Not really, if anything, his interaction here gives good lamshades of his future developement in the Force manga. We get to know more about his internal struggles, his relationship with Hayate, Signum, einhart and other characters as also some insight in his experience as a Zero Driver which culiminates in his confrontation of system U-D

Also kind of like Tohma's out going determination, he knows how being out of control feels and the boy reassures Yuri that he and Lily have the power to STOP her! Reminds me of the time when he threatened Fortis and Stella in order to save the assault team. Tohma can be bossy when he feels like it xD!

As a consolation prize, Tohma still remembers and values his experience with the Force cast(Huckebein included, mind you xDU) and it's nice to have him confronted with a situation similar to his's so he can be identified and be more open to the players and the fandom about his personality.

But well, part of this came because i think Tohma is a pretty decent character who only got victim of porrly tratement on his own source manga xDU. This game at least proves that he can be a pretty cool character with the correct management.

So, what, you want him to emo out every five seconds? He's still not okay with it in Force, as chapter 17 shows, and I honestly have no idea what they're saying in the following chapters since they're not translated yet. Given that Yuri is in a similar situation as him, it's obvious he can relate to her.

I mean, the only other person who could possibly relate to Yuri is Reinforce herself, but since she has the ever-positive Hayate, Thoma... oh why do I even bother. It's Force, it can never do anything right to you.

Quite possible. Though I haven't seen or heard that scene myself, from Aaron's summary of the Sequence, U-D did seem to have met their ancestors...maybe not directly, but through the Book of Darkness.

It was, after all, going on an endless cycle of destruction before ending in Hayate's hands.

Also, the diagram is nice, but it might have one or two more steps between the first ones.

And yeah, Thoma in this last Sequence was at his best

But... it's a perfectly logical character situation for him. And most of Force, last I checked, is still a bit slow to be properly translated. Even if it is appearing here first, it's about as perfect a situation for him to talk about it, given that their situations mirror each other so well.

Him doing it here to begin with isn't what I have a problem with.

And regardless if the scanlations are that far, we have received general translations of the chapters, and I've read the raw scans. There's nothing to suggest he's thought too deeply about it...that they felt the need to show us. There is that time skip of a couple months they just did - he certainly thought a lot about the Huckebein off-screen.

Well, he is physically one of them so you can blame him. But I have to agree that his comic did not do him justice and it is funny that the game flash out Touma's personality better than the comic.

Considering that the game made Yuuno more awesome, gave Reinforce more development than A's did, showed us Shamal's combat ability and gave Hayate more combat ability than she had in canon...

Personally, I blame the fanbase.

The sheer uproar about Touma being a guy and the main character of Force is probably what caused a lot of the problems with his development so far.

Sounds to me like a lot of people are assuming they know Touma's personality based on simple summaries and not the chapters themselves, as we're so far behind with the translations.

That said, most people are just upset he's sympathetic towards the Huckebeins, which is apparently a huge no-no.

Exactly. I find it double standards as Nanoha was sympathathic to Fate and the two are in turn sympathathic to the Wolken. Despite the circumstances, what they are doing is wrong and the Hukes' don't really have much of a choice either. It is do or die and not everyone will make the 'screw me' decision of Touma. Sure tha attitude is a problem but they will be seriously mess up if they do not think that way.

At least Touma is shown that he learnt from this experience and open his eyes to more standpoints and he actively tries to help others in his situation. I think he and Diarche are the only one whom managed to shake U-D's resolve.

Sequence 11: Part 2

Nanoha starts narrating in the background. The case just now will be officially recorded as the Unbreakable Darkness Incident. Our protagonists have already returned to the Arthra to rest, several of them not being able to move because of sheer fatigue.
We are shown a shot of the 4 dragged into the past, and they're all pooped. Vivio says that the part after overexerting yourself is hard and Einhart can tell that the two plushie devices are tired as well. Teo just meows exhaustedly while Kris still manages to do that maddening twitching.() Thoma says he's feeling dizzy. Lily tries to cheer him on but is pretty woozy herself. She requests the Bible of the Silver Cross for a recovery program that somehow works by absorbing mana particles in the atmosphere.

