Beelzebub has been in the bottom of the rankings for ages now and has had poor sales for a WSJ manga since the start. It's a miracle it got this far. |

Agree with Kanon, there are lots of speculations circulating the manga forums around the net ever since but still no concrete evidence on this one. Thouh I'm agreeing when it comes to some certain part wherein you can feel the ending is near but still...

I think it's due to Beelzebub's current ranking, which is one of the bottom 3 for WSJ. Barring unusual circumstances, those series with that kind of ranking usually end up being axed. Don't forget, WSJ is pretty brutal about rankings.

i read here http://mfteam.fr/jump-4-nouvelles-se...i-va-sarreter/ ( it's in french) that 4 new series will debut and its likely that the 3 or 4 last one on the classement will be kicked out

there is a new series starting in wsj 11 but I see nothing on the wsj site that indicates Beelzebub is ending. Maybe they just aren't putting it there but it looks like speculation from the fans in this case until I see it in the magazine or from wsj or the author.

You have to take into account that while at the start a manga usually survives mostly on its popularity within the magazine, eventually things like merchandising and anime adaptations and so on start to help out the series stay clear of an axe. Although Beelzebub doesn't have an anime anymore (a sure-fire way of not getting axed) and is currently in the bottom of the weekly rankings, it's still a popular series that held top spots for a while now. That doesn't necessarily mean it can't/won't get axed but it does give it an edge over newer series when spots are needed in the magazine. |

And while it is technically speculation, this is coming from people who have been following WSJ rankings and cancellations for years and whose guesses are 85% correct. And Beelzebub meets all conditions a Manga needs to be canceled. Quote:
