I would like to add 007 : Everything or Nothing.

That has some of the best voice acting. In fact, it's actually James Bond himself, Pierce Bronsnan.

It started out kinda <Bleah>, but starting around the middle of the game and headingf towards the end of the game, one can tell (at least from my perspective) that the VA's for the parts got into their roles and produced a fairly decent voice track. I liked it.

My favorite game for voice acting so far has to be between Disagea and Phantom Brave. Laharl is just too funny

I like the voice acting in FFX-2, really awesome !. I Played both versions; the Japanese and US version. The Japanse version was really good, the Us version was reasonble. Not bad but could've been better

I assume/hope you're talking about the Japanese VA's?

Yeah, it's pretty hard to argue with Brosnan...besides, they've got Mya doing the opening theme- best Bond theme in years, imho- I wish the song was on one of her albums

I like all voices in XenoSaga except for the brat, brat's blonde redneck assistant and Shion. Hedy Buress, please stop ruining games mmkay?

I love KOS-MOS' voice though.

Btw...I would like to nominate most of the cast of GTA:San Andreas for best voice acting, particularly Samuel L. Jackson and Charlie Murphy, those guys ROCK!

Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines has excelent voice acting. Disgaea comes in second(And no, not the Japanese voices, the English ones, they're awsome).

English voice acting or Japanese voice acting? Either way my vote goes to the entire cast of Metal Gear Solid. Whether in English or in Japanese, those guys ROCKED!! Excellent jobs all round.
Honourable mention: English cast in Starfox 64. They didn't say much, but they said it well.

The Legacy of Kain series, and ESPECIALLY Soul Reaver 2. Infact, I loved Soul Reaver 2's dialogue so much, I ended up writing about it in English for some spoken texts coursework (saved my ass too - I had 3 texts, and most of my marks probably came from the SR2 analysis :P).
Baldur's Gate 2 is also very nice.
I'd have said Metal Gear Solid, but I'm so pissed off with the shitty, shitty acting in Metal Gear Solid 3, I'm retracting that statement completely.

1. Metal Gear Solid (Raiden is crap in the second one)
2. Legacy of Kain (Original Soul Reaver was done the best, imo)
3. Knights of the Old Republic (Although the hero doesn't have a voice, others are done superbly)
4. GTA (If anyone has played San Andreas, they know what I'm talking about)
5. Halo 1/2 (For a MS game, it's done surprisingly well. MC and Sarge in particular)

Personally, RPGs are my favorite genre, but I just don't think the Japanese translation teams get good actors to do the roles. SO3 was probably the best done, but even that one got annoying enough that I muted it and put on subtitles.

GTA San Andreas- very good voice acting. I like CJ's actor.

Ah, found it, I was sure there had to be a thread about voice acting in video games.

In my opinion, there are many games with great voic acting, but if I had to narrow it down to the best voice actors, I'd probably go with:

- Paul Eiding, especially as Colonel Roy Campbell in the Metal Gear Solid-Series.
- Brian Cox as Scolar Visari in the Killzone-series

Chris:AHAHAHAHAHA!
Wesker:stop it

If you know what i'm saying i'm joking i'd have to say my favorite VA's are from the MGS franchise

To many to list D=

Paxton fettle from F.E.A.R was pretty creepy and well voiced.

All of the cast of dead space where pretty top notch as where the cast of mass effect.

Hayter was pretty awesome as snake in all the mgs's aswell.

My vote'd go to Metal Gear as a series but signularly I love Valkyria Chronicles English VAs. Colleen O'Shaughnesse (Alicia and a great name by the way) has such a wonderful voice.