Vita comments that they sure have pretty troublesome and feeble brats to take care of in the future. Nanoha says that they had a great amount of help from the future kids. Signum agrees but notes that she heard the smallest one (Vivio) will become Nanoha's child in the future. It is revealed that Kyrie has warned Nanoha against making too much contact with Vivio.
Vivio: Ah! Little Mama~♪
Nanoha: Yee~s? ♪
Vita: YOU'RE ALREADY GETTING ALONG TOO WELL!!!
Nanoha: But I just can't ignore her~.
Not to be left out, Hayate prods Thoma to reveal why he's so scared of her in the first place. The poor guy freezes as if held at gunpoint. XD
Lucky for him, Kyrie comes to the rescue by saying not knowing about the future is best. Amita adds Professor Grants' two cents about the matter: As much as possible, whenever people from the past obtain information from the future, those info/memories must be sealed away.

Nanoha sounds disappointed so Kyrie playfully warns her that if this keeps up, she may no longer end up being mother and daughter with Vivio.
Nanoha: Eeh~?
Nanoha/Vivio: I don't want that~!
Fate: They're in sync!
Amita decides to take a shot a Thoma's case as well. He and Lily were saved through an almost miraculous chance. If there's even a small divergence, he might not have been... Thoma hastily answers that it will really REALLY be a problem for him. Lily pipes in as well in assent. That's why those memories must be sealed. Kyrie says that the people of the present will remember meeting the Materials and the Florian Sisters. They'll just erase the details about the time travel. Hayate asks why and Pinkie explains that if they sealed all the memories, it might be easier to remember everything by accident. The Florians will be remembered as people from an non-administered planet.
Amita also says that the future people's memories must be erased as well. They agree easily enough. Mariel asks if the data obtained when treating Amita and Kyrie should be hacked out of the system. Chrono says it can't be helped since it could count as illegal usage of Lost Logia, opening up a can of worms. Mariel reluctantly agrees to the data and memory wipe. Nanoha asks if Vivio and the other would be able to return to their time properly. Amita assures her that they will drop them off along the way back to the future. Kyrie adds that they will be borrowing King-sama and Yuri's power after all, so she's confident. Fate asks where they are right now.

Dearche: Don't address me familiarly.
Levi: Oissu~ Original! I've come back~!
Stern: Nanoha, everyone. Good work.
Nanoha: Stern, Levi! You came back!
Fate: Thank goodness, are you alright?
Levi: Completely OK~!
Stern: We borrowed Yuri's power. As to be expected from the Sovereign of the Purple Sky.
Yuri: Thank you very much, everyone... Thank you for stopping me.
Nanoha: *shakes head* No problem at all.
Fate: It's great that Yuri's better now.
Hayate: Don't mind~.
Dearche: So with that, now that the most pressing situation has ended; I wanted to massacre you all and let the trash of this world feel the terror of my darkness...
Nanoha: Un.
Dearche: But the world you live in right now is too narrow/formal for us. That's why we are going to Akage (Redhead) and Momoiro's (Pinkie's) world.
Fate: Eh...? In that case...
Amita: That's right. The King and the others will go to our planet.

