Why didn't anyone tell me that Xenoblade has gotten a European release date?! It's a related article on Siliconera to the one that Sides linked. There's even a neat pre-order bundle!

I don't like digital distribution on consoles, as they inevitably come with DRM of some kind, and there's no real proof that you own (or have a license for, grr) the game. It also requires storage space. Finally, they don't have price drops.

I don't like the Windows PC as a gaming platform, especially if they're going to force me to download and install Steam to buy and play unrelated games.

It was announce earlier this year ^^.
Project rainfall is about, that PAL areas are getting localisations of these three games, and the NA not. People are asking for a NA release, since it is already translated in english, french, spanish and others languages, for the Pal regions. At the moment we have not idea why NA are not getting these game. Maybe they don't enough translators, since both NOE and NOA are still looking for qualified translators, since last year, and localisation managers as well.

I had the impression that there was only hearsay until very recently about PAL localisations, not reading any confirmations anywhere, including this thread.

You don't really need to modify it though. Just use homebrew.

You might be right, Xenoblade localisation for was like a open secret, think someone working at NOE let it out last year. As for The last story and pandora's tower, apparently demo versions are put up at the japan-expo in france this week/weekend.

Aye, since NOA is being douches about bringing it stateside, I'm settling for the PAL versions. Thank god for Homebrew.

Way... poor showing NOA... luckily for me I'm in PAL land so I can grab a Euro copy (day 1).. but it's unfortunate that American buyers are being punished if they don't mod their Wiis... wonder if The Last Story will go through this as well...

I'll give NoA until Skyward Sword comes out before I mod my Wii and import the games. Somewhat to see if they change their mind, but mostly so I know if Skyward Sword is going to force a firmware update for homebrew purposes.

Yeah that probably would be the best time to wait to mod...

I don't see the point in waiting. Nintendo isn't adding any new features or libraries to the system since version 4.2, so there's no point in updating. Mod your Wii so it ignores disc-based firmware updates.

By the way, PAL land may be getting Xenoblade, but it never got Arc Rise Fantasia.

Well, I'm still on whatever firmware Super Mario Galaxy (1) required you to install, so I don't think I have the required firmware for Wii-Motion Plus. I'd rather just use whatever forced update is on the disc than download the online firmware. And since I already got a Classic Pro from Monster Hunter Tri, I don't need to try and get the awesome special Xenoblade one.

I'll take Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower over Arc Rise Fantasia...

It is in english now, read and understand why this is the best JRPG this gen. And if you don't have a Wii get it just for this game, you will regret it as a jrpg fan for not playing it, just like if you have missed out on Baten Kaitos on the cube.

You can thank Ignition for that. They seem to be infamous for their shoddy work. Did you bombard them with complaints yet?

*reads article* I wonder when Nintendo is going to get competent web developers...

New release date for Xenoblade in europe. Source NoE.
This time it is not a delay. Instead it will be released 2 weeks earlier than the planned date. So the new date will be 19/08/2011, yes next month. Get ready...
