by a vetereno on its first day, and also fell in love and decided practice the sport on their first day, both thanks to its Mary-Sue powers along with plot-convenience became the new Michael Jordan of the sport in question.
both have as their motivation and your all the male character, in both cases the male characters,is his childhood friend and also his manager.

I disagree with you, the best route is Misaki.
No, not nonsense, because the case in question concerns the exchange of the most important character protagonist of the series, see the example of God Eater, where they put a original protagonist Lenka, the series is not considered canon.
I rather see a huge bias that you have for Misaki over Asuka's route. Also if you think Asuka has been a Mary Sue in visual novels, then you obviously haven't read alot of chuuni VN's in which the protagonists are seriously overpowered Mary Sue's

You mentioned UBW and Grisaia more I do not remember Shirou or Yuji lost his position of protagonist in their respective animes.
If you have read Grisaia no Kajitsu and seen the anime, then you would know that the anime has dumped most heroine routes save for Amane in 1 or 2 episodes. Most of the time the anime did not even kept the the main point of the route

Episode 2:
Is it me or is Masaya accidentally peeking the girl next door would become a running gag starting on the next episode?

Meanwhile, seems that Asuka has a long way to go as she got stomped by Misaki. Also, the fact they they'll have a joint training camp with Takafuji Academy would turn into a complicated mess later on...

Actually I've seen quite a lot of people who prefer Misaki's route over the Asuka's so I don't think that this is some sort of bias. Though both of you have ignored my previous post so whatever...

The original Desu Desu:

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

Also, who watches anime purely for ero?... that's not what anime is made for, well, mostly...

___ ___ ___

As for the MC... I am not sure if the MC is suppose to be the guy or the girl...

But so far it all points to the girl, you rarely see the guy, even the OP is 90% made up of Asuka. (plus the cover pages... and the first page of this thread...)

the male character is just a supporting character, but just male.

and most people symbolize males as the "lead main character" even when they really aren't.

bias that the anime is more likely heading towards Asuka's route than Misaki's due to the focus on Asuka (although it's too early to tell, because it is still in the common route)

For a show featuring girls flying in skirts, the camera is surprisingly tame.

Or maybe Strike Witches just corrupted me.

Just a reminder that discussion of the source material in the threads in currently airing section of the forums that has not explicitly been shown in the anime is forbidden, even under spoiler tags.

I have noticed, though, that there does not seem to be a thread for the game - if someone is interested (or already knows of one that I failed to find) creating such a thread to discuss it might be a good alternative.

Misaki looks great in her outfit.

So Asuka got better...and Shindou is a powerhouse. Somehow, Rina became relevant now rather than being caught in the nude accidentally by MC. Hmm...I feel like this episode went pretty fast.

Probably the best episode so far. And that's thanks to Misaki being a darn good character. Definitely the most entertaining of the cast. That very competitive nature and getting understandably heated during that match. Did a pretty good job all things considered against such an elite opponent.

Ep 03

Yep, that was interesting - the Flying Circus competition, training, etc., etc. is the focus of the narrative, while the characters are slowly peeled away for us bit by bit and interact and grow some as we get to know them.

I like it. ^^

Will be interesting if the Male Lead ever is able to compete again...and will also be interesting to see what actually happened to traumatize him so much.

(No, I am not asking to be spoiled, I am musing aloud. Don't tell me. )

that show is really very good I could really be happy if they really drop the romance and focus only on the flying circus all the way, the competition was really entertainment, but since this anime is to promote the novel probably not gonna take too much to start all the "visual novels romance harem troppers and all girls fall in love for MC, that is why i must make take my hypers and expectation, after the problem with the other visual novel anime of this season with the forced childhood plot which was a let down I learned to not wait too much from that sort of adaptation but this episode was really very good, kudos for the good job so far.

Misaki continues to be my favorite character. It was nice to see her competitive side. She did a good job going up against a champion.

I'm curious to see of Masaya will ever take up playing Flying Circus again. He must have been pretty good if he ended up inspiring the current champ to take up the sport in the first place.