Levi: I heard there's a lot of exciting worlds out there so I won't get bored. There's even dungeons and monsters out there! *salivates*
Fate: S-so it's those kind of planets...
Amita: There are a lot of sealed out areas. And there are even a lot of dangerous life forms abound.
Kyrie: That's where me and Onee-chan got most of our real-time combat training.
Hayate: Ha~... That sounds cool, I want to go see too.
Stern: Since that will be our homeland from that point onwards, with Yuri's power; the Power of the Eternal Ring will be used to help in the revival of Eltria. That's what Yuri decided.
Yuri: Yes... With my power which used to be only for destruction to be used for revitalizing a planet. That's what I selfishly requested from Dearche and Amita.
Dearche: That's not selfish at all. Levi and I have out own reasons too after all.
Stern: Yuri has found what she wants to do.
Nanoha: Yes. But in that case... we won't get to see each other.
Stern: You're right. It's from a different timeline after all so we can't visit each other normally.
Fate: That's sad...
Levi: Well, yeah. Even for me. But then again, I've had my share of fun here as well so I think it's OK. If I stayed here, it would be too rigid and boring, right?
Fate: Hm. Yes, I guess that's definitely true for Levi's case.
Nanoha: Stern... What will happen to our promise to fight again?
Stern: That's... Let's put it as someday, definitely. It's not set in stone that we will never meet each other again. Even if you've already become an adult, we may cross paths once more.
Nanoha: Un... I hope that's what happens.
Okay, enough with the NanohaxStern counterpart-cest. Here's the real fun part! (Thanks to Hayate22's earlier translation for helping me understand these two wielders of the Tomes of Difficult Japanese Accents... I'll be copying most from what you made earlier.)
Hayate: King-sama.
Dearche: What? I don't have anything to talk with you.
Hayate: How stubborn~. I'll be sad too if I can no longer see King-sama anymore.
Dearche: Well I've had enough of all the foolishness and that idiotic way of speaking to associate myself anymore with you.
Hayate: *giggles* You're so mean~. Even though we're like sisters.

Dearche: WHO ARE LIKE SISTERS?! WHO AND WHO?!
Hayate: You can even call me 'Onee-chan,' ya know~?
Dearche: YOU LITTLE-!!! Get outside! I'll let you have a direct hit of Juggernaut or Excalibur!!!
Stern: Please stop. To have the King go berserk would be troublesome to Nanoha and the others.
Levi: That's right, King-sama.
Dearche: Gunununuu~! *grinding teeth*
Yuri: Everyone... Really, thank so so much!
Back to Nanoha's narration. After some R&R, the time to say farewell has come. The present and future people take their own sides. Kyrie handles the memory wipe for the future ones while Amita does it for the present people.

Amita: With that everyone, really, really thank you very much!
Kyrie: Pardon my intrusion~♥!
Fate takes over the narration. They all say their farewell feeling they'll definitely meet each other again.
Back to normal time, the Aces talk about the Materials and the Florian sisters. They all agree that they should be working hard in reviving Eltria and are enjoying themselves. Nanoha is also wondering a lot about that 'girl who can grow bigger.' Hayate notes that Nanoha really likes that girl and the latter does wonder why. She can't really remember if they talked or fought that much, nor can she remember her name or face. Fate assures her that they'll meet again.
In the Vivid timeline, Vivio and Einhart are jogging together. They realize that they had the same dream. Vivio remembers a lot happening and meeting a lot of people so she's disappointed that she can't remember a lot. Einhart agrees. Nanoha and Fate arrive bringing some snacks refreshments. Nove, Rio, Corona are apparently coming soon...
In the Force timeline, Hayate is briefing Thoma Isis and Lily about their training system getting broken AGAIN. The three apologize. Vita says that the training system is primarily for magic training so it's not optimized for Thoma and the others' fighting styles. The three make excuses, with the Reactor duo saying they saw a strange dream and wanted to try what they picked up from that. Isis volunteered to help them practice and forgot to hold back as well. Vita gives them a massive earful that it's hardly the point and that what's the subject right now is they destroyed the system. Hayate playfully pipes in that she keeps on telling them not to cause too much trouble since the people in maintenance and research are bothered as well. Her tone starts growing even more amused and mentions something about teaching them a lesson. Isis desperately tries to say that at least their combat capabilities increased. A new combination has been made as well. Vita calls her a moron and says that again, that is NOT the point here! Hayate calmly tells them all to cool down and says that the scolding for the trouble and the praises for the improvement can be taken cared of in another way.

