Okay, watching this episode seems to bring on even more cliches and surprises for me. Makes me wonder why Sainglan and Mariandale have factions and battles at night against others who have their own goals. Kon and Pet seem to want to visit Olvidia for their own purposes.

The Emperor is quite a sly fox - pretending to be senile to make his enemies put their guard down.
Reminds me of that story about a newly crowned king that did nothing but party for a year - and after all the corrupt officials have shown their true colors, he quickly and efficiently dealt with them...

I wonder why did he decide to not tell what destiny he saw for Kon?

Why must all translations for this show be so horrible? Is it really that hard to properly translate the joke about Maido no Miyage (Hell Send-Away Gift/ Gift from Maid)?

I'd thought that the Furry and Transgender group were more of Special Interest lobbies, not necessarily Anti Empire Groups. Think of Political or Civil Activist groups.

Underground = Civil Society.

Well, if all Activists are under Imperial definition, Anti-Empire, that might explain it. Perhaps somewhere, there was a law banning the freedom of meeting and association, and Civil Society.

Not necessarily. They can be double agents, pretending to lead the insurgents - to split their forces.

Just watched the last episode where Kon is looking for the astronomy tower, another great episode. Only anime in a long time where I think each and every episode is enterataining. Hope this show lasts over 25 episodes, don't really care how long they keep padding it out with Kon getting caught up on another adventure that distracts him from returning home, this anime is bloody entertaining.

Well, if Variation was really, really competent, he would have put a second bullet through each of the Princess's companions, and threw them out of the window to cover up the evidence and guarantee a sure kill. And yes, he would have taken the Princess's advice, and simply put a bullet into her, though the last is at least excusable somewhat, since he does understand that he is indeed acting out a cliche, and voluntarily chooses to take the risk anyway to satisfy his own curiosity.

But hey, there wouldn't be any more DT then right?

Anyway, this episode is : Variation 007 in action.

And sadly, given how horrid sales are for this show, I don't think it's going to get more than 24 episodes. I think budget issues were showing in the animation in this episode.
