She doesn't have to, but she still does. Regardless whether she challenged Lambdadelta or the other way around, she is partially responsible for the tragedies in Hinamizawa. She may not have set off the tragedies of Rokkenjima, but by involving herself, she is upping the ante - and inspires Beatrice to bring in Lambdadelta. "Boredom is the only poison which can kill witches," she says in the anime. And she says she will only help if doing so amuses her. If she's totally serious about that, then ... well ... It's clear how she is bad, even if you don't know the finer details of the Life and Times of Bernkastel yet. (Which I don't, and I wouldn't mind being proven wrong.)