Since she has some time, she actually wants to see the combination that totaled the training system. Thoma flinches. Hayate mentions that she has been thinking of getting some training done with Nanoha as well so she invites the three to join.
Isis: (C-Captain Takamachi and Commander Yagami's tag team?!)
Lily: (I'll get shot down from orbit again...?)
Vita: Then I'm joining as well. Since it got to this point let's make it 3 on 3...
Force Trio: EEEEEHHHHH~~~?!!??!
Thoma, definitely crying tears of a doomed man inside prays for Su-chan to come save him. But he realizes there's no way that can happen since brought this upon himself. Hayate cheerfully announces the schedule of the match is after 35 minutes. The doomed trio can do nothing but obey.
Back to Eltria. Amita thinks that it's like it's been a long time since the incident. The planet is still slowly dying but the Professor's research which he devoted his life to are showing results. Signs of recovery are now seen. Yuri and the Materials are helping as well. The Sovereign of the Purple Sky is earnestly doing everything within her power to help revive Eltria. Dearche and the other two Materials also helped (Dearche will of course complain at times).

Levi has apparently been dealing with the threat of monsters for her own enjoyment, inadvertently saving many villages. Stern has been helping in creating water purification systems. Dearche has been using the spells found in her Tome for several ways to help the people and environment. The four are really helping a lot.
Professor Grants Florian has already passed away. He may not have succeeded in saving the planet, but the seeds of his efforts have been planted and are being watched over well. The possibility of saving Eltria definitely exists now. He was able to die leaving plenty of smiles filled with thankfulness and hope to his daughters and the others. The sisters are in front of his grave:
Kyrie: I always keep on thinking this when I see it, but I'm glad we were able to show the Professor this place/atmosphere.
Amitie: It's thanks to Yuri and the King. And of course, it's also thanks to you who brought the 4 all the way here.
Kyrie: Is that sarcasm? In the end I wasn't able to do anything by myself.
Amitie: I'm not being sarcastic, these are my true feelings. Ah, and of course, those kind mages who also helped us...
Kyrie: Yeah.
Hailing from different points in history, to the people who connected with each other even for just a little... Amitie gives her heartfelt thanks...

Thanks to everyone, their world is very beautiful right now...

Whew! That ends the main story of The Gears of Destiny. What's left is the epilogue, Sequence X. And of course, I'll be making some more updates to past chapters as well as a general info and comments posts. :3

Once again, thanks for the translation. A few things, Lily request the book to aid recovery by asoorbing mana particles in the atmosphere. Then, the Crew of the Purple Sky are all very willing in aiding the restoration, not just Yuri but so is Diarche, Levi and Stern. The planet is still dying but showing signs of recovery and finally Touma's part about why Su-chan will not bail his butt out is because he brought trouble to himself for wrecking the training equipment.

Great job man and I'm disappointed that the old western style clothings the twins are wearing in the cg in front of their dad's grave is not avalible for select. It has a great Wild Arms feel. I agree strongly with you that Sequence X is deadly as it kills people by showing how cute Yuri is. Looking foward to it man.

