Count me in on this series. Spring is going to be a rather twintaily season

By the way, I have no idea what this series is about. For some reason I got Campione vibes from it... anyone have any info? Seems to be a LN, so I'd appreciate non-spoilerific info

If you want to know what Date A Live is about, the basic plot revolves around a highschool student who mysteriously gets involved in a certain disaster when mysterious beings known as "Spirits" appear. When confronted by his little sister who works for a secret organization, he is forced to date the Spirits. That's all I can get since I have read the manga, and I hope you can enjoy the first episode once it comes out.

Its a more fantasy Kaminomi but the MC lacks the same "knowledge and experience" Keima has.

I think the reason why people may see some resemblance to Houki is due to what you already mentioned (only slight tsundere though) plus the bow, that she uses to put hair in a ponytail. Sera, on the other hand uses a scrunchy.

I would probably add Sera to the list. I said a little joke a few years ago about the kendo girl being Japan's template for girls like Tohka. The main requirements are usually these:

Ponytail (dark haired increases the compatibility)
Breasts
uses a sword
Mostly overlooked, but one trait I like is the glare

Sera follows this perfectly, as well as Tohka. But yes, Tohka resembles Houki much more than Sera

Well, I gave the manga a read, and for 6 chapters, I like what I've seen so far. That is, it's quite funny, and hopefully the anime carries that over, but there was one thing in particular that I realized right away, and that was the anime really puts into motion the movements of the characters. For example, in the manga, you get the idea that Kotori stomped him to wake him up. In the preview pic I posted, you can see they took it a step further and showed her jump-kick, pantsu and all, which wasn't in the manga.

It's moments like those that I presume they will give us some fanservice to complement the story, but, if I had compare, perhaps Date A Live will have a level of fanservice comparable to, eh, Mayo Chiki, as in it's not center stage, but it will have its moments. Which is okay to me honestly, as I find the story interesting and it seems the action will be top notch.
