I must say, the highlight of this episode was everyone's favorite lame television drama, Ninomiya kun and sensei. By far the best episode of it we've seen so far.

If you ask me, Hosaka carries himself with TOO much dignity, angst and mystery. Well, maybe not mystery. heh

Hosaka is the clown of this series like the AEU ace pilot of the current Gundam 00. I don't really want to see him anywhere near Haruka! And i think Chiaki-sama would agree to this.

Minami-ke seems to be under the radar for a lot of people still. I'm guessing mostly because it didn't get hyped insanely like Lucky Star, and most of the comedy isn't very outrageous that tends to draw attention.

Actually I love all the male characters in this show, or more specifically how they're used in the show. Nothing but pure comic gold, and yet not too much nor too little.

edit: now that I think about it, they're my favorite male characters out of the entire season lineup. By far.

I think there are many shows under the radar this year, not only Minami-ke. For example, I considered Baccano! to be some kind of obscure title if you compare the quality of the animation/plot to how popular is here on Animesuki. One reason some shows are not as popular as others is because they didn’t receive enough exposure, there are few things to discuss about, the first episodes seemed boring/slow paced, or is not even worthwhile/interesting to actually bother. I find Minami-ke to be a great topic of discussion even though it’s a Slice-Of-Life type of show; whether is the relationship of the sisters or the wackiness of the supporting cast, there’s something to comment about. Slice-Of-Life type of shows are rarely popular if the focus happens to be those Slice-Of-Life aspects (settings, background) in anime such as ARIA and Sketchbook ~full colors~, unless there is some mecha, high school life, romance, comedy, etc. put together in the mix. LS was a great show, but a peculiar one whose popularity is mainly due not to the hype itself—which I think died in the first episodes—, but to the people who constantly reminded others how much they didn’t like it. Anyway, LS somehow picked up after the 4th episode and the majority of people who enjoyed the 'introduction part' were able to like the otakuness, moe overdoses, and the Slice-Of-Life/high school setting for the rest of the run.

While Hosaka is an interesting clown, but nobody touches Haruka, the legendary banchou-san.

However, like Shiroth, i don't mind having him as a lead in another series, but still ... nobody touches Haruka-san, else he or she would suffer from the wrath of Chiaki-sama.

Random thoughts

- Kana is everybody’s mentor to the path of a trap character. “After a while Mako-chan started to walk the path on her own.”
- No wonder Chiaki ignores her.
- I think Uchida saw something she wasn’t supposed to.
- Kana looks hot with glasses, but her idiocy is off the charts.
- It happened sometimes to me that when you try to pick something from the floor, there’s always another object falling at the same time.
- You might learn something from Kana’s self-defense classes.
- Uchida seems to be the type of girl who is always involved in unwanted situations.
- Kana-sensei sure knows how to teach her students and make them behave in an appropriate way.
- Who is Takeru-ojisan?
- Being restrained by lolis might be an experience that happens once in life.
- Uchida seems to react too much when somebody mentions money.
**Sensei and Ninomiya-kun both have amnesia, lol. I couldn’t believe this kind of situation would develop when somebody mentioned it two weeks ago. How many things can happen when the main leads have no idea of what’s going on? They will probably commit a double suicide at the top of a cliff for the next episode.**
- They sure like to be involved in car accidents.
**Trying to stop a car in the middle of a rain has nice results. It made me laugh so hard to the point of hurting my stomach. If they don’t die after the car was moving directly towards them (thanks to a worried doctor), they might have develop some kind of immunity in order to survive car accidents with consequences no more troublesome than just amnesia.**
- I might do a higher resolution of Haruka’s eyecatch.
- The legendary first generation banchou, Haruka. Beating the crap out of the guys by rejecting them or cleaning the windows (it’s so like her).
- It should have been hard for Haruka to be sexually harassed by a math teacher to the point of pouring water on him. **I loved her reaction to Kana’s words**
- Pulling skirts has been a tradition of the school.
- Haruka has natural leading skills of a banchou.
- Haruka looks cute 2(?) years ago, but I still prefer mature Haruka.
- How dare to call Haruka a scum of society. That’s uncalled harassment right there. Pouring water on the teacher is justified.
- I can understand why some students were crying because of banchou. Being rejected by the very person they liked might have been really hard.
- Little Kana and Chiaki are cute.

I’m really interested to know what other stories made Haruka a legendary banchou.
Looking forward to next episode featuring Hosaka.
