Here's my take - why the hell are children at ages where they are more or less incapable of thinking for themselves being forced to pledge their allegiance to the country? Sounds like a bunch of horseshit to me, secular or religious.

The Establishment Clause was written to prevent the Fed forcing a religion on the states. In the Everson ruling the SC flipped the original intent so now the Fed can force the states to do EXACTLY what the Clause was intended to protect them from. |

In other words, states can't violate a right that the federal government grants its citizens. Thus, states cannot violate a person's right to freedom of religion anymore than the federal government can.

yea but the idea that 2d kids are more important that real ones is still asinine. The implications of the passing of legislation isn't even dealing with the real issue of abuse of REAL children, but yea the point of the legislation bringing is true but the governments priorities are really out of place.
