Yea, if you read further chapters, you'd realise that he wasn't much manly to begin with. He needed a girl to protect him....this should tell you alot.

Hazumu confessed his love to Yasuna, but was turned down. To ease his pain, he went to Mt. Kashimayama where he’d first met her. However, he became lost and night fell. Suddenly, he saw a big shooting star in the sky. As he began to make a wish, he abruptly realised that it wasn’t a shooting star, but a falling space ship! Although he was injured in the crash, he managed to survive through the help of the alien occupant. However, he became a girl due to an accident during the reconstruction of his body.

I wanted to know if any group has announced they will be subbing this series?

It has a great voice cast (Kana Ueda = Yumi from Maria-sama ga Miteru; Yui Horie = way too many good examples but for quick reference, Naru from love hina; Tamura Yukari = Sugiura Aoi from Mai hime/otome)

My first impressions were that it sounded a little 'odd', but I think this could have great potential for a good comedy/romance series, especially with the selected seiyuu.

Well, besides if knowing if any group has announced or shows interest in subbing this (this is FUTURE TENSE moderators) any other thoughts on this series?

Doremi-fansubs might do it, if the first episode gives good faith to the manga.

But 3 awesome female seiyuus make this series an instant win for me.

And it's Sugiura "Midori" ^_^

Uh, if the dude turns into a girl, how could it be shonen-ai? I'm thinking yuri and a half!

Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~ is a seinen(young men's) manga/anime (a yuri manga/anime for guys), and I already started a thread about this.

So Doremi-Fansubs is going to sub this? I sure hope so:X I know that the fansubgroup I'm in will have a crack as well (new fansubbing group) but we fail without a decent translator:X

Anyhoe, I really like the manga so far! So I'm hoping for the anime to be cool as well ^_^

Okay, so I'm biased. But I loved it. I could quibble about the character design not being quite as good as the manga, but I got used to it. The overall look was very sweet. Suited the piece well. The drama was played quite straight, mostly, so I really felt for Hazumu and Tomari-chan and Yasuna-chan at various times.

That's partly because of the great voice-acting: the three stars all gave their roles a very nice feeling. I was also maybe expecting a deeper voice for Hazumu at first, but the notion of playing it quite effeminate all the way through made sense, too. I thought Asano Masumi as the third girl (voice of wisdom) did a great job. I maybe wasn't quite as convinced by the teacher or the parents (edit: here is where I see the awkward comic timing mentioned in the next post), but the spaceman's voice sounded good, the little we heard it.

The climactic coming-back-to-earth scene was new from the manga, and maybe a bit more fanservicey even than there. As I said for the manga, if you hate fanservice, steer clear.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but hearing the third-rate native English voice-acting made me wonder if Engrish wouldn't have been just as good. Lol.

Ok first episode. I thought it moved a little slow, another thing was the pacing of the comedy it had like no timing. I third the Ueda thing it just didn't work as a male voice. Well it's an interesting concept I haven't read the manga so it's all new to me. I'll follow for 4 more eps who knows this might turn out to be like peto peto-san and wow me.

Heh, having read some of the manga, I must say that I enjoyed the first episode. The character designs were just right, and I had no qualms with the voices except for the aforementioned issues with Hazumu's male voice.

I liked it. Gives good faith to the manga, and the comedy bits are quite good. The trio of female seiyuus really did a good job.

Note, this is a joint with another group, so this won't get the "3 day after raw" quickie treatment.

I finally watched this episode. It was pretty good. I liked how Yasuna was in this episode a lot wherea she was pretty much in the start ofthe manga.

Now, having read a couple volumes of the manga, I must say the relationships are very shallow and largely unbeleivable, to me at least. I like interpersonal drama between the characters of a series, but for the most part it just isn't really present here and what there is is just so miserable in its presentation it actually angers me. I mean...