Really, thank so so much! Back to Nanoha's narration. After some R&R, the time to say farewell has come. The present and future people take their own sides. Kyrie handles the memory wipe for the future ones while Amita does it for the present people. Amita: With that everyone, really, really thank you very much! Kyrie: Pardon my intrusion~♥! Fate takes over the narration. They all say their farewell feeling they'll definitely meet each other again. Back to normal time, the Aces talk about the Materials and the Florian sisters. They all agree that they should be working hard in reviving Eltria and are enjoying themselves. Nanoha is also wondering a lot about that 'girl who can grow bigger.' Hayate notes that Nanoha really likes that girl and the latter does wonder why. She can't really remember if they talked or fought that much, nor can she remember her name or face. Fate assures her that they'll meet again. In the Vivid timeline, Vivio and Einhart are jogging together. They realize that they had the same dream. Vivio remembers a lot happening and meeting a lot of people so she's disappointed that she can't remember a lot. Einhart agrees. Nanoha and Fate arrive bringing some snacks refreshments. Nove, Rio, Corona are apparently coming soon... In the Force timeline, Hayate is briefing Thoma Isis and Lily about their training system getting broken AGAIN. The three apologize. Vita says that the training system is primarily for magic training so it's not optimized for Thoma and the others' fighting styles. The three make excuses, with the Reactor duo saying they saw a strange dream and wanted to try what they picked up from that. Isis volunteered to help them practice and forgot to hold back as well. Vita gives them a massive earful that it's hardly the point and that what's the subject right now is they destroyed the system. Hayate playfully pipes in that she keeps on telling them not to cause too much trouble since the people in maintenance and research are bothered as well. Her tone starts growing even more amused and mentions something about teaching them a lesson. Isis desperately tries to say that at least their combat capabilities increased. A new combination has been made as well. Vita calls her a moron and says that again, that is NOT the point here! Hayate calmly tells them all to cool down and says that the scolding for the trouble and the praises for the improvement can be taken cared of in another way. Since she has some time, she actually wants to see the combination that totaled the training system. Thoma flinches. Hayate mentions that she has been thinking of getting some training done with Nanoha as well so she invites the three to join. Isis: (C-Captain Takamachi and Commander Yagami's tag team?!) Lily: (I'll get shot down from orbit again...?) Vita: Then I'm joining as well. Since it got to this point let's make it 3 on 3... Force Trio: *EEEEEHHHHH~~~?!!??!* Thoma, definitely crying tears of a doomed man inside prays for Su-chan to come save him. But he realizes there's no way that can happen since brought this upon himself. Hayate cheerfully announces the schedule of the match is after 35 minutes. The doomed trio can do nothing but obey. Back to Eltria. Amita thinks that it's like it's been a long time since the incident. The planet is still slowly dying but the Professor's research which he devoted his life to are showing results. Signs of recovery are now seen. Yuri and the Materials are helping as well. The Sovereign of the Purple Sky is earnestly doing everything within her power to help revive Eltria. Dearche and the other two Materials also helped (Dearche will of course complain at times). Levi has apparently been dealing with the threat of monsters for her own enjoyment, inadvertently saving many villages. Stern has been helping in creating water purification systems. Dearche has been using the spells found in her Tome for several ways to help the people and environment. The four are really helping a lot. Professor Grants Florian has already passed away. He may not have succeeded in saving the planet, but the seeds of his efforts have been planted and are being watched over well. The possibility of saving Eltria definitely exists now. He was able to die leaving plenty of smiles filled with thankfulness and hope to his daughters and the others. The sisters are in front of his grave: Kyrie: I always keep on thinking this when I see it, but I'm glad we were able to show the Professor this place/atmosphere. Amitie: It's thanks to Yuri and the King. And of course, it's also thanks to you who brought the 4 all the way here. Kyrie: Is that sarcasm? In the end I wasn't able to do anything by myself. Amitie: I'm not being sarcastic, these are my true feelings. Ah, and of course, those kind mages who also helped us... Kyrie: Yeah. Hailing from different points in history, to the people who connected with each other even for just a little... Amitie gives her heartfelt thanks... Thanks to everyone, their world is very beautiful right now... Whew! That ends the main story of The Gears of Destiny. What's left is the epilogue, Sequence X. And of course, I'll be making some more updates to past chapters as well as a general info and comments posts. :3 Spoiler for Things to prepare for in Sequence X: Prepare yourselves for possible attacks of MOEBEETUS. Yuri is such a pure, undiluted package of ADORABLE that she ranks at the top of my list of Moe Characters for the Nanoha series as a whole right now... P.S. Even if it is appearing here first, it's about as perfect a situation for him to talk about it, given that their situations mirror each other so well.

And regardless if the scanlations are that far, we have received general translations of the chapters, and I've read the raw scans. There's nothing to suggest he's thought too deeply about it...that they felt the need to show us. There is that time skip of a couple months they just did - he certainly thought a lot about the Huckebein off-screen.

rxrx Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011	Once again, thanks for the translation. A few things, Lily request the book to aid recovery by asoorbing mana particles in the atmosphere. Then, the Crew of the Purple Sky are all very willing in aiding the restoration, not just Yuri but so is Diarche, Levi and Stern. The planet is still dying but showing signs of recovery and finally Touma's part about why Su-chan will not bail his butt out is because he brought trouble to himself for wrecking the training equipment. Great job man and I'm disappointed that the old western style clothings the twins are wearing in the cg in front of their dad's grave is not avalible for select. It has a great Wild Arms feel. I agree strongly with you that Sequence X is deadly as it kills people by showing how cute Yuri is. Looking foward to it man.
