All hail Sugita for making another funny monologue guy. Anyhow, the best part was obviously the beach part for all the wrong reasons.

I think it's better this way- sure it's not as funny (violence=comedy), but that's as close as a 'happy ending' as he's gonna get... Well, unless she changes train from now on

Nice episode. It is also interesting to see another returning gag ---> trying on the school uniform of the opposite sex.

Oh.... and as much as I love Gintokis sexy voice, I think his VA is too old for a high schooler.... it doesnt fit the character at all!

If it reminds you of the crazy stupid times you had as a teenager, the it is a blast.

I do have a feeling though that as the western audience we are missing some of the cultural references here. For example I feel like I should know about how the Japanese radio works to appreciate how fail those boys are in that skit.

Actually, out of the main trio Kenichi Suzumura (who plays Yoshitake, the blonde dude) is the eldest VA, and ironically enough he sounds the most convincing as a teenage boy. Therefore their age has nothing to do with it :P Personally I love Tomokazu Sugita best when he plays these Kyon-like characters.

Ah yeah, he did Kyon too, didnt he? Strangely enough, the voice was absolutely perfect for Kyon. I assume its because Kyon sounds way more mature and this VA excels in expressing biting comments. Simply put you wont find a better VA for inner monologues .

Miyu Irino is barely in his 20s, and still plays mostly teenaged roles - he sounds the youngest of the three by far to me...

It's true he is the youngest, and don't get me wrong he does sound like a teenager as well, but I can't get enough of Suzumura's delivery of deadpan humor. He flawlessly captures the sarcastic nature of teenagers.

Hmm maybe I am biased too although in actuality Sugita is my favourite VA of the three.

Oh, Sugita is getting the biggest laughs here, no question - he's got the choicest role for sure. I was just pointing out that of the three, Miyu (for me) sounds the youngest.

I do hope that the Bungaku Shoujo can get an entire song out of all the loldeep words said by the boys about the wind, including Tadakuni's mood breaker. The beach part of the third episode felt like a subversion of what we do expect from a beach episode.

Yeah, so did I. I suppose it is only natural considering how conditioned we are by all the tsundere characters in animes. I think the comedy of that moment relied precisely on that too!!!

Hmmmm... Episode 3 wasn't as good as the previous episodes. It was still fun to watch despite of its shortcomings. The table tennis scene definitely made me chuckle. I've always thought Tadakuni is the smartest among the three, I guess I was wrong. lol. The train scene was probably my favorite. It was refreshing to see a girl showing gratitude to the guy that mentioned something that she'll embarrassed about. I was expecting a punch in that scene, perhaps I've been watching too much anime that has tsundere in them.

The ending never cease to make me laugh. That song is starting to grow on me too. lmao. The last segment was just glorious. For some reason, I just couldn't help but laugh hysterically after seeing this:

It certainly does. The anime made me realize how stupid and ridiculous my group was in high school, and I wasn't wrong. After being introduced to this show, all of us having a blast laughing about how similar those guys are to us.

I was hoping for something a little edgier, something a little more warts-and-all. Like a male equivalent of High School Girls (the manga, not the sanitized anime version). So far it's like they substituted slightly older boys for the cast of Today in Class 5-2. Not bad by any means, but not very interesting either.
