Just what i thought, the feeling of this just being straight after the last series is all there - just what i wanted.

Anyway, of course great episode - good to see the OP hasen't changed, and that the musical score is staying the same. Shall have to rewatch the episode tonight to double enjoy it~

Actually I think the creepy atmosphere added a lot to it. It was one of my favorite things about the episode, it definitely distinguishes the twins from the others we've seen - and it didn't detract from the one brief action scene at all.

No. They shuffled the episodes around.
Goat, Jihad Rock N Roll was the last two episodes of the first season.

There's a LOT of shuffling around done to the first season.
For example, In the original manga, the Roberta episodes happened BEFORE the Neo Nazi episodes. The cigar kiss episode came after the Nazi episodes, then went right into the Twins episodes. After the twins story arc, the Mr. Chan's delivery to CIA episode (Goat, Jihad Rock N Roll) came.

BTW, they edited that story arc (Jihad) heavily in the anime.
In the original manga, the guys coming for their "picnic plan" was the Islamic extremist organization "Hezbollah".
However, using real terroist organization's name was a bit risky for TV, so they didn't reveal the name of the organization in the anime.

Also to note is that Black Lagoon is NOT taking place present day.
It's taking place in the late 1990s.

It was quite obvious who Ibraha was working for, since he said that he and Takenaka first met in the Beqaa Valley.

It was also hinted that their goal was to assassinate the U.S. President (I might be wrong here, but I think it was heavily hinted at). The list carried by Rock was the names and locations of the agents in this operation.

Hinting at a "generic islamic terrorist group"
and actually USING a real organization's name is totally diffrent thing, my friend.
The danger behind the two is significantly diffrent.

It's interesting that chinese "triad" isn't considered nearly as risky to use,
considering the generic nature of the term "chinese triad".
However, they did use acutual real organization names within the triad in the anime.
Profit-driven mafias are less of a political danger to make fiction out of.

Pointing the finger straight at Lebanon is fairly non-generic, in my opinion. The other matter, of course, is the fact that not every anime viewer might get the hints...

Also, they did name FARC directly (Roberta's people). Takenaka's affiliation with the Japanese Red Army was also clear from many flashback shots.

The anime had Ada call Revy by her Kanji name pronounciations (二挺拳銃) instead of the furigana name (トゥーハンド), so that was a little weird for me.

Perhaps, although the first season has also done something similar (三合会 [トライアド] --> さんごうかい). Maybe these are attempts taken by the production team intending to make the show a little more relevent to the Japanese audience.

Just finished Episode 10, and so far I can honestly say Roberta has officially smashed Mahoro off the throne of the coolest Warrior-Maid in Anime. To be able to cause that much destruction and still be lady while she's at it... not even that flat-chested android could do that.

And most of all, when I looked into that sad but beautiful pair of eyes when she was rejected by Garcia...



....it was the first time I honestly said "AWW, HOW CUTE" in this anime of monsters and misfits.

Almost wanted to slap Garcia for making her cry....

....if she wouldn't kill me for doing it.

Nothing officially has been said, though i'm guessing it shall after the second season has finished airing in Japan. Geneon plan to release them both as one series.
