Does this Sound the end of FMA!

Lately I have been watching Fullmetal Alchemist and I have been wondering the ending to this anime can't come to a good closing. Like Last Exile there is going to be a lot of blood shed. I know this isn't new news but I think there should be some light shined on this subject. I have a feeling that Winry is going to die or get severely in some way that will drive Ed insane. Oh well hoping for a good ending in the end... This is Temjin signing off. < >

You could have read the info sticky which says that the sow will run for 52 episodes. And 52 episodes isn't long. Naruto has been running for 78 eps and is far from finished.

Please for God's sake; do not think of such a heartbreaking prediction like that. I mean, everytime I think about it I crack fierce hatred so bad.

As hard as it may seem, and I'd certainly hate to admit it, your prediction is one of the possibities that might be implemented in the series. But hold your horses and do not think like that too far; it'll just grind alot of hate and dispair as we even talk about it. Keep in mind that now we know that the creator of the series is somewhat twisted; as we had to come to terms with Nina's death & Maes Hughes. So therefore you really can't predict precisely what's going to happen. Who knows, maybe there will be a change of heart too keep Winry alive and let some other close character die. (Which I wouldn't want to happen, aftermath Post-Hughes.) I'd also like to point out that if your prediction is true also; I would certainly feel that one of the sins who supposedly commited the murder would be hated like s**t & lose major fanbase. Oh, & despite all I've said - I'm sure there would be more tonification between the relationship of Edward & Winry later on in the series, before anything disasterous happens. *hopes up high*

Moderators, I request this thread to be closed. I believe that a prediction thread like this shouldn't be avaliable on these boards right now. It's just too depressing to even talk about it.

PS. Oh, and I'd hope that they decide to change the 3rd ending real quick to a new one. Don't get me wrong; I may be a Winry-loving fanboy, but like a number of critics out there say - it's too much exposure & unlike-Winry at all :/

The deaths of Nina and Hughes don't signify that he/she is twisted, they show that he/she is truly artistic and knows how to get an emotional response from his/her fans.

I think that Edward will end up making the philosophers stone by using Envy, Gluttony, and Lust as the human sacrifices.

That is just a thought I'm only at episode 22 so I only have that to predict.

Well, if we're marking semi-random guesses, how about:...

Ed decomposes the Sins (Like Scar can do) and somehow redirects the power in them into rebuilding his arm and Al's body (As if he made the stone, but without having it) - but then, the Sins' inability to do alchemy is passed to them, and neither of them can do alchemy.

Of course, that is a complete and total guess, and one that doesn't seem very likely.

What outlandish theories do other people have??

considering the progress of this series, i think there will be a lot of bloodshed at the end and tragic...i really dont want to know and i wish it was longer than 52 cuz it seems like an excellent show. (just got started on it 4 days ago)

I am pretty impressed with this series so far, I just watched the ep where Huges was killed today and I got misty eyed. I couldn't beleive it. I was heartbroken, he was such a great character. I can see how someone can predict a tragic end to this series. But I am sure we have alot more twists ahead of us. But as things are turning out now, I am going to predict the end will be sad....Possibly, Al will not live in the end, and Ed will not get his old body back. Just a shot in the dark.

I'm thinking that they willl get a chance in the end to get what they want, as in that wonderful fleshy stuff, all they would have to do is complete the process. But somthing happens, and for the sake of someone else they have to give up that chance to save that person... and to make it even more painful, maybe after there is a way to continue, but only one of the brothers can get their "pound of flesh" and they have to decide who will be normal again.


Well, either that or ED kills himself to get his brother back in a shinny new human body. That seems painful enough.

hey guys..i have a question about the end of FMA.. From what I'm told, the manga is nowhere near ending. Does anyone know if the manga will end to coincide with the anime?

If the manga doesn't end... FMA could end up like Berserk..
worst ending ever = resolves nothing and is basically a 52 episode advertisement to go read the manga..

that would suck more than winry dying :/

Considering that the mangaka has stated the plan was to draw the manga for 7 years and it had went on already for 2+, the anime would not likely have the conclusion or story that the manga has.

She has drawn up 34 chapters (and still going) in Gangan the monthly magazine. She also has drawn 4 FMA gaidens, as well as writing up 3 FMA novels.

okay..so basically.. after the 52nd episode of FMA is out, we can expect either

1) the anime to make up its own ending, significantly diverging from the manga (this will probably piss everyone off)

2) an abrubt ending, where none of the significant issues are concluded (such as: ed/al dont get their bodies back, the blahblah (censored) dont get killed, they still have no clue where Dad is (unless he already shows up in the manga..? dont spoil me i dont want to know), etc etc).. and we have to go read the manga if we want to ever find out (this will probably piss off a lot of people who dont read the manga)

3) To Be Continued in Season 3 ending ... i guess..since the manga is going to be going for 5 more years, this would be the best??? groan
