Looks like America has the most instances of developmental experimentation. Maybe Britain, I can't tell.

About the Africa. looks like Sub Sahara Africa and Northern Africa has at least a couple of IS but not enough money to bring their students over here from what I see (Mostly the PMCs train the IS pilots could be likely)

The second episode was a LOT better than the first one, it was about time for some action, the battle was well done and the animation too, Houki it's hot and Cecilia too at the end, the only bad part it's that all the anime it's a cliché itself, however clichés can be good if they're properly directed.

Wow, the USA has at least two (one in Los Angeles and the other in New York or Washington D.C.). As for the Canada one, it is hard to tell. It is right at the border of Maine and New Brunswick, which is an odd location to research one, since neither location, as far as I know, has a major city recognized internationally. It could be Montreal, however, but that city is further inland than indicated by the picture.

I also noticed that Italy was left out, as with most of Europe (hence lack of other countries representing IS in the anime). There is London, Paris, and Madrid for Europe (possible Spanish IS representative at some point in future).

With that said, the fact that the USA has at least 2 locations (more than any other country besides Japan) makes it even more suspicious that they are not represented as one of the 5 countries in the harem. They will definitely be brought up at some point.

Like many of you said, there are a lot of cliches on this anime, but there's something that makes me want to keep watching it.
Somehow it reminds me of gunparade march and vandread at the same time.

You know what would make the discussion on the boards much more enjoyable? If the board would autodelete any sentence containing the word "cliche".

For crying out loud, kids, you're discussing anime here. It's near impossible to find any form of storytelling entertainment nowadays which hasn't been done this way many times before.

It will be pretty interesting if they have a developed story to tell about that. Maybe something to do with possible research for war in the past?

One thing I learn when watching novel adaptations like IS: NEVER spoil yourself too much.

I keep feeling that IS has more to offer than these two episodes so far, because nothing really excites or interests me at the moment. The dialogue felt a little stiff from the extras, though perhaps the interactions amongst the harem AND possibly a surprise of an interesting story might provide some good entertainment.

I'm a little clueless on the cliches part. Can someone enlighten me about what sorts of cliches are in there, aside from the usual character archetypes?

@ Mentar: Sorry, just saw your post. Want me to bleep out those few words? :P

Episode 2 was great. More information regarding the IS world was revealed and the animation of the fighting scene was nicely done. Houki's attitude was great when she volunteers to help Ichika in front of the senior, and I'm looking forward to see Celicia's dere side. I don't really care about cliches as long as I find the characters likable which is something IS doesn't lack.

So guys whats the verdict, which is the best fan-subbing group for this show? Since there literally is like 5 different groups subbing this. I checked Ayako for the fist one, but I want to know if there is a better group.

I feel bad about bitching on a meta-level twice in a row (sorryyyy ^_^), but... could we please avoid these kind of discussions here? They tend to be exceptionally inflammatory, and they have the potential to be very frustrating to subbers, too. And this is coming from someone who used to be on the "winning" end of arguments like these.

Only a fraction of people are truly qualified to comment on that, because most japanese-savvy people good enough to judge TL quality watch anime raw. If they don't, they're usually affiliated to fansubbing groups doing it. If it's English grammar you're concerned about, you can find out on your own, as is video quality, timing quality, typesetting or karaoke effects.

So, my suggestion: How about you download them and compare them by yourself? Then the verdict is subjective, but that's what really matters to _you_

If the harem members are representatives from each of the countries, then taking over the world won't be a mere dream.