Spoiler for not actually much to spoil, putting it in tags just to be prudent: All star casting of Ueda Kana, Horie Yui, and Tamura Yukari certainly lives up to their credibility. Only qualm I have is Hazumu's (Kana) voice when he's still a guy. It's too high pitched for a second year high schooler, would have preferred the kind of low tone Kana did for Kotoha in Gokujou Seitokai. That plus Hocchan being Hocchan and Yukarin being Yukarin, kinda reminded me of Kurumi and Miyako from PaniPoni and Nanoha and Hayate from Nanoha A's, but the threesome are surely capable of accomplishing great things for this series. No opening song, probably due to spoilerish scenes, but then we get eufonius singing the ending song. Wait a minute, I thought that was supposed to be the opening song. As much as I like eufonius' style, the song didn't have much of an impact on me. As for the plot, typical Akahori Satoru craziness and comedy blended into a developing romantic situation, not necessarily yuri. Credit him with originality. Art isn't spectacular, it's passable for this type of genre, hope it doesn't break down in subsequent episodes. Other things noticed were the use of native English seiyuus (no Engrish, folks), and the notion that TV Tokyo somehow laxed their censorship restrictions (not the fabricated nude scene, but the frontal bra shot seen in the preview, which I haven't seen recently on this station) Since this replaced Aria time slot-wise, and will probably be replaced by Aria 2 in Spring, expect it to be 13 eps of fun. Omniscient Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2004	Episode 01 Screencaps and Summary Spoiler: I'm very pleased with how the first episode of Kashimashi turned out; it's pretty much everything I was hoping to see. For one, eufonius sings a great opening song (which they played at the end for this first episode). The general concept (boy gets hit on the head with a UFO and gets turned into a girl, shoujo-ai ensues) still gets to me, but I've really grown to like the story, thanks to the manga. The first episode gets a bit more sci-fi than the manga, but the focus of the series is clearly the relationship between Hazumu, Yasuna, and Tomari. The all-star cast they had for those three (Ueda Kana, Horie Yui, and Tamura Yukari) did a great job, though (as eggplant noted) Ueda-san's voice was a bit too female for a male high schooler. I also have to mention that the English (not Engrish) was great, and had me laughing really hard. It equates to something like a poorly acted English dub.

Spoiler: The triangle that Hazumu, Tomari, and Yasuna are standing on in the ending credits can't make things any more obvious ;D. Loved the English parts... "The size is about 6560 feet long!" Meanwhile, the Japanese subtitles say "2000 metres"... Imperial units for the fail! lol Just joking; at least the conversion was pretty accurate. Thumbs up for Kasimasi so far.

I liked how Yasuna was in this episode a lot wherea she was pretty much in the start ofthe manga. Spoiler: I especially liked how they changed making both Tomari and Yasuna catch Hazumu and thus, starts the love triangle. But the bad thing is certainly Hazumu's male voice. After catching Hazumu, Tomari comments on Hazumu's new voice. That scene was pretty weak and unrealistic because male Hazumu and female Hazumu sounds the same. I felt sorry for Hazumu being broadcasted live everywhere. I mean, why did the aliens feel like embarrassing him? And how did the spaceship get repaired so quickly? I remembered them mentioning something about that in the manga but forgot what it is.

I mean... Spoiler: He pours his heart out to the girl he loves and she refuses him because he's 'male.' Then shortly after having his/her life torn apart and turned upside down she (the girl who was confessed to) starts coming on to him and declares her love for him because he is now a she. More than this, without the slightest thought or even emotional twinge as to just how messed up this person's (once again, the confessed to girl) idea of a relationship is, he takes it. There are few people that would not be, even remotely, upset over such a thing happening to them. 'I refused you because you were male but now that I tore out your heart, you've had your entire life ruined and altered, I love you and hope you'll recipricate my feelings...' But the kicker is that he/she actually accepts this! I, personally, wont be watching or reading anymore of this noisome trash.
